  • Mahalo e ke kumu, maika'i keia. To those looking for the lesson book, you can get it at UH Hilo in the Hawaiian Studies/Language office above the Ag Department which is behind the building where you pay for your parking pass-decal. Anyway, that's where they were located a few years ago.

  • @lexymichel, there is a book on amazon called learn hawaiian at home, which i am planning on buying and hopfully it'll help

    When is google translation going to have Hawaiian? Is UH not interested? Are the Hawaiians not interested? Can someone explain?

  • Aloha!! right on dis is solid cause being one hawaiian and not knowing how to speak hawaiian, gurl... shame. My tutu was one of mauis hawaiian activists and she help stop the bombing on kohoolawe. All da cousins speak hawaiian, I mean I no some words and phrases but thats not enough. I cannot find that book "Na kai E'walu" do you no other ways to get it? My baby cousin going to uh hilo right now, I dunno maybe she can get one for me. but cha let me no, mahalos.

    Aloha!

    I am able to type the 'okina on my computer when tyoping Hawa'ian words, but have no way of producing the kahako over the vowels. Please can you you give me some idea as to how to go about it?

    I have tried typing ^ beside whichever vowel, but it did not work as I was aware that the kahako should be above the vowel, not beside or below it.
