@Gematria009 I know right?!?! Oblivion had this whole level to it I can't even explain. Skyrim has better features and all, but Oblivion still has something I can not explain. The long night in the summer exploring the world and the amazing music. I will never have a more beautiful gaming experience...
@XxXColeTrainxXx The music is what really gave it its mystic atmosphere. Skyrim's got amazing visuals, but it lacks the adventurous background music like Oblivion had. Oblivion's world came alive to me like no other game.
Oblivion is such a good game, but not anymore. It's sad, but the truth. The game just simply does not keep up with e.g. Skyrim. BUT, the memories will forever live on <3
@Venberg1 I'd contest that. I have no issue going back and playing Oblivion even after playing Skyrim. With the mind mindset even dated visuals can be very immersive.
Yeah I played Morrowind yesterday for eight hours straight easy. Skyrim is pretty cool, but while playing it after awhile I was just like damn I should fire up some Morrowind. It is always going to have a special place to me and I never even beat the game or most of the factions (yet).
The game is just so imaginative and the immersion is unparalleled. The locales are all just so great. Walking in the wilderness is so fantastic at least until the cliff racers swarm you ha
@notyoursavior78 I LOVED morrowind, but i was young and didnt understand the game, then a couple months ago, i played it an was like, OMG i love this game, i wish they would bring back the creatures from morrowind to skyrim or any other elderscrolls. Or atleast make a huge 5 disk set where you can roam all of tamriel! that would be any gamer dream!
Yeah I mostly played Morrowind when it came to the Xbox at least I had the GOTY edition. I honestly never had any real problems running the game, and didn't mind not having mods. When I got this better laptop and heard about the Graphics and Sounds Overhaul I just had to try it out so I got it cheap for PC. It is so fantastic like that too. Practically a new game.
I guess just what I am getting at is that Morrowind is one of the greatest locations I have ever seen...
@catalog343 That was less of a game to game issue, and more of a world to world issue.
Cyrodiil had a lot more character in it than Skyrim did. Skyrim is mostly snow and ice, whereas Cyrodiil had several different climates that were distinct and beautiful.
Skyrim has several differnt areas as well. Snowy, Tundra, Swampy, green pine woods, golden orange autumn forests, wastelands. It's not just ice and snow. All depends which corner of the map you're in.
And there are still people that say video games aren't art? The designs, the landscapes, and the MUSIC... My God, this music alone makes my heart swell.
@MrGvRii Lol. Do you ever think about what you are ACTUALLY doing when you play games? Its pretty funny, W, Mouse movement, S, W, A, Mouse movement. And you do it for 6 hours straight lol. Skyrim<3
@SupaNathan1 agreed, but have you heard the remix of Silt Sunrise from morrowind on Skyrim? It tends to play in Whiterun a lot. brought chills to my back when i recognized it...
That moment when I came out of the sewers was burnt in my brain, that feeling of loneliness, awe, discovery and the music ... damn that was a great day.
@SuperEnergyAddict022 i mean in elder scrolls V skyrim, i saw leaked 3 hours of gameplay and the charecter went to a preacher who was preaching about Talos i will PM you the link to it
From what I heard, Talos = Alduin, who actually turns out to be pretty evil in Skyrim. I mean, would YOU worship the thing that threatens to consume the world?
@Pwillig ^_^ yup... i started with morrowind in 2003, kinda do envy the people who started with arena already and enjoyed daggerfall when those were new
Oh man. I hear everyone who talks about memories. When I was about 12 I started playing Guild Wars (for which Jeremy Soule also composed the soundtrack). Every time I hear the music of that game, I immediately feel nostalgic. Same with this track! Soule has a tendency to do that :P
I've never played this game, or most of the games Jeremy Soule composes for for that matter, but his music has a very nostalgic property that makes it so personal.
brings me back to when i first played oblivion, i raced through the first quests in those filthy dugeons to finally come outside, i could almost feel the wind, almost touch the sky and trees i looked to the mountains hearing this music........ aaaah the memories.....
Beautiful!

Oblivion had a much better soundtrack than Skyrim. That's what I think made Oblivion such an unforgettable game.

It might be Akatosh, I forget. I don't know the pantheon by heart. I just remember reading somewhere that Alduin was the Nordic analogue to SOME god.
