  • this mans voice is hilarious!!

  • How is this pedal compared to the Seymour Duncan Deja Vu?

  • i like the strymon el capistan better.

  • I was thinking about purchasing the Vox Time Machine Delay.. since you are using a Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue ( no effects Loop), you have this box upfront, right? Your videos are great BTW..

  • if the vintage mode was more of a deluxe memory man type deep warble I'd be all over this pedal, but I dont really like tape style subtle modulation, and the real ehx DMMs are about twice the price :(

  • can this pedal do dotted eighth note delays?

  • @jong274 Yes it can, in tap tempo mode the D Range knob becomes a selection knob for the various different tap modes such as 1/4 notes or dotted eights e.t.c.

  • the chicken knobs are awesome because you can adjust them with with toes easily (if you play without shoes...)

  • did i hear some pantera in there?

  • @t0psecretshit I thought I heard "This Love"

  • Comment removed

  • does this delay pedal sound as warm/ fat as an analog mxr carbon copy?? i had one dd-3 and i disliked the bright/ pristine clean delay tones outta it.

  • @agentelectric yes,, it's a great pedal

  • @agentelectric well its digital, but in the vintage mode i think it does that old school anologue thing quite well. but as someone named jim marshall once said "use your ears"

  • you do the best reviews man! you rock!!

  • Does the D. Range "click" from one value to another or is it flexible to select values that are in-between the values printed on the stop box?

  • Does anyone know the name of the song around 0:45 ?

  • @mrawwenec its nothing, or everything depending how you look at it. four very useless chords

  • This pedal techincally isnt stereo because it has a dry signal, when you do plug in 2 amps, it plays one note on one side, then th erest of the delay is on the wet signal

  • Fuuuuccckkk the Effect on 4:24 is sicccckkkkkk!!!!!

is there another way to do that effect on a different pedal

without using the hand and switiching a knob ?!?!?!?!

    i Must Knowww!!!!!!

  • @fukskating Using a pitch shifter pedal

  • @fukskating some delays come with an expression pedal that can be set to change any paramater you want...pretty sure you can use the expression pedal to change the feedback time on the eventide timefactor delay and maybe the boss dd 20 can do that as well

  • oh shut up edge

  • cool pedal!

  • One million dollar question.

Is this an analog or digital delay pedal?

  • @SuperCannibalistic It's most likely Digital, most if not, all Analog delays I've seen don't have a delay time as long as this

  • @HitmanJenkins1 I saw a video from NAMM on youtube, where the Vox rep said all of Joe's pedals were analog.

  • I get one pero soy nuevo en esto y no sé la diferencia entre el Hi y Lo Fi ...

  • its an analog delay right?

  • @eukicos its digital

  • Would this still sound cool with an acoustic?

It's sounds like a stupid question, but I know that some delay pedals don't agree with most acoustic guitars. love.

  • @Michaelbirchy Yes, it would. But I would recommend the MXR analog delay with an acoustic guitar. I use a Martin D-28 with an L.R. Baggs pickup and I run it through the MXR delay. I think the delay pedal featured here is better for electric guitars.

  • 0:35 - I love the sound it does!

  • that pedal makes me fly in a blue dream

  • Somebody tell me: this pedal or MXR CC?

  • @SonicBrunoth id like to know too

  • @SonicBrunoth ive got the cc, and can say that it is a phenomenal delay. but im interested in this too, like the idea of a tap tempo

  • @SonicBrunoth I have lot's of experience with the CC and some with TM, the only advantage with the CC is it's size. TM is simply a way more musical and flexible delay.

  • this is hella cool

  • How many volts does it use?

  • @the0sval 9 volts im pretty sure

  • @the0sval

The ispot 9 volt is correct. I use the ispot power plug with the multi-plug five cable adaptor for use with other pedals also. It does work with this

  • how will this one work together with my vox ac4tv?

  • THIS LOVE BY PANTERA FTW!

  • this sounds pretty good, i would consider substituting this for my DD7, the analog mode ('vintage') is fairly convincing and tap tempo is useful.

  • how can i set a dotted 8th?

  • Anyone else notice the knobs moving at the end of the video?

  • Hello, does this compare to the TRex?

  • great delay tones!! :)

  • whats the first song youre playing?

  • Hulk Delay!?

  • Just curious,,,,if true bypass and analog are so important, why wouldn't the master Satch himself design his own pedal this way??? Does it really make that much of a difference?? (In other words, if a pedal isn't 'true bypass' will it really affect the amp sound that much ???? Thanks for the help..

  • @SublimeAce5 It really depends on the buffer. Some buffers are good and some are bad. For example, the buffer in the Klon Centaur is imo, nice. I like buffers, I like to mix bufferred pedals with non bufferred ones. You need to check out the true vs non true bypass debate really, htere are lots on articles on the interwebs.

  • tc nova repeater or this one?

  • doesnt realy compare to the dd20 or timebender

  • GUitar World Magazine and Jum Dunlop have some sweet video demos !!!

And man do the People Love em

  • Comment removed

  • Hey i am planing getting some pedals to my pedal board, i play almost everything in the rock genre. I play Les Paul. if some of these pedals are good or bad, then answer me please.

Tubescreamer or Vox Satchurator Vox Timemachine delay or MXR Carbon copy delay Boss FRV-1 fender reverb Boss CE-5 chorus or MXR black label chorus Maybe replace the crybaby standard wah with the new Cantreel wah.

  • This is a killer pedal. Cmon really who needs pedals with 100 knobs and options? If the tone is good you won't have problem using it. And this one has great tone to it. Buy it

  • Love this pedal from Joe satriani

    John

  • i won this at a guitar contest! THANK YOU GOD!!

  • @mateivornicu me too!!

  • i tried this at guitar center today and expected it to be bull, i had tried the hardwire digital delay right before. I was sold the minute i turned the pedal on!!

I was thinking, im a blues and funk guy, not a satch guy but hell this pedal is amazing!

  • between this and the T-Rex, regardless of the price and both being digital. I'd go for this anytime, it's more wacky and versatile. killer pedal designed by a killer player.

  • I'm usually not into glorfying pedals. The TM has less options than e.g. a Nova, it's digital, bulky, and lacks spill-over.

This thing rulse for me, though: Although digital, it sounds very analogue-ish, all features useful, no hum, reliable. I've had it for almost a year now, and it has defended its place on my board successfully so far.

BTW Kudos to PGS for their customer service!

  • Wow those triplets sound epic.

  • What is the difference between digital and analog delay?

  • That another brick in the wall delay in the beginning was perfect! Haha :P

  • It can do sounds like my old Maestro Echoplex - those were a lot of fun. Mine was "Updated" to use an 8-track tape for the loop. Those were the days -

  • Is it analog or digital?

  • @Nimrod9458 digital

  • Sounds damn good!

At 2:40 though it claims to be lo-fi but it's actually in hi-fi.

  • i want to hear how well it handles distortion

  • then you should watch the whole video...

  • well it is satriani's pedal, so it has to handle distortion very well

  • Aint this just an Artec SE-ADL in a fancier box and with a few extra knobs?

  • No, its a Boss Ds-1 Except its green, has more knobs, and is a delay pedal.

  • This pedal is by far the best delay pedal I've ever played and the easiest to use. Get one

  • how do you get that noise at 0:36???

  • that nose happens with all delays pretty much when you are adjusting the delay while there's sound from the guitar. i dont know how to explaine it but imagin your changing the delay so the soudn keeps shifting itself back and forth to keep up

  • @faggotball you turn the feebdack all the way up so the echo doesn't drift off, and you can speed it up and slow it down with the time knob. switching with the range knob will also get you a faster sound as well. this pedal rules. ive had it for 4 months now.

  • if you turn the "time" knob while holding a note or chord. That guy in bloc party does it in the solo on that song "Positive Tension" if yowant to check that out

  • It has a sterile lack luster digital tone to it, nothing warm about this petal. Joe Satriani might have his name on it but I really doubt he uses this trashy petal.

  • @harryflocyberman satriani uses boss dd-3

  • you must not have seen his chickenfoot rig, he uses 2 time machines! dont blame the tool blame the carpenter this pedal is bad ass

  • joe has always used two delay pedals, one slow one faster

  • whats the songs hes playing?

  • Correct me if Im wrong but it doesnt appear as though this pedal can be run in "true" stereo delay. Looks like you can run two amps with one amp getting your dry sound without delay and the other getting the delay sound without the dry signal. To me this is a major problem for those wanting to run in stereo (2 amps). You wont be able to get ping pong delays or lush separation.

  • Got the satchurator gettin this for christmas. The saturator kicks ass and gives me eargasms so i hope the time machine lives up to the satchurator!!

  • same here haha. I just got the satchurator and the time machine is on my christmas list! i cant wait

  • HALLELUJA !!!!

  • Anyone run their Time Machine through the loop in the back of their amp? One review I read states where a guy couldn't run his through his amps loop in the back because he said the Time machine's input/Output was not strong enough for Line Level. Anyone here run their Time machine through the back of their amp?

  • Got this pedal and it works brilliant in the amps loop.

  • @Berlingodoener

is it totally transparent when its off?

i cant turn the effects loop in my amp on and off so its engaged all the time... i need true bypass

  • Works just fine in the fx loop, plenty of output

  • i tried it out at the store, although i didnt actually try it in front of my amp. But it didnt feel like there was a volume drop. Not that i could tell, since i never actually compared it to in front, lol

  • The loop on my Splawn has a -10db setting for pedals, and a +4db setting for line level/rack mount type gear. Maybe the guy's amp only did +4db line level.

  • hmm, that crazy stuff at the end reminds me of joe satrianis "searching", taht crazy delay solo :)

  • can you put this in a boss pedal board

  • I'm a bit of a spaz at tapping the button accurately for just one beat so I set it to eighth note mode and tap after two beats for more accuracy

  • i've never thought of doing that. good idea.

  • will this be good for eric johnson type stuff?

  • Well even better it's for Joe Satriani type stuff!

  • i just got one of these, best delay ever imho

  • not quite the same as dr whos time machine!

  • precipitation

  • this or the carbon copy? T_T

  • this...tap tempo is vary inportant...

  • I kinda need help! im trying to decide if I should get the Time Machine or the DD-7

  • A VERY cool pedal, really... The sound is great it has only one very big flaw for the tap along delay guitarists. Yes, it has a tap tempo feature but you've got to preset it. Tapping along during your playing will cause the delay to restart and cut off your feedbacks... Pity, I almost bought this pedal because it's awesome. But I need a tap ALONG function like many other pedals have...

  • Do you think I should get the boss delay or time machine?

  • The sound reminds me more of Gilmour than Satriani to be honest.

  • Sounds perfect then!

  • it sure is pretty analog voices, weird when knowing that joe uses/used dd3s on his pedalboard

  • Nothing Special. Also it didn't sell me as much as the distortian comercial did but that was frankly a better effect in my opinion

  • hey PGS could u do a demo of the big bad wah no one has done a gd one yet it would be brillaint

  • They will I guarantee it

  • hopefully sometime soon i really wanna get it lol

  • half of this pedal's function is like a dd3.

  • yh course this is pretty much a better version joe used the DD3 b4 s its just a dd3 with better features and a better version

  • i just recently purchased this pedal.

    and it sounds amazing

i def. recommend this pedal to everyone.

  • What exactly does the Time knob do? I never totally understood that

  • the 'level' adjust the volume of the effect.

the 'time' adjust the time of the repeats.

the 'feedback' adjust the number of repeats. that's a standard in any delay pedal. ;o)

  • Makes you go forward of backwards in time man.

  • He also has a signature wah pedal that's coming out soon.

  • does anybody knows the price for this pedal?

  • about $200

  • oh,tnx :-)

  • Comment removed

  • Just got mine this week and I'm very pleased. What sets it apart in my mind is the dry/wet mix control. You can set a faint delay that doesn't overwhelm your output, but hangs in there for maybe two or three repeats when you silence your guitar - awesome! Level control at 9 o'clock is just right for me.

It's got everything you get with the T-Rex Replica at half the price. And power consumption is a low 60mA and since it runs at 9 volts it drops right into my pedal chain. Killer.

  • Hello!

It's good you've got this pedal!

Bro, I have only 1 question. Kinda fooly but... There is a friend that can buy me one and I'm looking for all the information about it. Well, where has it been made??? Only that. thanks. Greets from Peru.

  • made in USA

  • Wow. When the TIME knob was switched....MIND BLOWN!!!

That's pretty cool. I think I've found the Delay pedal I have been looking for.

  • I heard it has a little bit of distortion in its circuits. Is that just for the vintage mode or not?

  • The Vintage mode has some extra saturation to the delay signal just like a tape delay would. Thanks,

    PGS

  • Some extra "Satchuration" :D

  • Is it True Bypass?

    Is it Analog?

  • Nope

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos i have the line 6 dm wich one is the best ?

  • 2:39 Pantera- This love? Dime used a MXR Flanger Doubler for that tone, But a Chorus Nails the Tone Perfectly! Delay doesn't Fit right for that riff though...

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos I thought I read somewhere this was analog. This is digital?

  • @theShowStopper321 analog

  • @lucrosss - Nope. Digital.

    -PGS

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos Owww. Some people sayd me that digital doesn't work so good !

  • @lucrosss - Those people are wrong. That might have been true 20 years ago, but digital has come a long way since then. Modern digital pedals are generally excellent. Just use your ears.....

    -PGS Crew

  • @lucrosss fuck that, the edge uses only digital delay! and he sounds amazing!

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos So it's not true bypass correct?

  • does anyone know if this has delay spillover when you turn the delay off???

  • No, the on-off switch kills it instantly.

  • what it means?

sorry.. im a begginer in the delays world

  • What that means is the delay doesn't finish what it started before you turned it off. So instead of your 3 second delay echoing even after its off, it just STOPS.

  • ive got one! (for myself)

  • is it true bypass

  • Has anyone else hit the Nova Delay button on the right and compared these two? I think them crazy Danes have this thing pretty whipped for about the same price IMHO.

  • agreed!

  • I WANT ONE!!

  • Hi. Just curious if the tap tempo needs 2 or 4 taps to set the time?

  • it's 2 taps, but most guitarists don't have amazing feel for timing, so they use the first 2 taps to get going, to "warm up", if you will, and then they use the last 2 to get the correct tempo in.

  • Does anyone know the name of the song that comes in at ~ 2:10?

  • Satch has been creating some great pedals with the Vox team

  • hahaha, i love oscillation on these delay pedals

  • this is a really nice delay !! nice features for the price ~ great review .. as always .

  • 0:36 sounds like a video game LOL

  • Of the very, very few effects pedals I'd ever want to own, this one is near the top of the list. What a fantastic little box!

  • Wow, nice sounding pedal. Love the Satchurator, figures this would be another impressive addtion to the VOX/Satch lineup.

  • Digital, Analog or both modes???

  • I'm pretty sure all of Satch's pedals are analog

  • This ones digital, let down... he always used a couple of boss digital delays though.

  • That's a PRISTINE sounding delay. Love all the bells and whistles too.

  • Screw the DD3. I'm selling mine and buying this thing.

  • yeah the dd3 is okay, it sounds too sterile

  • I hate it when a pedals tap tempo switch does another function.

    Sounded good though!

  • For what it's worth, It takes a full 2 seconds to switch modes so it's very hard to accidently change modes while Tapping the tempo.

    -Andy

  • just wanted to say! Andy, i LOVE all ur demos, the best by MILLIONS OF MILES on youtube...keep it up PGShop

  • anyone know if its true bypass or not? ticks every other box

  • Doesn't look like it, sadly.

Loopmaster takes care of that, however... ;-)

  • i know the MXR carbon copy has it

  • it isnt but because the way it is wired it doesn't make to much difference really. can't remember the exact details someone was explaining it to me the other day.

  • sounds great, a looks awesome..love the green

  • sick

  • Thats it I'm getting one!
