If you think about it, showing people in the past the world as it dies isn't really a way to get the job done. Artistic and awesome, but not practical. Visions of a world dying will just freak people out. Try sending well researched and logical instructions on what technologies to avoid, when, and what historical events to keep abreast of, rather than sending undoubtedly horrifying but still vague visions.

Just like today, there would be some people who would still do the things they were told to avoid just to know what will happen next or because they think that: "No one should tell me what to do!" or "Things will be different if I do it." "Now that we know what could happen we can do better."

@KhalanDuriant Well granted, there's a huge margin of error when doing anything involving time travel or projection. What I mean is, it'd be better than projecting near context-less images of humanity's demise into the past. You can show someone the end of the world all day long but that won't help, say, a blind 6th century minstrel fully comprehend what not to do in the future. Hell, just some basic instructions like 'Keep aware of the environment during industrialization' would at least help.

If you can control the projections and decide who should receive it, or at least in which age, then it could work. May be I'm wrong, but if I remember correctly the scientists were not able to control the projections. So an instruction like: "Keep aware of the environment during industrialization" wouldn't say much for some one from the 6th century. But everyone can understand a clear image.

I just bought 2CDs from ayreon, Through the commutative property of multiplication, 2CD=2DC, and since the Dawn of ayreon = Magnificent music, D=M, Thus 2DC= 2MC, Add an invisible log, and from a property of logs, 2logMC=logMCsquared, add an E for einstein and since the log is invisible, E=MCsquared. It all makes sense now...

Oh btw, fantastic music. Ayreo is an ingenious project.

Man, I hope there's another album coming at some point. The story is great, but the sheer scale of all the guests collaborating over so many albums is what makes Ayreon truly great. Guilt Machine is one thing, but this is simply on another level.

actually in a few songs they have some growls... mikael akerfeldt from opeth does some work with them on the album the human equation. i believe though that the songs that do have harsh vocals also have clean ones. Arjen (ayreon's composer) isn't really afraid to put anything in his music if it will help the feel of the music.
