@Maggit cows were originally bred artificially from WILDLIFE. They can be spayed to reduce their numbers to return them to the wild. Most farmed mink in good farms are actually kept on for breeding (and as such live longer than those in the wild which in most cases don't live beyond their first year falling prey to hawks, owls and other predators) with the weekest ones being killed for fur therefore strengthening the species. U get good fur farms & bad 1's just like u get good cattle farms & bad 1's. Don't ever eat meat again because often cows are killed less humanely than at a good fur farm.
These are captive bred AMERICAN mink, most will die in the wild.Those that survive become invaders, destroying local populations of fish and birds and outcompete the smaller weaker European mink which is now endangered as a result of freed farm mink! I've bought a mink fur hat 1 winter ago in Montreal and I just love it. Top quality, great warmth, black tonality. I don't regret paying the extra over the beaver hat. My mink hat comes from a recognized farm. Mink is not endangered species. A fur farm is no different to a cattle farm - both should meet the highest standards & should treat the animals humanely. Just b-cause its fur u have a bias attitude instead of looking 4 facts. Most farmed mink in good farms are actually kept on for breeding (and as such live longer than those in the wild which in most cases don't live beyond their first year falling prey to hawks, owls and other predators) with the weekest ones being killed for fur therefore strengthening the species. U get good fur farms & bad 1's just like u get good cattle farms & bad 1's. Don't ever eat meat again because often cows are killed less humanely than at a good fur farm.

i say if people have farms i think you sure make it for PETS only not for fur. ALSO have them indoors in bigger cages with plastic bottoms.. MINKS have sensitive paws and the wire bars hurt them. when they are crowded they tend to kill off the weaker ones so that they can live. also if one is injured or week, you fucking care for them. do let it suffer. if its a broken bone, give them to a person to care for them dont kill it. Deep wound, pain relief and stay next to em till they have healed.

Fake fur is promoting real fur, except it causes much more harm to the environment in the making and lengthy decomposing of it. This is absolutely disgusting. These minks would not be pestering pets, and damaging the wild if they were not purposely bred for their fur. You think there are naturally this many of them roaming around? uh...no. They did nothing to deserve being killed for their fur. Only for our selfish wants.

To treat a living thing poorly simply because of what it is, is perhaps one of the biggest prejudices of all time. Fur farms and farms in general are allowed to mistreat animals because they are used for other purposes instead of being pets. Seriously someone have the balls to TRUTHFULLY tell me that if this farm treated cats or dogs instead of mink this way that they would evade the law. You really think you could lawfully put 12 cats in a cage that small? Yeah..right.

"calling other people f*cker"...should be plural since people refers to more than one. 3. None of it made sense anyway considering you were responding to one sentence I made telling me not to type too many sentences.

You in fact, did not say "burn off" but if you meant it then you would still need a preposition or transitional word between "off" and "trying". @jeromeqi In my opinion, if you treat animals as poorly as these men in the video, that qualifies you as a sick f*ck. It's very sadistic to mistreat and torture animals whether or not you intend to. If you are working with animals on a daily basis and can't understand or comprehend how cramming them into small cages is abuse, then that just makes you (or whoever owns them) ignorant. It's basic situational awareness to realize when something is in pain or suffering.

@jeromeqi The Chinese culture does not have rules or laws to protect animals from corporation abuse. Even if you hate mink, how can you honestly say it's acceptable to make them have miserable lives? Mink have done nothing wrong. Sure, they may cause a few issues in the wild but on a worldwide scale they have not caused near as much damage as the human population. We think because we are human we deserve to be treated with respect while we trash the world around us while animals do nothing wrong

I actually do try to save cows and chickens and pigs and generally all animals bred for slaughter (vegetarian). Also it's not right and inhumane to just kill animals like their nothing. Great job, now at least 1/2 of them will be killed by cars, a 1/4 of them by dogs, and the ones that don't get killed will kill other peoples cats, small dogs, and other pets as well as greatly damage the local ecosystem! YAY! That's so much of a better way to go rather than a fast, painless death within 30 seconds by using CO2!

You're obviously misinformed, because if you were you would've known that these mink are killed by being put in a chamber filled with CO2, where they pass out and die due to a lack of oxygen, THEN they're skinned. There are regulations, and frankly I think the standard size of the cages needs to be raised; I don't completely agree with fur farming fyi.

@xXHWSXx I think it's more about the way they have to live (small cages and so on) and not about their death. and there was always the european mink which is very similar to his american cousin, so the reports of the mink's destructive influence on the european eco-system are highly exaggerated.

I've bought a mink fur hat 1 winter ago in Montreal and I just love it. Top quality, great warmth, black tonality. I don't regret paying the extra over the beaver hat. My mink hat comes from a recognized farm. Mink is not endangered species. Minks are killed like cows, pork, chicken and fish...Have you ever eaten meat from any of these animals? have you ever had any kind of leather clothing? Why don't you go and attack those industries instead? Of course not, you have to pick on the smaller ones
