  • Hey man, nice video. Question:

I know they say that the glasses look like you're watching a 62-inch screen from 9 feet away but if that is the case then why are they even worth buying? I have a 50" tv so how are these different?

My real question is... do these glasses really give you the effect of being "immersed" in the game you're playing or does it just feel like you're looking at a screen in the distance? Do you think these glasses immerse the player enough to be used in a VR application?

  • Can you adjust the sensitivity so you don't have to twist your neck around like that? Maybe increase the ingame sensitivity?

  • now they need to make head aiming vr glasses with 3d

  • @rapelpecho im not sure about these glasses but the Wrap 920 also from vuzix support 3D and head tracking:)

  • @GamerSwag There is no "other 9 feet", the world is in the entire view area. The screen width is as if viewing ~60in screen from 9ft, but it looks like walls, enemies, etc are right next to you, or farther away, Projectiles fly right at you, just like 3D cinema, but even better.

  • whats in the other 9 feet you are viewing from and how do you move and shoot, with a controller?

  • Would it be possible with an wireless adapter?

So that you can move around a lot easier,

  • They need to have the display wrap around your eyes. Having Eyefinity in a headset form would be perfect.

  • great video dude, i've been wanting to these in action for ages, still debating whether to get them or maybe wait for the VR1200, does the head tracking really work, do u have full movement in the games and does it lag?!!

  • they need to find a way to make arm and leg scensors

  • Hey how do I play crysis 2 in 3D I have the HDTV cords and glasses says I need 1080p the 720 setting is on but the 1080 won't..... And how do I set my turtle beach headphones up I ran out of inputs!

  • does it look like u walk inside the game are does it look like ur looking at a tv screen

  • @vality1 Equivalent to a 62” screen viewed at 9 feet.

  • that mean it isn't really virtual reality

  • can you play cod black ops in 3d on the xbox?

and if not is there a pair of glasses that do and in HD please answer my q :)

  • @dutchcrimesNL Negative... Head-tracking only on PC. (Not Xbox 360)

  • Hes holding a controller. The glasses are nothing more than a display. A tiny tv in the glasses. Nothing more.

  • @workshop4life1 I think you might have missed the point.

  • Now, imagine this on a wii(similar) remote. You will be shooting for real lol

  • not as cool as the guy who built a virtual reality screen into a fake gun fir fear.

  • very cool, cant find vr920 model, just the 920... does that HMD automatically come set up to play games like this? where does the motion software come from? Thanks, someone please respond... Thanks again... any other recommendations would be great...

  • is it full 3d landscape Like if you walk into the game :O?

and also is it possible for as i wear glasses to use it and see the 3d in it when i play?

  • why are u guys sayin vusix its vuzix,

  • Prettty please, also does this mean you are playing/seeing it in 3d.

  • @AshRNand

Yeah you can play it in 3D with these glasses

  • Man this freaking awesome, please blog or upload a video on how to do this and hardware requirements. The comments are not detailed enough

  • I like how this is one of the only HMDs I could find that has vga outputs and usb power. If you put your laptop in a well ventilated backpack, you will be fully wireless. Disassemble a few laser mice or trackballs so you can mount them on footwear, use a program to map mouse movement to arrow keys, have a restraining hoop that is strong enough for you to run against and you have a very immersive virtual environment.

  • @chanceturcotte Problem is, you would have to use a custom game engine, as you would need to be able to control two separate HID devices (1 for your 2 feet-mice movement and 1 for your headwear).

Furthermore, a 3rd HID device could be programmed to follow the movement of a prop gun (A wiimote is an innexpensive gyroscopic device to use for this and has pc drivers available). Then your gun would move independently of your vision! Cool stuff.

  • @chanceturcotte Another reason it would have to be a custom game engine, is because to simply use a mouse2keys mapping device for foot movement would only allow 8 directions of movement... but you know, it would still be cool since you would then be able to play commercial games.

  • would be cool with playstation move so you can aim with your hand or a psp so you can play anywhere

  • why does aiming with your head sound terrible? seems like it would be better viewing around...

  • Quick question: when setting the device up, at any point do you have to lower the resolution of your primary monitor (aka, the tv in your case) to a lower resolution to match the AR920? I just hate to drop everything down and have it mess up my desktop icons, but if I have to, oh well...

  • how is the reselution?

  • is it a gud experience ? is the rendering blurr bad? can u surf interent too with it

seems to be the best one out there for its price, new ones are 2k

    thanks:)

  • glasses running at 1024x768?

I've been looking around for some hmd glasses. Any others that you would recommend?

  • Yeah ! I love my VR920, I just wish it would be a little more highresolution to it, but it's not that bad for the price of having 3 DOF. I'm not being able to find games that support headtracking, not new ones, anyway, maybe I'm doing something wrong. How many titles are there for FPS which support headmotion, if you know, would you mind giving me a heads up on it ? Thanks, dude !

  • I can already see the headlines; Man brakes neck playing Call Of Duty online.

  • so do you aim with your head then?

  • @GamerGuyM I'm aiming with my head.

  • @MasterGSX lol

  • @MasterGSX does it look like u walk inside the game are does it look like ur looking at a tv screen

  • @MasterGSX

Hi, can you combine these glasses with some other articles like gloves or some kind of a gun, so you can walk freely without using the controller?

  • @MasterGSX

Or with some virtual reality shoes or walking paths so you can really walk and shoot? Do you have any idea? Thanks in advance.

  • What OS did you use with the glasses ? Does it work with windows 7? I bought a pair of these, and I kinda forgot to check up on OS compability, if it works with the new ps3 that has 3D support, now that would really impress the heck out of me, since I own the mentioned .

  • can i play pc games with this glasses ?? for example can i play counter strike source, fifa 2010 etc. ????

  • @Roberto678998 The Vuzix Virtual Reality Compatible Titles List does include Counter-Strike: Source, but I haven't tried it myself.

  • Can I play pc games with this glasses ?? for example can I play counter strike source , fifa 2010 ???

  • is it wireless?

  • @thenesmaster Yes & No. I use the Wireless Xbox 360 Receiver/Controller, but the HMD is connected and configured with my Alienware Aurora m9700 (laptop) via it's 6-foot slim single-cable with USB and VGA connectors.

  • Support for up to 1024x768 VGA video formats

  • @MasterGSX SVGA – The eMagin Z800 3DVisor is 800 x 600 triad pixels per display (1.44 megapixels)

  • @WJamesLoganHowlett !?! W-T-F $1799.00 W-T-F !?! The Z800 was only $800.00 back in 2006. What's with the price gouging eMagin?

  • Twin high-resolution 640x480 (920,000 pixels) LCD displays 24-bit true color (16 million colors)

  • what resoltion? i thought most affordable ones were really low res so seeing a 640x480 wouldnt be to good right on my eyeballs... i notice your screen is a high res. but is it the same in the HMD?

  • @d3tach3d No... It's Not The Same On The HMD. 1024x768 scaled down to 640x480.

  • How is the resolution? Can you see your targets far away? I was thinking of buying a set of these for ARMA 2... but ARMA 2 requires you to be able to see so far away that I don't know if the resolution is good enough.

  • @DrJoshD TrackIR is what your looking for.

  • @MasterGSX I've seen TrackIR but that isn't realistic enough. I want a HMD that has high resolution and provides tracking. I guess technically I could just buy a cheaper high resolution HMD that doesn't have tracking and also purchase a TrackIR and use the 2 together.

  • @DrJoshD That's a great idea! I thought about doing just that with my VR920 so I could get better response and compatibility. The TrackIR should be able to work with any HMD, but it's all up to how you configure your game controls to your TrackIR. It's cheaper than buying the "COVETED" Z800. Question : What's the best HMD available for high resolution without head tracking?

  • @MasterGSX For the cost... I'd have to say the i-Cine Hi-Res HMD is the cheapest 800x600 I've seen. They are on Amazon for $499.99. Any resolution higher than that seems to bump up the price to industry prices. One problem I started thinking about though... You can't turn your head all the way around with the TrackIR can you?

  • @DrJoshD The people who use the TrackIR the way it was intended to be used describe it as a , "VR fishtank", because looking at your monitor is like looking through a window into a 3D world. Together with the HMD you will be limited to looking in the direction of the montior. (6 Degrees of Freedom) I think your setup idea would bad to the bone for racing or flight simulators! 800x600!

  • @DaddoRon I hope we can find you a solution Ron!

  • I was contacted by our tech support people in the UK after they were contacted by a person who had viewed your video and perceived that you were playing Quake4 on an Xbox, using our VR920. Obviously there was some confusion.

    Ron Haidenger

    Product Manager, Consumer Division

    Vuzix Corporation

  • @WJamesLoganHowlett " If someone has found a solution for enabling tracker usage on the Xbox please contact Ron.

  • @MasterGSX Contact him @DaddoRon

  • how do you connect to it cause im going to get one but just asking how to connect it to game console

  • @gunmanguy The video I posted shows use of the VR920 HMD for head tracking in Quake 4 on PC. The HMD is connected and configured with my Alienware Aurora m9700 (laptop, NOT Xbox 360) Please read the full description.

  • This looks insane. But i would have to imagine, can you play that for hours on end without getting a sore neck though? I def want to get one of those hehe :)

  • @TheGeorgevt It's Insane in the Brain! This VR experience works great for me as shown on YouTube! No neck pain from this setup... doesn't make me sick... I can play as long as I want no problem!

  • Cool, good setup :)

I posted a vid too, morrowind virtual reality, I used wiimote + vr920 + backback for free roaming.

  • I'm aiming with my head!!! So Long, Mouse AND Keyboard!

  • I FOUND CHARLIE!!!

The HD 5970 Black Edition limited is the most insane graphics card on the planet. Part 3 of the "XFX Gamertainment Campaign" will be dropping...? XFX is innovative.

  • "A lucky someone will be finding out they won the 5970 in about a week (hopefully), the end is near, who's it gonna be?! Hmmmm(^o^) "

  • Awesome!!!

  • Where is Charlie?
