I tried doing wet bantu twist outs last night. But when I woke up my hair was still wet. Did your hair dry naturally? I tried various u-tube videos but no one says how they got their hair dry.

@Dalena08 depends on the length of time you dry and the products and amounts of products you use, also it matters what size the section are.

@Dalena08 I guessing they used a bobby pin or hair curl pins to hold the knots in place and use a blow dryer to dry.

@alwaysclassy62 Thank you! There are options you can put on a hair net then a satin bonnet at night or you can loosely section and gently twist up and cover with satin bonnet or scarf

My Mom used to do this to my hair after she washed it and send me out to play in the sun for t to dry... (My Grandmother used to do it to them too)...I hated it until she took them out. Now I do this every summer when I swim It works great for vacations and such where their are planned events family reunions and you still need to look good after swimming. My Family is big on natural hair so you learn versatility as you go along. I love the segement you did on the Faux Hawk

@TayAmani Thank You! and that is a great suggestion for after swimming because after you swim and wash your hair you have to either rock a pony or a bun or go through heat styling if you have somewhere to go an you want to look more polished!

@DJshayna Did you us a good conditioner and thoroughly detangle, and you shouldnt pull hair too tight because while putting your bantu knots in the tension increases with each knot... so firm but not too tight!

@SueSue1919 No...I did these bantu knots on wet/damp hair (slightly toweled dryed is best and re-moisten as you go along to keep hair damp as it begins to dry!

IMO If you did twelve or more bantu knots depending on you thickness maybe more and work with damp well moisturized hair makin sure the parts are not to big and that your ends are sealed you wont have too much poof

I was afraid it would untwist so I used bobby pins to secure it at the base but this time I did it without any pins and didn't come down I just made sure to take the very end of my hair wind it at the base of the bantu knot and sort of pull in towards the centet of the knot... stayed in perfectly if you want to see how let me know!

I love it. Your hair is beautiful. How did you achieve your length? Do you have a videos about your hair journey? I tried the pin curls and loved them, but the bantu knots look great also. These styles are great protective styles. Keep doing these videos as I enjoy all the great tips.

I achieved my length by retaining over the years.. even when my hair was long and then cut growing it back out took dedication and developing what people call a "regimin" but now I can say I have really taken notice to what i do to my hair and when.
