I'm pretty sure it is Swiss Alpenflage. I bought the poncho because it was cheap and keep it in the trunk of my car so I can stay dry. I live in the Pacific Northwest and while I think it would blend fairly well in most of the terrain types here, I am not an operator and really couldn't say how well it "works."
I don't normally wear it. I thought it would look better than a constant view of my crotch.
@GRIPDRAP did you make that method up? and also do you have a video or know of one showing how to establish the circle, that seems like it would be the hardest part.
@1PATRI0T i did 100' of cord like this. its a great way to be able to pull off what you want and never have it get tangled up on you. it takes a while to a long length, but its well worth the initial time investment. it does go faster once you get the hang of it.
i started mine by making 3 loops the size of the donut you want to make, then you start making the small loops in front and then behind it as you go around the starter loops.
ive got 4,000 feet... O_o
