  • I wish you would have been standing while you were doing this, so we can get a better idea of the look and fit of the jacket on you. I don't really need to see your face 90% of the time.

  • Adam - Hope your holidays were great. I plan on getting this coat in green soon. Should I order this in my regular size or should I order a size smaller/bigger than what I normally wear? Also, an idea for all those pockets would be, esp if you're wearing one layer is to have hand warmers in each pocket. that way if you are out and about and it gets colder than anticipated then you can use these to stay relatively warm - a short term solution but still a good idea. Take it easy and happy '11.

  • Does the shell have chest pockets on it over the top of the velcro'ed pockets? And is the outter shell insulated or just a water/wind proof layer?

  • @techraven2 , there are chest pockets on the shell and the fleece. The shell is also no that insulated.

  • i went to the site they have a 3 in 1 parka and a 5 in 1 jacket so witch one do you have ?

  • @crazyratbastered , the 5 in 1

  • good job 5 for 5

  • Thanks for the review. A great coat, I love it, only negative is that it's a bit on the heavy side.

I think that you have the "5 in 1" parka because the fleece has removable sleeves. I have the 3 in 1 without the removable sleeves. It is a slightly longer cut.

Also DO NOT dry clean it (5.47). Read the washing instructions. Waterproof breathable fabrics should be cool washed with a suitable soap (like Nikwax products). Don't use conditioner on either the fleece or outer-shell.

  • I think your right about the 5 in 1, it was ordered as a 3 in 1, never realized there was a difference. I the fleece on the 3 in 1 is different just checked the website, thanks for the catch! Also thanks for the heads up on the dry cleaning, take care,

  • Adam - 5/5 stars my friend. Great review and testimonial for the 5.11 Jacket.

  • Another good review. It would be interesting if you could show a mega budget alternative to this jacket, say a military surplus jacket, with similar options that can be paired with a fleece jacket.

  • I will look into it, thanks,

  • Good review Adam. I wear the 5.11response jacket and it works well, The only issue is on a super cold (remember where i live) day the wind just rips through it. If they were to add some fleece to it, it would be a great spring, fall jacket. As far as washing - I throw mine in the washer and it does the job. I dont know what the tag says for your model but some people i work with say they sperate the peices and just wash them in cold water and hang dry. Thanks again. BS/WU6

  • Great Review Adam!!!
