  • @tianrocks It's in the key of Bb.

  • sweet lick.

  • "This is another of my FAVORITE licks...."

I swear they are all his favorite licks ;)

  • Where can I get these Jazz tabs?

  • Did Bob custom make your guitar?

  • What scale is this??

  • @cogmandino It's a Bb mixolydian scale. Think of it as an Eb major scale but starting and ending on the Bb.

  • playing isnt teaching atleast for us begginers

anyone think he looks like the ice truck killer from dexter.

  • @drakenkorin404 Maybe you start off at the wrong end of the rope? Get familiar with the bare basics of music and playing guitar before you deside that you are gonna play jazz like the big ones. This isn't for beginners.

  • licks are there to learn and then to forget them to build your own style while mixing different lick bits and combining other stuff

  • Ya gotta be able to hear it.Doesn't matter how much tab or video lessons you learn. The bottom line is you gotta hear it "once" and play it instantly. That's how real players play.Off each other. With ear training or playing with someone a lot better than you.No get it.Ever!

  • For anyone who finds this a bit fast to work out, there is an old saying that 'if you can whistle it, you can play it'. When you have the melody in your head, it's much easier for your fingers to know where to go. Get whistling, and you'll find you really don't need tabs so much. All the best.

  • SUPER!!!

  • I, personally like the Em7 scale.

  • @mikupa yeh all guitar players do....... but horns work in flats so what can you do but learn how to play in 'em

  • I build mins own licks too and I still can learn from this man Mr. fruscai why dont you make a video yourself

  • I build mins own licks too and I still can learn from this man Mr. fruscai why dont you make a video youself

  • What kind of guitar is that? Is that a D'Aquisto? A real one?

  • What scale does he use besides the chromatic

  • @PMaN23456

its just notes from the Bb7 chord with few chromatic notes. scale is Bb mixolydian

  • This lick begs for a change to the IV chord. (Maybe due to the accentuated min 7).

  • I was writing a jazz book,I just gonna say ,jazz is like a languaje .you hear ,you analize you memorize, you repeat, and practice over and over and then create your own lines.

  • love it, got this lick down! sounds nice

  • what key is this lick it? and how do u know?

  • @Metallicafan13

it's in Bb and I know because he said it at the beginning of the vid ;) haha

  • @slipothelip oh...that was dumb :P

    thanks! haha

  • You can pick up the whole thing on DVD on ebay. I got mine for a bit over $20. Can't beat that.

  • thse licks are classics andhave worked with a lot of well known people, you need to study the greats before you can become one

  • I build my own licks.

  • @manguera9 me too.. but it's good with some outside inspiration I believe

  • @manguera9 And it's great to build your own licks and I've done it too, but if you hear a beautiful melodyline, why not use it?

  • @manguera9 Best way, man.

  • @manguera9 everyone builds up his own licks (based on licks or runs you've heard before)

  • @manguera9 I guess you have a totally unique touch and have your very own, unique style and sound like no one else since you build your own licks, then?

  • @manguera9 yeah, that doesn't really make this a bad video does it now?

  • @manguera9 I lick my own thankyou! what do you mean? I lick it man like any other dude, don't write this offensive stuff, I am a believer, and I believe that there is only one God and he be by the name of George Benson, do you get me?

  • @QuynnT IF YOU DONT KNOW ,ONE CHORD HAS HIS OWN SCALE,, A SUBSTITUTE,,A RELATIVE MINOR,ETC ETC

THERE ARE A LOT TO TALK ABOUT IMPROV,

IN 1978 A GOT " A MODERN METHOD FOR GUITAR 1-2-3 "BY WILLIAM LEAVITT, WICH BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC USE i STUDIED THE WHOLE BOOK FOR 3 YEARS ,AND AT THE END OF THE LAST PAGE OF THE BOOK ,THERE IS A PHRASE " THESE BOOK TEACH THE THEORY HOW TO MAKE MUSIC NOW YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOU OWN MUSIC. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,I HOPE THIS HELP ANSWER YOUR QUESTION.

  • @manguera9 are you angry?

  • @manguera9 learning is good , improvisation is divine....

  • @manguera9

they are the language, dummy. real musicians share and learn them.

  • @ketchupsoupband dummy go to the jazz music school then, after 2 years you will notice if you have talent or not to be a jazz performer .

learning tons of theory dont mean you have talent, you have to create your own music ,with the help of your imagination, creativity ,a jazz solo is like song melody.

  • Would someone please let me know where I can purchase all these swinging backing tracks that you hear on these videos of Frank. Many thanks.

  • @jmsbk12345 go the truefire site and either become a student member at level2 or higher (you only really need level 2 or buy that specific lesson set.
