  • I like this routine. Is this routine ok to do for a beginner who is lifting weights? I havent come up with a routine during my leg day.

    This video was posted in June. They most likely changed their routine up a bit. Though yeah, it is a bit confusing. Calf exercises or not, their workout splits have greatly improved my gains in the past few weeks.

  • BROTHERS I do not agree at all, as for ischios (harmstrings) curls are much much better, both on a horizontal as on a vertical bench or chair. Second best is dead lifts not too heavy but with strictly streight legs. The excercise you show is on a third place, but more for lower back.... SORRY !

  • @1984THB yeah I had taut like half a year ago. Pulsing pain at the back of my head that instanty takes you out. I just cooked it for like 4-5 days an it was fine. I thought it was something more and had ct scans and what not but it's just pinched muscles or nerves or w.e in your neck and head.

    had to cool it from the gym for a few weeks boys because of this cant even have sex without it flaring up. Just wondered if you know anybody or ever have experienced it yourselves. I was doing high rep squats, got to about the 20 rep range and had a bad headache at the back of my head!

    Ive done a similar thing before, it simply takes time to fix iteself. Go to a doctor if you want, but i didnt i dont have any permanent effects (1 year ago when it was done)

  • hey! I wear Timberland construction boots when working out. It doesn't really matter, as along you get a good workout.

    They do not replace deadlifts in any way but they will strengthen, yes, as they are like advanced supermans even though it is an exercise for hamstrings and glutes.

  • @milotist no, it won't.... after you hit puberty, lift away! It's only little kids (like 5-12) doing weights that will see their growth stunted as far as I know.

    When you're going through puberty you will make some serious gains very fast if you work out correctly and eat right (bodybuilding diet).

Doing calf raises puts little to no stress on your lower back atall... I can only assume your a stupid meat head who knows nothing about how his body and muscles work!   • thanks for the reply back to the first comment I agree knee joints are weak but a full range of motion is always needed to extend and contract fully the muscles epsecally during a warm up, yet as I say to my clients including myself if you feel it in the muscles great if you feel it in the joints too much there is a fine line cheat reps are ok towards the end of a set and last few reps but not at the beginning. keep up up anyway guys like your honesty but again like always its personal prefrence

  • guys sorry but have to pick folt with your technique, as a personal trainer looking at the video first mistake personaly is you dont use the fully range of motion on the leg extenstion machine, you did half reps, the same problem on the calf raises full stretch at the bottom, also disagree with back extenstions for the hamstrings true romian deadlifts with a light weight, I know about your back problems I myself have syatica hence i dont squat ever.

  • @jamesbunyard23 You are correct about the calf exercise, however I have to disagree on leg extensions. It depends on the weight you are using. Of course they should be doing with a lower weight to do the full range of motion but don't forget that knee joints are week in the lower part of the movement and with that amount of weight they could be damaged with a "full range" of motion. Btw..they are just warming-up...leg extensions are an overall terrible exercise for legs.

  • Anyone that plans on doing the glut / hamstring raises, I would suggest holding a 25-35lb Olympic weight against your chest. I do it, and its a killer workout for my lower back.

  • Unless you're competing or you're an athlete, squats are a waste. You're gonna squat more and more until finally you pull something. Yeah, it's the best for adding strength and muscle fast, but why risk it if you're just working out for the aesthetics? Sooner or later you're gonna take a snooze on one of the reps, everyone does from time to time, and pull something that will keep you outta the gym for a month..fuck up your back one time and it'll linger forever.

  • twinmuscle try using donkey calf raises (you can use a dip belt) they really get a good stretch and develop mass quickly in the calves

  • Thats not a glute-ham raise... this is a hyper extension! But look up glute-ham raise because that is more effective than leg curls.

  • As far as I know 1:28 is called hyperextensions, and it is a mainly lower back exercise.

  • @eduardoq011 it depends how you do it, you can make it to really hit the glutes and hamstrings if you "thrust" rather than raise
