I am a persian girl too and I love Indian dance as well. I am trying to learn it. So, it has nothing to do with the culture. It is a very cool dance, and the steps are actually very good for body and health if done correctly! I have seen Maryam's solo performances! She does alot better alone. Here since she's performing as a group, she has to go easy! And by the way, you don't need to come from a specific culture to do the dance! Just like belly dancing (Arabic), but performed by many cultures.
