A few years ago, I was a christian who also accepted the theory of evolution. While watching TV with my mom, I realized she rejected evolution because she believed the creation tale in the Bible. I tried to explain that evolution was a fact, but she didn't believe me. While trying to show my mom all the evidence, I began to question dogma and my own belief in god.

Human's first appeared about 250 000 to 100 000 years ago. Where do you get millions of years? Population growth is variable. Weather, food, virus and bacteria outbreaks, new knowledge and technology, geological events, war, all effect the human population. To take today's growths rate, assume its always been the same and use that to prove the earth is young is just not correct. There is so much evidence for evolution the debate is over. I don't get how people come to the conclusion that he's a liar.
There r 2 simple reasons why he's not:
#1. The facts he presents have evidence shown right there to support it (the reference to newspapers, etc)
#2. Whenever he has an OPINION, he says so CLEARLY - he starts by saying "I think"
Even if his theory is WRONG, it's just his theory, & he SAYS that.

A few years ago, I was a christian who also accepted the theory of evolution. While watching TV with my mom, I realized she rejected evolution because she believed the creation tale in the Bible. I tried to explain that evolution was a fact, but she didn't believe me. While trying to show my mom all the evidence, I began to question dogma and my own belief in god.

If evolution were true, we would have about 150,000 people per square inch. The population appears to have started with a few people a few thousands years ago, evolution says the population stayed at around 50,000 for millions of years, that's not the way populations grow. ie. a stalactite has grown on leaky plumbing in a few years, therfore all stalactites formed in a short time and the world is young.
a) they formed under very different conditions
b) nobody said that paticular stalactite was around at the beginning of the universe. It only gives a minimum age of the earth, not a maximum.

Human's first appeared about 250 000 to 100 000 years ago. Where do you get millions of years? Population growth is variable. Weather, food, virus and bacteria outbreaks, new knowledge and technology, geological events, war, all effect the human population. To take today's growths rate, assume its always been the same and use that to prove the earth is young is just not correct. There is so much evidence for evolution the debate is over.
