A step up into unlocking tech :D Just need to make it portible and faster..... Then every High School kids would have a happy time raiding lockers "unnotice".
@SmallShark It attempts combinations using what we like to call "intelligent brute force". It takes a lot of factors into account such as the tolerance of the lock (basically you can forget the odd numbers even exist) and certain impossible combinations, which cuts the possible number of combinations down by a very large number and enables us to solve the lock extremely quickly.
Cool project. I can't help but think it would have been a much better video if you'd left out the music and just let us hear the sound of the mechanism itself. For me, the music was a bit distracting. Still, pretty cool project.
@yusufsheth We intentionally designed the system such that it could be very easily modified for other locks or locks that were actually attached something. That said we were also very conscious of the legality of the system. We didn't want to design something that could be interpreted as a machine intended to be used for theft.
@griffithd05 Haha sorry. There are a couple typos and instances of redundancy such as the GUI reference. The video was originally intended as a casual presentation for our small class. We didn't expect such viewership and thus never made a final video form.
A silent version for international viewers is in the works. This redundancy error will be fixed there.
permutations & combinations....i was expecting some audio sensor to capture the clicking sound....like actual thieves do by placing their ear on the wall of the safe
@avnsun We considered this, but the technology required to do this was well outside our budget. Also, such a system would not work well in an environment with any noise.
@zitonguito I agree. However, the video was intended as the deliverable for our class assignment, thus we needed to include all the details and it ended up being a long video.
can i buy it?

"The user interface GUI..."
The redundancy department of redundant affairs sent you an email stating a letter is in the mail about calling you about that sentence.

or, if you have the correct locksmithing permits (or are in law enforcement) you can just get the codebooks from masterlock.
or get them secondhand. ahem.
