  • Thanks for your test. This is the first test of the Yest (or Snowball) I've found that didn't have significant digital artifacts in the high freq that sound like old fashioned bit quantization error (grit that makes it sound very harsh and grainy). It may be your attention to levels. Is this the Pro or the plain old Yeti? It came up under Yet Pro search.

  • @bab008 Follow up...looking at a few more Yeti and Yeti Pro it seems this Blue's USB mics don't handle overdrive in the mic's gain stage graciously. Apparently it's very easy to get digital clipping on these mics--so to anyone reading, turn the mic gain knob down a bit and turn up the gain in your recording software instead.
