  • If you have a lot of time on your hands this makes sense.....

  • Great! I plan to extend my DECT phone battery life. It has 300mAh 2/3 AAA pack inside. I am going to remove it and glue a 2300mAh pack on the back of the phone, because it is 3xAA batteries and won't fit the compartment. I guess it will now for much more than a week....

  • its always "lithium ion batteries

  • @Makalon102 thats because lithium is the most abundant alkali metal and gives up a convenient, 1 electron when it becomes and ion

  • Kool I can back my ds thanks to danboe

  • that's how you repack a laptop batter

  • cool

  • I NEED HELP I have a dell latitude c600 with dead battery and, well, Im a terrible solderer... Im fixing the computer completely and I need this to hold a charge so what can I do or can I not avoid soldering?

  • Yes new laptops do use battery like these. Just did this to mine,

Very happy with this $15. US on eBay for new cell's. 07 intel

  • Not realey hack just fucking pro

  • not really a hack more just like changing the batteries

  • correction $ 67

  • Hey hack a pimple

  • Have you seen that discusting pimple video?

  • @shockwave698 You misspelled disgusting.

  • do newer laptops still contain batteries like this one?

  • why does everyone say 'hack' i didnt see you go on your computer and hack into the battery i saw you change your batteries

  • @adstalynx look up the definition to the word "hack".

  • @CadetLease just have, im still correct though because he has not hacked the batteries he has just changed them

  • @adstalynx your wrong. look at a little around 27seconds. he said he did a little research. which meens he learned something and gained a little knowledge from it

  • oh im blind.. xD

  • Hacking? More like "How to Replace Batteries in the Laptop Battery Pack"! Anyway, good job.

  • soddering??? you mean Soldering?

  • Is that a propane soldering iron? Or is it just REALLY hot :)

  • its work for u cuz u use battery of pc was used in king Constantine period 4 cntry DC, man those type of bttry u shud take to musuem

  • @GroblichMagflurg And the British people ride on the left side of the road ;)

  • I love this video. Does it apply to all laptops and can use any batteries? thanks

  • how did you check online for a battery if your battery for your laptop

    was out?

  • @TimePrimeHumor he said that he was going to use the laptop as a second computer

  • You have just demonstrated the real power of the internet. Thank you. Thumbs up!

  • /watch?v=XTfMmOTDarA&feature=related this guy stole this vid without giving kipkay credit!

  • explode, explode, explode

  • Request: Hey KipKay, im asking you, cause you'd do it right, and to the point. How about a 'hack' on how to extract the precious metals from computers, monitors, and keyboards? Ive searched for over an hour for a 'how to' on youtube, and nothing really indepth or precise enough (chemical compositions...etc). And most of the vids have misleading titles. Anyways, hope you can do it. It helps the environment, and if you have a comp graveyard like me, might add up to a few bucks.

  • i just opened my toshiba a300-23j laptop battery exact same thing, 6 cell batteries, (maybe not the same with this guy) the laptop is two years old, thats how it goes with laptop batteries, just do it when you're ready to throw the battery away as to not harm a possibly still good battery

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • this was in what year again ?

  • hmm maybe if i could

    (user dissconnected due to laptop)

  • I have an old IBM that refuses to hold a charge for 5 minutes but the battery seems too heavy to try this. And it looks like a ton of work....

  • is some there some risk if i open a satellite toshiba batery? can it explode or spill?

  • Thank for your sharing

  • When I tried doing this all I saw was a dead hamster on a wheel. Is this normal?

  • How is this a hack?

  • Teach us how to make a fake gun shot that will me fake blood hit the other person making it look real. Just for pranking purposes

  • Comment removed

  • Why do you Americans have to change words . The rest of the world uses solder not soder . Same with Aluminiun , you knobs call it aloominum FFS

  • your very smart and have a lot of patience

  • wats the point he has the charger cud he not charge it

  • @ashirfarooq the battery wouldnt hold a charge. after awhile laptop batteries tend to die. where u can charge them to 100% but they go dead in 15-20 mins.

  • pinter kon

    entok ide tekan edi kon?

  • Wow. Funny how the hacked battery looks better than the factory-made assembly.

  • in other words:

*kipkay* ima fuckin' genius, and your not! so you will blow yourself up!!! lol. JK

  • yo my gateway got the same fucking problem damn i want to hack the battery but fuckit im just a teen -_- thanks anyway

  • @TheWhiteUchiwa

What does being a teen have to do with it, lad? Get to it and hack the damned thing, or at least learn (die) trying :). Good luck!

  • it blew up

  • @mike125306 he said it could explode

  • how come you always get stuff sent to ur house instead of just buying it at a shop?

  • @nachos908283 Because how many stores can you walk into and get batteries like this? How many stores can you walk into and get laser diodes? Stores aren't always an option

  • @Glockenator o i hate waiting for the mail xD

  • You always get your hacks right

  • Can you make another vid? cause my battery is different

  • @TheLEDplayer your may not be hackable :\

  • Because....these...CAN explode!

  • My laptop always dies before the battery so I never have to worry about this. The longest I've had a laptop last before something needed to be replaced was 4 months

  • @Glockenator Why not buy a good laptop?

  • @Fooblepie125 They were all mid range laptops. The first one was a Toshiba L300 that went through 7 hard drives in 18 months, the second was a Compaq, and the current one is a HP 2000 that I bought in July and had to get repaired in October. About half the time I've had the computers, they've been in the shop getting fixed

  • Save money.

    But it could explode.

  • Genious.

  • Notice your using a battery from a laptop that almost belongs in a museum. This will not work on laptop batterys younger than 5 years old and some even older as they have an EPROM chip that will only let it charge to it's last charge capacity. You can hack the EPROM if you have a PIC programmer, the right software for the batt your fixing and steady hand to cut open the sealed battery without cutting through the PCB, I should just buy a new one! This guy makes lot's of irrelevant videos.

  • @sparkyuiop ikr i tried the 9 volt battery hack and all i got was some rust that flew in my mouth upon opening it and block plastic

  • @youngrelleus19 Well that's another good point. Battery's can short out and burn you if your not carefull or the acid can leak out on your skin. Not pleasant! I hope you washed your mouth out straight away. If you take out your battery and put it's model number into the eBay search box there are some very good and very cheap after market compatible batterys avaliable. I have used several for Dell's and HP's with no issues.

  • @sparkyuiop This video was made nearly 4 years ago

  • @sparkyuiop Notice how old the video is

  • You have to know that it will not work untill you enter the small chip on the small board and make some adjustment , becuase most of the battry stop working because of the counter on the Chip already reach 300 . if you change the counter to 200 for example it will work again for 100 times charge and un charge (my tell number 008613424123404 )

  • :solong:

  • What the hell why 18 hrs

  • @MrReview11 cuz even though the batteries are new, the cells inside need charging and then they can run to full potential.

  • @kipkay now can you do this with mac book pro's :$

  • you are, FUCKIN SMART!

  • what kind of laptop needs 18 hours

  • @58book look at the type of laptop...this is from a very long time ago...besides its Gateway

  • @58book first charge always takes longer. most portable devices recommend a longer than normal charging period.

  • 18 hour charge?

  • I kind of wanted to see the batteries explode...

  • cool kipkay

  • i wanny kniw yer real name ...whenever i say kipkay it sound like katnip

  • @AmazinTurttle17 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

  • U rock Kipkay!

  • My dad sayed that you might of facked doing the aa battery hack

  • do it with a macbook bat:D

  • this guy's a wizard.

  • lol. the buyers love u. the sellers hate u

  • but would this work for some more "modern" batteries?

  • @alucard1589 moderen? they havent changed that much, just make sure you get the right chemistry and capacity cells

  • so if I find dvi cassetes for my video camera that are 80 $ how to hack them because cheaper casseter are bad for it ??

  • Why does he speak so fast???

  • Fucking wrong information, you didn't mention the wear leveling & battery condition chip..

  • is it ok if i use a 2200mAh battery to replace a 2250mAh one?

  • @nobobs Yes you can.You need to have the right voltage but the mAh is how much the charge batterys hold in them.More mAh means more battery time. You can even use like 5000mAh batterys i does not matter you only need to make sure you have the right voltage.

  • I need this a while ago, oh well

  • How the hell did you get on the internet, when your laptop was dead?

  • @GameComplain he used a different computer dummy.

  • @GameComplain he said that he was going to use it as a second laptop dumbass

  • @selenaroks Sorry i didnt try to see thru every second of the video "dumbass"

  • @GameComplain actualy he even made it clear so it would be very hard to miss idiot

  • where's your cat ?

  • not gonna work with my mbp. it's one large cell

  • Uf I´m going to do that I´m tired to need to have the cable always connected to the laptop

  • dangerous!

  • i tried this and it works fine =) thanks kipkay!

  • Cool laptop!!! (:

  • 1:27 well done video! i've bought too, but it's more difficult to join batteries, because when you solder and 1mm is out the batteries don't close!

  • OMFG HACKING NOOB

  • @xdeloach XD

  • Hey man I did something similar... but had a small problem, the battery gained "memory"... it Wont charge past 59%... and when using it, it stays at 0% at least 30 minutes! loool it worked but the battery is not in sync with its %.. any recomendations? :) nice vid BTW

  • try to hack your wife next time :D that'd be somethign cool too!

  • The last part he said..

In other words, you might want to risk your life

  • :0 your amazing

  • how does that work with my dell inspiron 1720 series

  • @wminke27 because the battery is dead and it won't work because it is worn ouy

  • @echervey On many laptops the battery is just there to provide power when you're on the move. You can just plug in the power cord without a battery and the laptop will work fine.

Also even by the standards of 2008, that laptop is fucking old.

  • @SuperTruth77 are you serious? what the hell. did you go on unprotected wifi networks?

  • why can't you just plug it in?

  • how about 3 cell

  • LAPTOP OWNERS BEWARE! I recently took my laptop on a trip to SE Asia- virtually all their big cities are wifi zones. However, one day in a café I noticed it was running a little slow.

Suddenly the Police descended on me (tipped off, obviously) & demonstrated a load of disgusting child porn (NOT MINE) on my hard drive. I was paraded on national TV as a ‘filthy foreign pervert’. Eventually my embassy got me out the country, but my life & reputation were PERMANENTLY RUINED.

  • @SuperTruth77

    lol

  • Cool

  • Every time I watch one of your videos, I'm more amazed!

  • i dont understand why some peaple dont like some good videos

  • @isaacfromorocco They tried, they failed, they dislike. they suck.

  • macgyver.

  • $37 plus (value of your knowledge and labor) minus (the thrill and enjoyment of fixing it) = $?

Still probably fixing it yourself is the best deal.

  • why not use the 6 volt battery hack?

  • @SuperBrownie66 Wouldn't work you need a certain battary so the computer will run

  • @g4vinj44p Do you idiots really just watch half the video before commenting?

  • @gorillazhead i did watch the video the "6 volt battery hack" shows you how to get F cell batterys kipkay said in the video they were lithium ion battery.

  • thats cool

  • Comment removed

  • smart ass

  • sawder this sawder that.

  • enyone know where he got the batteryes from and how to find out the mAh and volt on each batery

  • @w1a9s9i7m no clue on where abouts of batteries, but most electrican volt meters will give you the answer you need for the amps and volts on it.

  • @da4thjuggalo ok,thanks!

  • Hey thanks this helped

  • ha!! take that gateway-overpriced-new-battery!!!! :P

  • I would have to go through so many batteries that it wouldnt be worth it lawlz

  • Dos it work for like a new laptop

  • I recently got a dell laptop and the battery in it has got to be replaced.

  • I did not understand - did it explode or not?

  • @daxureisidiot If u are dumb YES

  • damn your smart

  • hey kipkay!

were did you get the batteries from?

  • if u had a charger y did u by new batterys

  • @scottyarrow1 because they were fucked? Didn't hold a charge? Makes the laptop pretty useless for portability if he doesn't always want to plug it in to the wall? Use your brain!

  • Dangerous stuff playing with batteries and heat

  • how is that a hack its called changing batteries go to atlava he shows u real hacks im a pirate i hack pirates i loot 1000000000000 gold

  • @rddtdx444444ex you're also a moron

  • where did you get your batteryes from??

  • In China, these cells are much cheaper.............

  • @m27a68v71 they're also a lot crappier and lie about mAh

  • @famiclone364

Yes,i see,but almost all the Lithium cells are made in China......................

The notebook may be made in China too............

  • @m27a68v71 there's a HUGE difference between made in China and SOLD from China. On some electrical forums, they warn about using blue li-ions from China. He used those exact ones.

  • @famiclone364

Why?but as far as i know, some of them are good cell.........

  • @m27a68v71 I think it's jsut problems with a few ebay selllers from China. Electronics engineers have tested them and even though some say "2000mAh" they are really only a few hundred.

  • @famiclone364

They love to tell lies to foreiger............

Local people buy them, they dare not to do so............

They love to classify the cell ike A product,B product,C product

A is the best,C is the worst and so on.

If you can find some "A product",they are good cells.

If you buy those C product from some sellers from China unlucky,I just can say nothing.......

Buy things from China, you have to check them by yourself and you have to have that knowledge of that product.......

  • @famiclone364

This is why buying things from China is quite troublesome..............

    P.S I am sorry for my bad English..........I am just a person in Hong Kong(ex-British colony,before 1997)

  • @famiclone364

Many sellers on ebay send lithium cells by AIRMAIL,which is really dangerous..........

  • ey kipkay ^^

i want to use this hack to a averatac laptop but i can't find the cells as cheap as yours. where did you take the new cells from?

    i hope you answer =)

  • that is why you buy a charger with your computer kids!
