Gene Wilder is a better Willy Wonka than Johnny Depp in my opinion. I also think Jack Albertson (Grandpa Joe) played a great part. "It's got more gas in it than a politician". Great line!

Realizing what she meant, he replied that she could if she didn't say it loudly. The woman whispered to her kids, "That's Willy Wonka". The kids simply stared at him, and their mother remarked, "What a legacy!" before walking away.

@uofmrules1 I read that, too, and all I can say is YIKES! Having had similar, but milder (as it didn't require medical treatment) reaction to a hair-removal cream on my legs once, I can just about imagine what it must have been like for the actors. They had to have been in absolute agony! On a lighter note, imagine being the doctor that treated them. I mean, not many people get to say that they once treated Willy Wonka! :)

true but it turns out that foam was actually fire extinguisher foam. What the filmmakers didn't know, at the time, was that the stuff is really a skin irritant. And so most, if not all, of the castmembers suffered rashes afterwards
