Pioneer MEP-7000, CDJ-400, DJS How does it all work???

might as well by a set of cdj 400's and save some cash. the mep 7000 doesnt come close to 400s. and as for software it dont mean shit unless you hardware is up to the task trust me on my 6th year of using VDJ and the like.

Would it be possible to play one song from Deck A, one song from Deck B and let them play while still using the controller to control e.g. DJS? The laptop/DJS would use its own external soundcard, of course.

Would this be possible by connecting the controller to the computer instead of the connecting the drive unit to the computer?

how do you save what u mix on cdj to put on cd

connect your digital out on your mixer (or booth/ output B if your mixer doesnt have digital out) to the Input (microphone input) on your laptop/ desktop computer. Then download 'mp3 my mp3'. Open the program on your computer, switch 'micro phone record' on..........

then when your ready to record, press the record button on the program, and start mixing :)

hi can you help mep-7000 when you select your source eg cd1,cd2,usb1,etc if in cd1 mode playing cd and u decide to load an mp3 from usb to that deck what happens? is it like the cdj400 where you can be playing a cd then press usb source and the cd just stops half way through the song not very good it should have a safe gaurd asking you are u sure b4 changing can you reply asap

Afaik the soundcards are inside the CD unit on the MEP-7000 rather than on the controller so if you're only going to use the controller (the SEP-C1) then you do need the soundcard(s) for your PC.

I have the Pioneer DJM 3000 that goes perfectly with the MEP. You can do a lot more tricks with this combination.

For those looking to do the PCDJ thing and have about $350 I would suggest the Hercules DJ Console RMX. Bought one a couple of weeks ago and I've liked it so far. Huge upgrade from the 1 output channel USB soundcard I was using before. It's a MIDI controller, comes with software but you can use almost any MIDI compatible software with it (Ableton, Traktor, etc.)

The controller itself is a little larger than your standard laptop but I like the space. ProducerMatt does a great demo.

I've got two Denon DN-S1200's. Can you do a tutorial on how to hook up and control them on a PC or mac? It seems pretty similar... maybe when you go more in depth with these players, you could incorporate the DN-S1200

There are no sound outputs on the MEP7000 remote, so you need to use an external soundcard to run Djs or any other program, the SEP-C1 is actually bundled with Djs and still... no RCA outputs, so what gives.... I work in a DJ shop in Montreal Canada and am waiting to receive the SEP-C1 stand alone kit, but for the MEP7000 remote, I am almost positive you need a sound card....? Maybe this might be a good idea for a video Jonathan, it might clear up a few questions...

I think he was talking about what you use for serato to hook the tables up to your pc, that you would use a usb cable. Same with the 400 you would just use a usb cable, thats what i got from it anyways. Otherwise yeah, you need a sound card.

Yeah the mep-7000 seems to be quite the kit actually! I did some research on it and i kind of was in shock to really see what pioneer has come up with here! This is a very nice all around dj kit for a mobile dj!

I have been using that program 4 quite a while on my pc...but I don`t have any ideea how can I get 2 tracks out 1 on speakers and the other on headphones...maybe you can help me out with that ``problem``.

perhaps you need a sound card, the MEP will come with an internal sound card  same as the cdj-400 so no need for an external one. j

yeah i have the same problem with my mixing software. i think u can only split it if u have an appropriate sound card with multiple channels. most normal soundcards only have the 1 channel (where headphones will override normal speakers if attached).

You need an ASIO compatible soundcard or a multiple output channel soundcard and the ASIO4All driver. Not quite sure about this last thing but I heard that this also works. I have some experience with the first situation. If you have any questions about this you can PM me. I've been mixing with Pioneer DJS, VirtualDJ, BPM Studio, Traktor DJ Studio and even with Ableton Live. I'll try to make a tutorial if needed. Pm me if this is the case and I'll try to work something out ;)

yea you cant do that unless you have a special audio card with 2 outputs

best thing is to get the mep 7000 or any other midi control
