allen, the owner of the octopus said whether he gets on the yacht once or not it still costs him 20 million a year upkeep

What is it exactly that costs 20 million per year? If I had a boat of that size, I would have all non-technical crew members from a country like the Philippines and pay 1/10th what a typical Ameican crew makes. Assuming no fuel is used and no taxes and no docking fees are paid, where is the "10% of the value of the boat in maintenance costs" coming from? I imagine that aside from the skipper, the engineer, and the helicopter pilot, everything else is just cleaning and cooking.

My personal favorite is Pelorus made by Lurssen, but i also like Princess Mariana which is VERY beautiful as well. And it is build by Royal Denship which is danish - and i live in Denmark! In the summer of 2007 i worked on a RD yacht i Aarhus DK - that was fantastic, and i got to control the 82' Open!
