The game was made to let people design their own platformers like mario. Once you get used to the create tools you can do much more using logic, like making complex monters/contraptions or even a basic calculator. I bought a ps3 for this game and don't regret it. However, Littlebigplanet 2 is coming out soon, and that game lets you design you own games, not just platformers. In my opinion getting a ps3 for LBP2 is worth it, but it is worth playing LBP at a friend's house first
