  • i miss her...

  • Oh my god do I love opeth.

  • @huffalmighty congratulations

  • Opeth changed my life

  • @RenkTube Please share how??

  • This is a beautiful song.

  • Opeth -3 Best band of all time, recently found out my French teacher listens to them as well witch is pretty badass telling she's in her mid 60s xD This is why I love Metal it's so multidimensional though I agree the library of genres in metal has grown too large (ex. Post progressive norweigen brutal blackened folk polka) HORNS HIGH

  • @HMUnderground666 Heard from a reliable source that u flunked ur French language test after this comment..

  • i normally listen to a lot of psy, ambient, glitch etcetc and i absolutely love it. Then these guys come along and show you how true emotion cannot be replicated through computer generated sounds. makes me wonder why we classify music so much based on genres , i thought the only 2 genres were 'good music' and 'good music that doesnt appeal to oneself'

  • 0 dislikes, lovely (: OPETH<3

  • Damnation is such a great album

  • Finally, a video where everyone agrees that this is great music.

  • lets stop complaining about religion and enjoy the music eh?

  • 311 LIKES AND 0 DISLIKES <3 <3 <3

  • One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Their comprehension on music and emotion is beyond words

  • Awesome!!!!

  • In the corner beside my window There hangs a lonely photograph There is no reason I'd never notice a memory that could hold me back There is a wound that's always bleeding There is a road I'm always walking And I know you'll never return to this place Gone through days without talking There is a comfort in silence So used to losing all ambition And struggling to maintain what's left
  • @MyMytalMajesty

    That's a ridiculous claim.

I'm an Atheist and I have never treated a theist differently just because they believed in something I didn't.

I've always been kind, and I'm no less kind than a theist just because he/she has followed particular parts of the bible that I didn't.

  • @ParadoxAnonymous While I'm sure MyMytalMajesty has learned more since then, I can agree with him. I'm not saying all Atheists are like that, but you must consider, how often do you see an Atheists trying to prove his beliefs over a Christian who likes to preach and shun other non-believers? I'm not looking for argument, just a different perspective on things, or how you view them. Peace

  • @MyMytalMajesty You aren't exactly correct in your assumption either. There as many pompous Christians as there are atheists. I'd seen many Christians guilty of superiority complex and spread their mojo as truth and attack atheists too. HendrikReinder's comment(which Peeps replied to) is a good show of arrogance. Both sides have their good and bad examples. It's unfortunate you haven't met many other nice atheists, but you should try socialising more, we are abundant.

  • Wish i had the tabs for this =/

  • gone through days without talking

  • what is it with Opeth and "burning eyes"....im sure i have heard it in a coupple of songs...

  • And I know, you'll never return to this place...:/ I am sorry...

    ...

  • I ask myself, why does love have to hurt so badly? And then my answer to myself is because if it wasn't love it wouldn't... But why? I don't know?

  • Who hurt you Michael?....

  • @Dungon48 He wrote the songs on this album for his grandmother after she died. she raised him and he loved her so much. it tore him up inside (obviously) when she passed.

  • at least i think it was his grandmother....i am almost positive but dont quote me on it

  • @parrottfamily3 That's interesting. What did she do to him? Did she die and le him to make this song or was it something she did?

  • @Dungon48 as far as i know it was just her death and the impact that it had on him...nothing negative that i know of. I wish i had more information. Sorry

  • @parrottfamily3 nah that's okay dude I just apreciate the info ^^ Thanks

  • @Dungon48 No problem. Peace man!

  • My friend, best friend, he has been forced out of my life by my mother for something I did. I....this song reminds me of him, can't I just have him back and live like I used to, actually happy and not having to force a smile? Oh love, I miss you......a lot..........and Im sorry I'm such a selfish friend. Maybe one day I'll have you back, maybe....

  • This song makes my heart hurt :(

  • I heard this song three times in a row today, because I couldnt get enough of it. :D

  • @AestheticFlaws i get to listen to this song long hours :):)

  • how could a human write those words and do that to his brothers in humanity....those words are killing me :( :( :(

  • Reading all the comments on this video, its nice to see a group of people getting along, and sharing their thoughts in a positive way, as you dont see that a lot nowadays. I guess its true when they say "great art attracts great people"

  • In the begining he dedicated this to me, in the end, I dedicated this to him.

    Guess I couldn't bid him farewell ;)

  • It's a very emotional and atmospheric song...

  • this song is so sad .__.

i always send this to my friends when i want to prove that Opeth doesnt just play heavy songs, they play lots of mellow, sad songs

e__e i always find it creepy tho because in the beginning it sorta sounds like they say my name....

  • @HendrikReinder I really don't want to start an argument on this song but this must be said.

Atheists are good because of kindness, using freewill and judgement

Christians are good because they were told to or they will suffer, forced kindness and a cruel god

Which of those sounds like the real good person and happiest life you to you? Freedom or Slavery?

on a side yet more important note

FUCKING AMAZING SONG!!!! Can't wait to see them live in September. My first live Opeth show.

  • This and In my Time of Need were both songs i listened to alot when i broke up with my ex of nearly 2 years because i found out she was using me in the end. The lyrics really summed up everything i felt and thought for the last parts of it

  • once in a good place, good times... now in a burdening hole, that i cannot dig myself out of. need to get out, i need to live.. i need to be free, and not to be forgotten.

  • "there is a wound thats always bleeding

theres a road im always walking

and i know u will never return to this place"

    Best lyrics in my opinion

  • This song makes me think of my friend Paulina, she passed away in December..."And I know you'll never return to this place..." it reminds me of a passing of a dear loved one....

  • amazing! depressing tho :s

  • @xSeila Depressing? No way!

  • @2cutthroatterrorist It is, at least for me..

  • @xSeila I agree, but for some reason it makes me smile when I hear it...

Probably because it is so beautiful.

  • @ChriosM I think it is a true masterpiece but instead of smile I shed a few tears :p it gets me emotional

  • goood video man, not many people make good lyric videos

  • This song reminds me of someone special that was beside me once... and not too long ago, she decided to go away and leave me behind. There are many verses of the song that I've associated to my story, and that's why I appreciate this song so much. "And I know you'll never return to this place"

  • @JRVSephiroth been there, man, been there

  • @Ueichen We all have been in that crappy hole at least once, man. Once you're out of it, feels so nice to be healed... Metal greeting from Costa Rica

  • @JRVSephiroth i noticed your name has sephiroth in it, METAL and AWESOME and FFVII

  • @Lifewontwait29 hahaha thanks 4 that comment... In fact, I have a power metal band called Sephiroth, but our name has nothing to see with FFVII's character. To be sincere to you, none of us has played that game before, so we didn't know the existence of this character :-P ... when we realized that "Sephiroth" existed, we just decided to keep the name hahaha... metal greetings from Costa Rica! and please ignore my crappy english...

  • @JRVSephiroth

blech, i hate it when that happens. coming up with something that sounds original and awesome and realizing it's been used somewhere before. i play b ear, i write music by hearing melodies in my head so it's very easy for me to get a melody stuck in my head that i think is my own and go "this is sick, i can't believe i wrote this!" to going "dammit that's been done before!"

  • @JRVSephiroth and hey, i didnt notice i already commented saying that before ahhaha its been a long time since ive seen this video

  • @JRVSephiroth buena mae, muy cierto.

  • @JRVSephiroth That happen to me just recently man..sometimes i hate to love someone that doesnt really show love for you..

  • @JRVSephiroth she must be eating chocolate cake somewhere.. haha.. Scientists say a piece of chocolate cake after dumping someone make you forget everything..

  • @JRVSephiroth man, same here. and your username OWNS

  • @JRVSephiroth This song reminds me a similar story. It was one and a half years ago but when I'm listening to this song I feel exactly as if it was happening right now. It feels like it was miles and miles away, but I was right here, sitting on the same chair. I will never again be able to listen to this song and ''to rid the disease'' without thinking about her. The good news is today I can smile about it. When it happened I thought I was gonna die. Be strong man... Let's all be strong.

  • @JRVSephiroth same here.....

  • @JRVSephiroth Tough luck buddy..but life rolls on..

  • i love this song!

  • old good opeth...their last godly album :/
