It is annoying, but you have to imagine that situation. How would you calm down a woman in such a horrific situation? What would you say? I can't even imagine what I would say to someone. I would do my best not to cry and to assure her that help is on the way and to not panic. Even if I knew there was no way to save her.
The dispatcher is devastated. If you listen to the complete tape, even after Melissa's voice is redacted she continues talking to her for 20 minutes until the line goes dead. She stays on, saying encouraging things to her, fighting back tears, telling Melissa (whose final words were apparently that she wanted her mother) that she would see her mom again, and she'd be ok. Don't disparage the dispatchers. My guess is they still don't sleep through the night without hearing these voices.

Once I read about all these miraclse and even things of which I could see today, I knew with out a doubt God exists. Science can't explain these miracles and it will never be able to explain them. That means that there is a God. Besides, there is so much more evidence that doesn't involve miracles but still leads me to believe there is a God. God is no fairy tale.

The dispatcher is devastated. If you listen to the complete tape, even after Melissa's voice is redacted she continues talking to her for 20 minutes until the line goes dead. She stays on, saying encouraging things to her, fighting back tears, telling Melissa (whose final words were apparently that she wanted her mother) that she would see her mom again, and she'd be ok. Don't disparage the dispatchers. My guess is they still don't sleep through the night without hearing these voices.

@chicken8wings You can find videos of people being beheaded, shot, being dumped into mass graves etc. etc. Not to be a jerk or anything, but if you've ever watched a history program relating to the holocaust, you've already seen something 10000 times worse.
