Denver Zoo Welcomes the Birth of Giraffe, Cricket

I've seen a couple other videos of zoo giraffes giving birth, out in their yard with crowds watching. How nice that this momma has been able to have a quiet, non-public place to have her baby. Go Denver zoo! =D

Awww how sweet she is. The miracle of life is such a beautiful thing.

Zookeepers name newborn animals after many things ranging from their favorite places, people or characters. In this case, a zookeeper continued a Disney theme. A previous giraffe was named Pongo, after a dog in 101 Dalmatians. Cricket was named after Jiminy Cricket, the talking cricket from Pinocchio.
