  • no shoulding allowed lol

  • Pictures of the Bushes somehow take away from the mystique of the song, as would one of Monika Lewinsky. ;-)

But I'd love to see you extend the video to include "World Goes to Riyadh" and part 2.

How long did this take you?

  • @tttar a couple of weeks.

Not to mention Hitler, right? :)

  • It's nuts the response this got. I just wanted to create something with the program. :) Philosophically, it's astounding what an artistic representation brings out in some people! My personal feeling is that if you feel that you can tell someone what music "should" be to them or what art "should" be to them then you are probably missing the point entirely. But then, that's one way of looking at it.

  • Al is a great story teller. He is a muscian cum historian.

  • Oh ... except it's only half the song .... as you were.

  • Finally!! Been trying to find this version since I lost my Indian Summer Album (vinyl), thanks for posting. Great song.

  • Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose

  • Great song from amazing Al Stewart about Nostrodomous, a prophetic man who could see down through the ages and predicted some amazing things...makes you wonder what he would say about today? The guitar on this song is inspiring and lifting.Where did Al Stewart go?..I miss his music.

  • Too bad the whole song wasnn't done. There is more to this song.

..and the world goes to Riyadh Riyadh

This song became incredibly relevant after 9/11 when the US first sent troops to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

  • The video is in error on an important point.

The prediction of which Stewart sings in relation to the King who seeks a divorce refers to Edward VIII, not Henry VIII.

I am disappointed that so obvious a mistake could have been made. :-)

  • No that was a picture of old Eddie after 20 years of avoiding the missus by going for several down the Frog and Rosbif in Paris

  • After 26 years (when I heard this song as a cover of Manfred Mann's Earthband) I finally got the chance to hear the song by its original composer.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I've been a HUGE Al Stewart fan since a teen. You did an awesome job with this tune and video. Very well done and a huge Thank You!!! Blessings, Nick

  • great song

    great video

  • Great post in many ways my friend ....

Al stewart has always rocked my world !

    Thank you ! chris

  • Great Song.. you gotta love Al Stewart!

  • I do put my personal views into things that I do in my own free time for amusement. If I have to do something to present for the benefit of a specific group (and something that I get money or credit for) then I would be more careful not to include personal views. Love it when I can though... very awesome that we have creative expression in this country!

  • so much more to this song the petty pictures of g.bush ans obama. they ruined it for me there. so far the rest is good, remove personal opinion and feligion from the vid it be so much better. you can't show 1,2,3 without making it equal to all followers. beautiful song though been listening to it for almost 20 years now

  • if you need pictures of a specific nature to enjoy a great song you have no clie what music is

  • Well yeah. I mean, I think that prophesy in and of itself has a spiritual connotation (then, so does music if you ask me ;) ). I don't think I really included religion... just spiritual concepts and overtones. Of course, I wasn't really making it 'for' anyone... it was just born :D

  • what is the first painting shown in the video?

  • love the song and the video is great!

  • Nice video. Unfortunately, it incorrectly shows Henry the VIII as the "English King [who}seeks divorce". The correct reference is to Edward VIII, who was "cast down" from his throne when he sought to marry divorcee' Wallis Simpson and was forced to abdicate.

  • Wallis Simpson was dating my grandfather when she became involved with Edward VIII

  • Granddad had a lucky escape then.

  • Hm. Probably would have been a bit better if you'd faded out on the ending, since you don't have the whole song... I love this song. I really need to get that record digitized. Of course, then it loses the awesomeness of being on a record. :(

  • Yeah... this was my first attempt with this program (more or less). I got a little 'burned out' by the end (this took around 2 weeks to create) and I quit. Maybe someday I'll have more time in my life to play with these things (I need to go back and fix the end). It was a lot of fun. Yeah... vinyl is pretty cool but digital would preserve it for ya.

  • A lovely amv. Decent stuff right here! =D

Pity you don't have the rest of the song, but ah well. Still very good.

  • nice try wheres the rest of the song ???

  • Seen 'the point' lately?

    (sometimes it gets lost)

  • I read a Nostradamus prophet that says that in the Olympic, they think this year the dead rise from the grave by a mysterious and old cult but they don't know if its literately or metaphorically

  • Century 2:Quatrain 51;"The blood of the just shall be dry in London;Burnt by the fire of three times twenty and six;The ancient dame shall fall from her high place;...."Thus Nostradamus foretold the 1666 Fire of London.

  • "Man man your time is sand your days are leaves upon the sea, I'm the eye of Nostradamus all your ways are known to me"

  • Have you considered making a vid for "Roads To Moscow"?

  • Hi. I'd like to make more videos. I just don't have much time :)

  • dont bother.. this one has absolutely nothing to do with nostradamus except a few paintings

  • Ever notice how you sometimes catch yourself taking to heart what some nameless person on the internet has to say only to find that he's made many good movies himself about lighting farts? Now... who's to miss the point in THAT subject matter? :D ;)

  • Hey immelody333, what a great job! Your artistic sensibility is true! If I had counted with this kind of computing tools back there at the beginning of the 80s, my senior-high students would have learned English far more easier when I tried to teach them to read in English with fantastic songs like this. They were greatly impressed by Al Stewart´s Nostradamus and in fact learned a lot! It was unforgettable!

Would you please be my teacher?

    Warm greetings from Mexico City!

  • This is great, Thanks for posting it. I looked & I believe this is the only one.

  • Excellent overall. The only problem with the video is that the English King is not Henry VIII but Edward VIII who abdicated to marry his American love becoming the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. His brother George VI became king and is father to Queen Elizabeth II.

  • Oooops! Thanks for pointing that out. Good catch :) Maybe I'll get around to changing it someday.

  • SkylarkThibedeau is mistaken. The English king at 3:33 and 3:55 IS Henry VIII. No need to change the excellent video. :)

  • Haha... thanks. I was going to check into that. :)

  • brilliant pics to go with a great song

    great job immelody

    stewart at his best

  • Thanks.

    Yeah, he's awesome :)

  • just shared it with my son who's far to young to have heard al stewart but his dad and me both were into him and my son has a good ear for whats good stuff and whats rubbish he'll love it too and the film which i already commented on good job.

  • Al Stewart wrote beautiful intelligent songs and this is a good film to accompany this particular song thanx for making film & posting the song!

  • man, man, your time is sand.love this song, made me get out the album just to relive

  • a good clip for an excellent song of an honourable songwriter !!!(not bad ,immelody)

    thanks for your work

  • Thanks much! I had started out just wanting to play with this photostory program with some art work I had on the computer (not mine... just stuff I had collected that I liked) but while I was doing it, I had music playing in the back-ground and when this song came on and I was looking at some of this art, very soon the song became the inspiration to work around and the art-work was the tool that I used to express my interpretation of it.

  • those who are anti christ people would really appreciate this bitch!

  • This isn't anti-Christ but I'm not going to get into that here... if you want to talk philosophy or theology, message me. :)

Thanks for the watch and the comment.

  • brilliant song and video

  • what song! Love every second!

  • Truly a first-rate video! You should know that "Nostradamus" is among my favorite Al songs. And that guitar solo is my favorite guitar piece EVER. You may be interested to know that Al is "agnostic" on the topic of Nostradamus. If you are a history buff, you should not live one more day without owning "Between the Wars". And "Somewhere in England 1915" on Al's 2005 "Beach Full of Shells" release is a masterpiece which you would appreciate. The strings are amazing. Your video made my day!Bob

  • Thanks much for the reply and suggestions! I had no idea what Al's spiritual outlook on the phenomena was. I just included the 'spiritual' symbols that I did (shamanic animals mostly representing the link between this world and the next) as part of my own interpretation of prophesy. Anyway, thanks again :)

  • great comment

  • Also, History buffs, don't forget the album which featured this song, "Past, Present, and Future." Who else but Al could pull off a song about Warren Harding, America's second worst president? Plus the heartbreaking "Roads to Moscow"...

  • Thanks for checking it out. It is a cool song and the video was fun to make.

  • thank you. i love it

  • thak you. i havent heard that song in a while. love the vid.

  • Nice job. I always liked this track and the video fits it well.
