I think for the next world cup, Lindsey Vonn (and Maria Riesch) will have 3 big rivals with the comeback of Marlies Shield , Nicole Host and Lara Gut. If Lindsey Vonn wants to win a 4th world cup, she must be again good in slalom and to be in good place in giant. If she does crash like this world cup, with the other rivals, it will be very difficult. I hope she will train for that.

That was the problem , I think. In the super combined , giant in the olympic games, she went too fast and was not in good position (see also the crash in slalom and super combined in Val D'Isère ) . Of course she wanted the gold ; but I think with the crashes she had since december, it was better for her to ski slower but in security and to have only bronze medal or behind better than a crash. The very big challenge for her is to win a giant slalom and again slalom.

They don't typically start in one minute intervals either. The fog was bad that day and was only going to get worse. With the delays that had already occurred, further delays were not an option, so they were trying to get the skiers on the course as quickly as possible.
