aragh ... Kevin ... this is NOT Mississauga land ! They are only the most recent Native inhabitants to have lived in the area.

The Iroquois, on the other hand, have a VERY long history in this area. 100 years before the MIssissauga arrived - in 1687, French Governor DeNonville burnt out and slaughtered the two Seneca / Mohawk villages of Taiaiagon (Humber River) and Ganatsekweygon (Rouge RIver).

We have burial mounds dating back approx 6000 years.
