cant stop listening to this.. love fsol my favorite artists in electronic music and could easily say that it will be very difficult to have artists better than fsol, especially these days.. I hope someday people will stop support shitty music and give more credits to "good" music but i think im asking too much.. anyway.. happy 2012
@grizzwaldo me too LOL. I spent 12 years working in the Netherlands. This was my number one stoner cd !!! I am sure i visited the smart shop at some point and and got some mushrooms and took em and tripped out to this too. You just cant fucking beat it. I played this more than Lifeforms for sure
Hey everybody - I just released my solo album "Mirror Image" that contains electronic upbeat and ambient songs heavily inspired by The Future Sound of London. If you're interested you can check out the songs on my youtube page, and links to my myspace page and places to download the full album are on my youtube channel as well :) .
why? why? why? why? I keep asking myself why today we don't have any more masterpieces like this one and we have to have fscking crappy music all around...
I have a mental orgasm everytime I hear this track, why there isn't anyone that thinks we should get rid of all the s$%t that there is around and focus on creating THIS kind of music? Please tell me that I am not just getting crazy and that I am not alone into these thoughts...
@alexdsteak You arent alone, really not my friend. There are whole lot of us around who hate crap, just see all those comments slashing and discrediting gaga, bieber & all the cunts. Sad is that in majority are people with no fucking taste or a very bad one. But I agree - we´re never gonna get over this reality.
@alexdsteak You are definitely not alone, brother, and as long as there are people like you, me and @UJ96LFA out there, this kind of music will exist. I create similar kind of sounds myself (tho i cant get even close to FSOL's genious ideas) and i do believe we CAN and WILL keep this legacy alive!
@alexdsteak Even though it's a work of genius, it just doesn't appeal to the masses. Sadly the music industry is focused more on making money rather than making good music, which means music like this will always be a little "underground", while X-Factor songs get played all over the place.
@alexdsteak you are not alone, there's many schmucks like you around, especially posting on these types of videos. there's lots of music like this about maybe if you opened your eyes and had a look around you'd find it.
@aeonremix HaHa .Been a FSOL / Diamanda Galas fan for years. The sample is either from the Albums : Saint Of The Pit or The Divine Punishment . Currently Digging the Sound of MODESELEKTOR.
@ironman9 NO! The Dead Dance was used in FSOL "Papua new guinea" the sample your referring to is from the LP "Within A Realm Of A dying Sun" & the song is "Dawn Of The Iconoclast" first track side B.
lol i'll tell u what wud b heavier, if they mixed this with kingdom come by godflesh. kingdom come isn't as good on its own as this, but it'd make it heavier.
yes like what, 99% is just soulless crap and all use the same synths, rhythms, just different melodies. Gave up on that a long time ago, not really gonna browse through 100000 tracks to find one good.
Translation : "because most music is generic crap (true) I'm giving up on music."
How sad for you. =[
Shit, how sad for all of us, eh?
If you ever decide to look around again, I assure you, there is gold, no matter what your taste may be. Find a DJ or podcast that plays stuff you like and mine their playlists. Take a band you like and feed it into Pandora or LastFM and see what they recommend, go from there. Many techniques available to help dig.
if i wanna hear something i just make it myself nowadays. Music like this became a joke with the one billion programs for a buck and a half you can get.
And because i know how easy it is to make music like this i actually stopped listening or following it up, it became a braindead massproduct.
Im more into anything now, if its good its good, pretty strange the techno scene doesnt offer me alot of good anymore.
Oh, well, yes, I agree. I 've been making electronic music since the mid 90's, sort of a hard IDM thing, under the name Endif, so I completely get what you're saying about making most of the more easily digested varieties of electronic. They're so formulaic that it's literally easy to pump out. I wish I didn't mind just making product for cash's sake, as you can still make some bucks if you're willing to schmooze in those genres. But here we are. =P
A fucking men to that some of my pals who where into the scene long ago when it started out now they just like rock and follow what comes out me I will die to the sounds of all the greats like afx fsol ae amon plaid etc etc & there is so much free music out there & some of these musicians who are loading there music up on sites like archive & showing how its being done yeah got to search for that shit if the loves gone 4 techno & electronica then I guess the love as gone . .unlucky
@MrROLY1973 Yeah i am 44 and well still like ...music nobody else knows ha ha. ISDN has been a top weed smokin' cd for years. And i lived in Holland 12 years so it was everyday sometimes ha ha. I was just looking thru my vinyl today. Got a few Aphex, Auetechre, Squarepusher albums. Man one of those afx albums was 75 quid on some internet site. Not that i am selling. I remember seeing afx at some festival in London mid 90's where he had three guys in teddy bear suits dancin' on stage !!
@monkeygonetoheavensi Saw the same era Aphex I thinks. Him laying on stage with a laptop (well before most people gigged with computers) while guys in teddy bear suits with Aphex faces roamed the crowd. Blew me away at the time, one guy with a laptop making such a huge, huge noise.
@OverNineThousandLol well thats why they called hemselfs "future sound of london":) i still cant believe this its 2011 i listening this so many years and still love it like new track :)
I've got it, even if it's in very low quality. I will upload it when I'll be able to record the audio from the CD so at least the audio quality would be very good (even if youtube sadly brings the quality down a lot)!
My favourite song at all, since I bought ISDN in 2003. The entire first year after i got This Great Album I couldn't listen to anything else. In particular, I was able to listen to this song even twenty times a day.
Wicked, wicked track. Been listening to it since 1996 and it still sounds fabulous.
