Ah, great premise for this song, and great verses. The chorus is a tad awkward with the beat, but the guitar lead is really good. This is definitely a great song.
I love this one sooo much... Lovely tunes and great voice! Just awesome Ron.. You have that huge talent.. Now I know why Winston told me you're addictive, because you truly are.
Hi Yvonne, thank you for your very kind comments. I really do appreciate your thoughts. Winston is one of my favorite artists on YT. He's great. Have a great Friday and weekend coming up. -Ron
Thanks for the share Ron. I love this song. I respectably disagree with you about the guitar parts here too - I think it sounds fantastic, the guitar seems to sing along and it suits the feel of this song quite well.
I can just picture someone like Paul Simon having a hit with this one. The lyrics just seem to flow and I can picture African drums and harmonies in there.. something like that ya know? Great song here.
I was listening to modern country stations for as much as I could stand today, I dunno, I feel obligated. Then I switched over to classic rock where I was barraged by songs I've heard 1,000 times over. I think I'm not embracing the times with you.
This song rocks...even though you bash cynics who hold nothing sacred. haha. THink that guitar riff's going to be bumping around in my head for a while. Bummer about your finger! Hope you mend up soon! Great to hear a new one from you.
Hey there Teruko :o) I do have a lot of stuff stashed away and some of it should stay stashed away..hehe... but a few of them might be good now :o) Thanks T. -Ron
Hey Ruby, I just wear my Simon and GarfunkLE T-shirt is all.... hehe. :o) I miss playing my banjo though but I'll be better soon. Thanks Ruth and talk again soon. -Ron
Hi Ron... I needed to hear it again this morning before I leave the house and now I can sing: " I ... am ... not embracing these times... clingclingclingcling" haha.... so cool... :-)
Thank you again Anette. I hope you will be able to enjoy your music and art now in your vacation time. And some more Uploads perhaps? :o) From USA, -Ron
Sorry to hear about your finger Ron..that is a bummer ..But you know if you had not been running & sittting at home drinking beer like I do..it never would have happened! ..Love this song Bro
Hey Rocket, and thanks a lot. I do believe you have a good idea there mon fre.... I can do both those things you mention very well too... but maybe not with the same class as you do :o)
Ah yes, great song Ron, and I agree with the lyrics - well put! but gee, I'm sorry to hear about your finger. I have heard that sometimes it helps to "soak it in cider".
Awesome, Ron. Love the overly present percussion and the lead prior to each verse. Fabulous bass line.
What is that at the end of each verse line? At first I thought it was a cymbal, but it sounds like it might be a guitar chord with some wierd effect on it.
If you have the ability to punch back in on this one, a harmony or counter vocal on the final repeated chorus would sound lovely. Maybe even both. ;-)
I also like how you bring the lead in on the final chorus.
Hello Justin, and I considered doing just what you suggest on the final chorus too, but I am a bit lazy these days :o) Really loved Engine Number 9 by the way. A great positive song to counter this dark little thing I have here. -Ron
Hi Jane, and thank you very much as always. I will finish our collab next week after the pin comes out the finger. I am mad I couldn't finish it before now :o). Talk to you later. -Ron
Hi Wolfgang, thank you and I hope you are mending well now. Yes, that would be an interesting band indeed... guitar players with broken arms and fingers :o) Take care of the arm and talk again soon. -Ron
A great tune, got a good feel to it. a mover. Ron, you got the vocals nailed on this, and that's one wicked sounding instrument coming out of my right speaker. 5stars easy winston
Dark lyrics and an upbeat pop/rock sound, but with a very fitting sound that seems like a cross between a cymbal and an electric guitar. What is it? It's wonderful. For a fan of Spike this is another treasure.
Hi Pete, thanks. That sound was actually just a guitar with a sitar-like effect on it. All the low frequency was removed. I wanted something abrasive to announce each verse. Yes, there is indeed a Spike influence here, can't deny it :o) -Ron
Oh yes Ron, it was a great idea to upload some of your older songs. So your badly broken finger at least was good for this :-)
Ron... I love this song very much. I could sign every word you sing here, really. And the best is the contrast between your lyrics and the musical style. I love such combination very much. It was the right song for me this morning. Thank you.
Hi Anette, and thank you. Yes, I will upload a few of the older ones until I can handle an instrument again without a big splint in the way :o) You realize how important music is to you when you are hindered from playing for a while. Nice greetings back to you in Germany. -Ron
one of my favorite songs of yours.
