  • I'm going to get Need For Speed: Guru Larry Edition for my PS1. I wonder how much it cost?

  • Skanky Seaside Arcade, Legend of Curly's Gold, Guru Larry Edition, Pinball Construction Set? Seems legit...

  • Such a great game, my friends had a 3do and we would stay up all night teeing off in the cop cars for maximum crashiness.

  • I am playing this currently on the Saturn, a REAL one, its awesome, since I grew up playing the computer version, but the Saturn version is better since it has more cars and tracks.

  • I have this game for my Sega Saturn and it is a pretty decent racing game. Mind you the 3DO version was by far the best version back in the day, beating the PS1 and Saturn version. The same can be said for the 3DO version of Road Rash. Great to see this game in action again. I would love to get my hands on a 3DO I must buy one some day.

  • i abosolutely loved this game on the saturn! keep up the good work Guru Larry!

  • I went to a cabin a couple years ago and they had a PSX and this was one of the games they had. I later saw the 3DO version and bought it.

  • Road and track? WHAT? I love that show :D

How could those lame assholes even come up with the idea of sponsoring a videogame? It's simply not in them.

  • Guru larry edition

    Pinball construction set

    Rofl mao

  • use to love that game on the 3DO it was well better then ps1 just think what it would be like 2day if it was still around it was the first console to bring out THE NEED FOR SPEED game just like it was the first console to bring out RETURN FIRE what a console it was brill

  • Porsche Unleashed was my favourite of the series.

  • Heh...Pinball Creator, I wish...

  • Need for Speed: Pinball Construction Set

  • The Guru Larry Edition? The Skanky Seaside Edition? Oh you kid. lol.

    STAY AWESOME mate! :)

  • £700?

    I paid £80 got 2 controllers, 2 infrared contollers & sindicate plus nfs. 1998.

    fuck poor 3DO bombed....

  • £700?

    I paid £80 got 2 controllers, 2 infrared contollers & sindicate plus nfs. 1998.

    fuck poor 3DO bombed....

  • Love need for speed but never heard of Need for Speed: Guru Larry edition is it any good?

  • it redefined the road racing genre despite being, at core, an advanced version of test drive. also pushed the 3do console really well.

  • Did I hear you correctly? It can be played on the PS3?

  • The PS1 version can yeah!

  • @ScrewAttackEurope But the 3DO version is so much better than the PS1 version..

  • You've played it?

I got it on the Saturn a few days ago, not tried it yet.

  • @ScrewAttackEurope I have played it on the PS1 and it already started to get that arcade type of feel to it,it lost the physics engine that the 3DO version has. I too have a Saturn and would like to know what you think of it before I buy the game.

  • Well it's only $3-$4 now anyway so you can't really go wrong for that price.

But I'll let you knwo when I boot it up!

  • @ScrewAttackEurope what do you want, a hero biscuit?

  • Three bucks per game? Dang...

  • I never realised that V-Rally was a NFS game before now.

  • it never wasn't, the EA bought the game rights, and released it under the NFS name to boost sales

  • I wanna play the Guru Larry edition and the Pinball Construction Set version!

  • 3do games work on the ps3??????!?

  • Three dolars only??? realy

  • Yup, tis true!

  • Back in the day I would rent the system and this game from the vido rental store, I think blockbuster... Anyway this is what need for speed series needs to get back to, which I think it might with the 3 new ones coming out soon, but 1 track.. 30 miles long and it's just you against traffic... THAT is a real driving simulator. Throw all the tracks you want at us but there is a reason people like the nurburgring, cause it's long and wonderful to drive.

  • Agreed.

  • I was hoping someone had the FMVs to the 3DO version, thank you! XD

My favorite: "Shoulder. does the word 'Shoulder' mean anything to you?!'

  • yah thanks for the memory lane trip.

  • No problemmo ^_^

  • I can has hero biscuit? :)

  • Still my favourite Need For Speed game, not to mention my fave 3DO game.

I chuckled at the quick flash of the PS3 :D

  • Thanks dude, Love doing flash jokes.

  • by far the best need for speed i miss my 3do

  • You can pick them up for next to nothing on eBay now!

    I'd recommend an FZ-10 though, they're awesome.

  • in the start you talk about ea and there 14 yr journey with need for speed. but i thought ea had nothing to do with the first need for speed i thought it was all road and track. im prob. wrong jus checkin

  • well ea published it.

  • did the need for speed on pc and ps1 have the cockpit view?

  • PS1 version definitely did, not played the PC one, but I can't see why that one wouldn't.

  • COOL

  • Heehee the RacerX guy reminds me of Sawyer on Lost.

I remember him, my favorite quip was when he made fun of you for trashing a $200,000 sports car.

I loved this this game, this version. High Stakes ended up being me favorite though.

  • is high stakes the fourth one?

i live in germany and here there is no NFS called high stakes

  • I think it's the fourth of Fifth.

  • NFS Carbon, ProStreet and Undercover sucked balls, even more the new one. Think about what we will see next years in NFS gameplay.

  • when need for speed guro larry editions 2 comes out im sooooooooo buying it!

  • xD Need For Speed: Pinball Construction Set...I laughed so hard when i read that. And the Need for Speed: Guru Larry Edition. that would of been the best game EVER!...One question. What is with the Pinball Construction Set Injoke. Can you explain it for me? xD

  • It's not really an in-joke, we pocked a random EA game noones heard of or remade in 15 years at random and kept it running as a regular joke.

  • That and who the hell would enjoy a game about building a digital pinball machine? We just over hyped it to make it sound incredibly popular :D

  • The only really good NFSs are NFS II, NFS Underground 2 and NFS Most Wanted. All other NFSs are for mainstream retards without the knowledge of good games...

  • NFS III was my favourite.

  • Ah well, I forgot that one.

  • How can you forget such a wonderful title that came on the early days of the PSone? XD

That game was the highlight of my PS1 days. It got me into racing. I always drove the Countach because of the futuristic look it had back then (and still does) even though it sucked.

The best racing game so far is Burnout 3. Ironically its sequels sucked. So maybe there's a connection between 3rd games being best while subsequent games sucking? Silent Hill 3 is another example...

    NFSCarbon was awesome btw.

  • Need for Speed 3. That game was my FIRST EVER Racing Title for my big old PS1 back in 1997 when I was 7 years old! And I didn't even pick that game.

My father bought the games at random or at the vendor's recommendation, and I can still remember myself playing that game every single day, enjoying the views, visiting offroad areas (such as the secret passages and Gas Station) and beating ghost mode.

I can still remember the commentator's voice in my ear like it was yesterday.

    Countach FTW.

  • 3:27

Wait,Guru Larry had his own Need For Speed Game?!

  • Like test drive?

  • Nooo, Not like Test Drive! :D

  • ¡ɯıɥ ʇɐ ǝʌıɹp ʇsǝʇ ɟo ʎdoɔ ɐ ʍoɹɥʇ p,ı puɐ

{And i'd throw a copy of test drive at him!)

  • The discription is wrong! It is the one for the zelda one.

  • Oh yeah, thanks for the heads up!!!

  • 2:34 Planet of the apes referance?

  • Correct!!! how did you do that timing thing in your comment?

  • The referance had me laughing for ages hehe... Oh, and the timing thing happens automatically when you write it. Try it out on somebody's video.

  • weird now whan i see it all the need for speed games from 2003 and up are shit. but from 2003 and back they whar cool :)

  • Yeah, they were really designed as driving simulators, (possibly to compete with Accolade's "Test Drive" series also) and was really designed just for the thrill of driving a sports car as realistically as then technology would allow.

Not all this ricer/chav shit that they've turned it into nowadays.

  • COOL

  • lol need for speed guru larry edition

  • you cheekey little bastard calling us poor

  • Both, in Panasonic money $1=£1

  • I found a 3DO in some dirt on my way home from the shops! I plugged it in and it still worked!(but barely)

Good look back though for NFS, where do you get all these games to get the footage?

  • Really? Which 3DO did you have?

well a lot of the games I used for the Retro Corner, I bought from a local Cash Converters and from an old game shop from holiday on the Isle if Wight.

But you can pick them up on eBay now, or if your naughty, there's a few sites where you can DL them and burn to a CD, no copy protection in those days!

  • No idea...Didn't have any games with it anyway and worked very little...in fact, its better off as food.

  • It probably just needs a bit of cleaning out, if it works, then it means its definetly repairable.

  • "YOU MAINIACS!!!" lmao thats off Madagascar init ?

  • You are seriously joking right?

  • nope thats where i heard that quote from lol!

  • It's from the Original Planet of The Apes (it's also where the reference to the half buried Statue of Liberty comes from too)

  • ahh i see :P!

  • Need for speed:Pinball construction set ftw!

  • I have the old Need for Speed III for PC

  • Need for Speed III is prolly my favourite of the series, love the police chases in it.

  • ye its pretty cool

  • need for speed:legend of curly's gold?

    need for speed:skanky seaside arcade?

    need for speed:Guru Larry Edition?

    awesome.

  • "In this weeks edition Guru Larry takes a look at the pariah of the Zelda franchise, The Philips developed "Link: The faces of Evil" for it's system the CD-i. A title so bad, that Nintendo has never even acknowleged its existance."

    wrong video :P

  • theres a guru larry edition?!?!?!? i wants it!

  • He's only on the 3DO version GalphasG. This game taught me how to drive.

    ND4SPD4LYFE!!!!!!

  • COOL

  • heheheheheheheheaahaHahahAHHAahahHAHA

    hilarious PS3 reference.

    hilarious game!

  • Its the option where you have a picture of two cars, rather than just the one.

Also you need to have the difficulty on normal.

  • Hahahaha i loved the planet of the apes refrence :)

  • You need to have the game set to "challenge mode" to be able to see him, if you've just got it in drive mode you won't see him.

  • Where can I find the Guru Larry edition XD

  • lol did i see the statue of liberty floating in the river?

  • Need For Speed: Pinball Construction Set, lol

    Guru Larry kicks ass!!!

  • LOL, Need for Speed: Guru Larry Edition... I just caught that.

  • yeah me too

  • ohh hero biscuit plz

    DA DA DA DAAAAAAAAAAAA

    *you got the hero biscuit!

    Now go away*

  • An incredible milestone in gaming history! Whips the later, unrealistic NFS-games any day.

  • i want the guru larry edition!

  • Oh, you got the description wrong! ;D

  • Looks like a decent game, for its time.

  • Mine's dead :(

  • What is a 3DO? some kind of console or arcade?

  • Console that costed 700 bucks in fucking 1993.

  • PS3 anyone?

  • Come on, the PS3 was expensive but it was no where near £700 and that was in 1993 so the value of money was greater.

Do you not think the 'ooh look how expensive the PS3 is' gags are getting a little tired now?

  • The PS3's still expensive. It says a lot about a system when it drops $200 in price and it's STILL comically expensive.

  • Well any console that has ever sold for more than $300 has bombed. So Sony really should have sold them at least a $100 loss and made it back on game sales.

  • if i'm not mistaken they are making a loss for every ps3 they sell.

  • And Need for speed: Pinball contruction Set! ROFL!

  • 3:27 Need For Speed: Guru Larry Edition! XD

  • PSH. The playstation version was better and you know it. :P

  • Nice review. It's unfair to compared the Megadrive version of Test Drive to a 3DO game, besides the SNES verision was great.

  • I gotta find need for speed:guru Larry edition.

  • It's compatable for PS3!? It's not like I have it or anything, but woah!

  • I think your video description is a bit off :P

  • ...Did that guy just call me Melvin?

    What a jerk.

  • Your accent is funny xD! Really typical British!

  • LOL in the list of games

Need for speed : Guru Larry edition.

  • Brilliant corner episode as always Larry but i belive you have put up the wrong YouTube description buddy. ^.^

  • Guru Larry!

    FTW!

  • Yay! Love your vids. :3

  • here some munnie

  • As great as your reviews are, I do enjoy the 'stinger' clips at the end of your videos. After enjoying your Hero Biscuit, try a Champion Crumpet! Yum Yum!

  • LMAO, yeah, I love ending videos on a gag ^_^

  • With Some Winner's Jam!

  • You two really do these old, obscure games right. I enjoy hearing about these games instead of just classics and crappy games.

Continue the great work, lads. You got a certain reviewing style, but always do something original to spice it up.

    Have a great day.

  • LMFAO at the Planet of the Apes reference.

  • *Where would we be with out our yearly FIFA Madden and Pinball Construction set* LMFAO Larry I think really love that game ^^ Great video I am loving these GLRC Videos.

  • lol WOW, I just to thought that was realistic xD

  • too bad the 3DO costed 700$ or I would of bought it! XD

The sad thing is, the 3DO had definate potential. Why did it have to fail before it aquired some good games?

  • Nice Job! Way better than my NFS 3DO Review :)

  • Don't say that, I thought yours was pretty decent!

  • Oh God! The 3DO. It was as expensive as almost 2 360's! Poor thing could have been the next big thing in gaming.

  • I had the PS1 version, it was pretty fun at the time. I love the "Legend of Curly's Gold" gag you threw in there.

  • Thanks dude, it was really a refrence to a joke in our Pop Up review of Fight Night Round 3 which people seemed to like!

It's also a gag on what stupid titles they give sequels to games now.
