interesting how reyes does not smile anymore when it happens to him...whenever he makes a mistake he looks like he's about to beat somebody , unlike earl who probably does :)...
This guy... Efern Reyes is just one heck of a character. His face always looks like he's going ^_^ even when he's kind of in a pinch. He's definitely my favorite pool player.
efren demonstrated a common negligence in this game done by some younger, less inexperienced players when you don't bother getting the balls out from inside the pocket before you sink another... somehow the balls inside could make the incoming ball bounce out of the pocket....unfortunately, the master himself commited such a mistake hehe. well anyways...efren won that match but it certainly left one heck of an unforgetable uncanny experience in the world of billiards..... peace yah all !
Not a good advertisement for plastic pockets or the taper of the pocket. Both players used a medium draw stroke that gripped the plastic just enough to keep the ball from dropping correctly. Not a pocket design you find often in a professional tournament for those very reasons.
Nobody gives chance to anyone and definitely not Efren. It's not a practice session or what - it's world champs and players play to their max. Here's just the 1:1000 000 chances of such sequence of jumping out ball - same ball, same pocket, same game, two times in a row
@Valdinsh not quite... i noticed that when in proper speed im shooting ball straight in pocket with draw spin balls have much more tendency to jump back out! don't know why is that so, but i was testing it and had few jumps in a row!
And this from a company that has been manufacturing (for the most part very good, one might add!) billiards tables for 164 years?! Even if this TV table probably was not set up perfectly (slate looming too far into the pockets, so that there's too little space between the indeed cheap plastic pocket and the edge of the slate - note how the ball starts dropping, then flies up again on its way back), that source of trouble should long since have been eliminated in the first place.
Piece of shit pockets is what it is. When the ball hits the back side of the pocket, it is supposed to count. Had it been a money match, Kaplan would've been credited the 8.
If it was a money match and the ball didn't fall, what person in their right mind would hand away money? Both players are playing on the same table and have to contend with the so called POS pockets. Its not a disadvantage to one without being the same to the other.
No, you normally set an agreement prior to the match because one of the players is aware of the way the pocket plays. Players know to avoid such disputes after the game starts.
You are supposed to be able to tell before you play, because you shoot some balls prior to the match, right? You don't just start gambling. You have a chance to find out.

the pocket is not full of balls. the part of the pocket that must be added to the table is blend, so it returns the balls to the table.
