she was so totally mimining it it was so obvious cos at 3.40 when she "sung" into the mic. the only sound was the backing track, she was obviously expecting the vocals to be louder, and her voice was out of tune the whole way through.

@Blueknightex What's the point in dancing on stage if it's making you sound awful? I don't get it. Better artists don't compromise. I came back here for a second listen after I saw this go out live, because I really enjoy Kelly's songs when I hear them on the radio(I used to love Destiny's Child too!), but second viewing just made me cringe even more. I'll stick to singing along to the radio while I do the dusting, I'll spend my gig money on Annie Lennox.

Kelly Rowland really blew up in UK and Europe when she got with Guetta back in 08.Her voice is pretty powerful and she found her niche In dance music.She was in the best girl group ever(vocally).Shes great with harmonizing,melismas etc.she can sang, trust me
I love my girl Kelly and her new album is awesome. Such a shame her album sales haven't been great she does deserve much more success but I dont feel Kelly is always consistant with her live vocal. Like she doesnt know how to use her voice. She's great recorded and can belt out notes but since DC days she very rarely cuts it live. This is a GREAT performance but I think she was very nervous and didnt deliver vocally which is such a shame! LAY IT ON ME has to be the next single for the UK!!!

First off you'd have to be either,deaf,dumb, or a Monster(Gaga fan) to not admit that most of her work, including form 08 till now is heavily edited,auto-tuned and processed.
@0091vincentny Besides Britney Spears and Ke$ha,Gaga takes third place for auto-tuned vocals.She sings live, sometimes,but she has mimed before,also even when she sings live, like Kelly..she has backing track.Most artist do nowadays, whether they have backup's or not.
Secondly,Gaga's range is really basic,she only has like 2 octaves,and she doesn't belt, and if she does it sounds like exclamation or its some computerized sounding vocal.

Kelly sounds breath taking when she is standing still or singing ballads,slow jams or slower songs,but when she does uptempo dance choreography with intense moves like this,she tends to run out of breath easily,because she over does it on the dance moves.she doesnt pace herself all the time,but she has performances where she has did great @ same time
@aquamarine11500 this performance was badly out of tune, huge amounts of echo (since you are using processed as a negative quality, although imo it has its uses), weak "resonance" and bad choreo, lack of creativity/flair and no articulation. this is relative to a typical pop performance
in fact, it was so bad that alot of the musicians i kno have been talking about it which brought me here.

BTW Kelly doesn't uses reverb(echo) on her mic like some people..That was all her voice in it's glory and power.she has a strong voice that carries.but to each his own :)

@0091vincentny So continuing for my last post,as a result Kelly has a pretty solid singing technique.Kelly she can be very technical,she has a very flexible voice with great vocal acrobatics,her transitions are okay,and her voice is powerful.I would say she had the second most powerful voice out of DC,and sometimes she sung over Bey a coupe times..lol
Again Kelly's only flaw in her is breath control and as a performer/dancer is pacing.she can run outta breath easily when she over performs

@0091vincentny sure i'm dealing with an amateur, no mater how many diplomas or years of whatever education u got.any decent vocal coach is gonna confirm to you that vocal range is far from being most important, and that it is about setting up the tones u have and being able to pull em off and work with them the best you can.there are tons of singers with 4, 5 octaves who can't sing properly so that my dear means shit.and btw kelly is one of em..shes got tunning problems.

First let me start by saying i am a huge beyonce fan i guess i am a stan....... but i also like kelly and i know she can sing and she has potential to be a much more relevent celebrity.she needs to stop trying to be soooo popish and return to good R&B . she has to be more consistent with marketing, promotion, and make more relevent music..this techno music isnt going to be what saves her career..it gets her in the clubs...and im sure helps her get some type of fan base but she could do much more

@Blueknightex What's the point in dancing on stage if it's making you sound awful? I don't get it. Better artists don't compromise. I came back here for a second listen after I saw this go out live, because I really enjoy Kelly's songs when I hear them on the radio(I used to love Destiny's Child too!), but second viewing just made me cringe even more. I'll stick to singing along to the radio while I do the dusting, I'll spend my gig money on Annie Lennox.

@loquatiousbadger Because they want to promote the music and by dancing they are showing people watching the performance how fun it is to listen and dance to the music. Kelly's songs from her new album are meant to be played on parties and clubs. That's the whole point of adding choreography on stage while she performs it.

I love my girl Kelly and her new album is awesome. Such a shame her album sales haven't been great she does deserve much more success but I dont feel Kelly is always consistant with her live vocal. Like she doesnt know how to use her voice. She's great recorded and can belt out notes but since DC days she very rarely cuts it live. This is a GREAT performance but I think she was very nervous and didnt deliver vocally which is such a shame! LAY IT ON ME has to be the next single for the UK!!!

Secondly,Gaga's range is really basic,she only has like 2 octaves,and she doesn't belt, and if she does it sounds like exclamation or its some computerized sounding vocal.

in fact, it was so bad that alot of the musicians i kno have been talking about it which brought me here.

@0091vincentny So continuing for my last post,as a result Kelly has a pretty solid singing technique.Kelly she can be very technical,she has a very flexible voice with great vocal acrobatics,her transitions are okay,and her voice is powerful.I would say she had the second most powerful voice out of DC,and sometimes she sung over Bey a coupe times..lol
Again Kelly's only flaw in her is breath control and as a performer/dancer is pacing.she can run outta breath easily when she over performs

@0091vincentny sure i'm dealing with an amateur, no mater how many diplomas or years of whatever education u got.any decent vocal coach is gonna confirm to you that vocal range is far from being most important, and that it is about setting up the tones u have and being able to pull em off and work with them the best you can.there are tons of singers with 4, 5 octaves who can't sing properly so that my dear means shit.and btw kelly is one of em..shes got tunning problems.
