  • How could things get so f***** up that automakers needed to be bailed out by the government? This is just pathetic.

COULD IT BE, that this thing called capitalism cannot hold it's water? Time to consider something else...

  • i cant stand commie ron middlefinger.

  • Gettlefinger is a total ass. It the UAW people want to keep their jobs, they better start conceding.

  • looking for friends

    funny video lets chat 8k

  • i will personally spit in Gettelfinger's face

  • Efficient production and good senior management strategies are crucial in this very important competitive global auto market. Lack of flexibility and high costs from the UAW + absolutely moronic egotistical senior management = recipe for certain bankruptcy. Lack of vision and a short term view from both the UAW and senior management got them in this mess. However, I put more blame on the UAW.

  • The thing that was so telling to me during the hearings is something this guy said. He was asked if the transplants, Honda, Toyota, etc. were to come in and buy out GM/Chrysler, would they be able to absorb a lot of the jobs lost. He said, (paraphrasing) that the Big Three use 78 employees to make 2500 cars and the transplants use 33 to produce the same number. More effecient, too. That right there is the huge problem with the UAW and, quite frankly a lot of Unions.

    DO THE MATH!

  • Simbammg1, glad to see an intelligent post since Wall St tanked the economy. Rich Republican campaign contributors got away with stealing the American Dream. The BAILOUT Wall St got is far from what the automakers are looking for, but marketslave & betatalk apparently read about as much as George Bush. Foreign mfgs asked for aid from their countries(Bloomberg News), so why not the Big3? The automakers got caught by the lousy economy, nothing more. Some idiots blame the UAW, and thats wrong.

  • The reason is those countries, like ours rely on the auto industry to help finance America. But the foreign governments finance their auto industries because they make cars people want to drive. We DON'T want to loan or bail the out because they make shit and we don't want to drive shit.

If you're gonna throw money at the auto industry, send it to Toyota, Honda, and Mitsubishi or BMW. They're our new Big 3.

  • You can't throw money at Toyoya, Honda, etc;. They're foreign companies! The only reason they're here is because of import quotas from years past. Once they have us by the balls, how much of a price increase can we expect? These foreign companies cannot ramp up production fast enough to satisfy demand, so watch the prices climb. Then again, once they and the idiots who buy their cars thoroughly ruin the US auto industry, we'll wish we had baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and Chevrolet.

  • And yes, the UAW, the CEOs, stockbrokers, and politicians ALL had their hands out. Its money for the taking, where the champagne flows and the parties roll. But now that the American worker sees what rich people have and flaunt what they don't need but enjoy outsourcing American jobs, this is our way of saying NO MORE!

THE WORKING POOR'S NOT GOING TO FUND YOUR BULLSHIT! YOU HELD US HOSTAGE WITH SHIT GAS GUZZLING CARS THAT BREAK ALL THE TIME AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO PAY FOR IT ANY MORE!

  • We're sick of having to cut checks to GMAC, to Ac Delco and MoPar, to foreign oil, to fight fucking wars for oil, making us work shitty low paying jobs and killing our kids in wars for THEIR bullshit!

  • If you don't believe me, why don't you and Simbammg1 watch "Roger & Me" made by Michael Moore in the 1980s. Look at what the fuck the UAW and the Big 3 did 20 years ago. Listen to their wording: what they said THEN is what they're saying NOW!!! Just goes to show they want money and they didn't give a fuck about America.

  • Betatalk and marketshare, two of the most retarded posts I've read yet. Beta, you really don't know what the difference is? If you take a mortgage out on your house, should that be called a bailout too? It's a loan which they will have to pay back not free bailout money. It's funny how everyone seems to forget that it was wall st. and the financial institutions that put us in this mess, not the big 3.

  • Rich people and the UAW are looking to make this their last score, the final retiring payday off of the American taxpayer who doesn't want their shitty cars any more.

Then, they'll close up shop and that's the end of that. When the Big 3 are bankrupt, even though they got a loan, HOW THE FUCK IS AMERICA GOING TO GET MONEY BACK FROM A BANKRUPT BUSINESS???

MUCH LIKE PEOPLE WHO TAKES OUT MORTGAGES, HOW DO U EXPECT THEM TO PAY IT OFF WHEN THEY GO BANKRUPT AND CAN'T AFFORD IT???

  • Sure, sell off whatever assets they have, but what if they don't have that much? You're still at a loss. The Big 3 own burned-out abandonded factories with obsolete tools, obsolete cars fresh from the factory, no money left by Christmas '08, and an assload of debt. So, what type of assets do you think they got left, asshead?

  • You and sep0507 MUST be Obama supporters. Because u 2 have your heads so far up your ass, you can't even see the big picture. Rich people won't invest in the Big 3 unless they have ridiculous profits to be made, so they'll have to do it with taxpayer money.

  • Rather than help finance retooling or revamping the Big 3, they'll buy the cheap ass stock just to gain access to the bridge loan or bailout cash, dump the stocks on Wall Street, and fuck everybody over when the Big 3 fails. OR, if the Big 3 DOES rebound, they'll make millions on the measly couple million they used to buy the stock. EITHER WAY, THE RICH MAKE MONEY OFF THE POOR!! WHO GIVES A SHIT WHETHER OR NOT THE WORKING MAN HAS A FUCKING JOB ANY MORE???

  • marketslave & betatalk357 are spot on... end of discussion.

  • Millions of jobs "going" to be lost? What do you think has been going on for the last year? Is the automotive sector some type of holy grail industry that will save us all? No. Will jobs be lost in the short-term, Yes. Is it necessary? Yes. Buying a new car is at the bottom of everyones priority list in a global recession. A bailout is only temporary. The economy will only turn around when we start producing, and stop consuming.

  • LOAN or BAILOUT- What's the fucking difference Ron? You're still trying to fight for the UAW to get OUR taxpayer money to pay off past obligations under the contracts you bled from the Big 3.

And now, when jobs are at stake, YOU'RE STILL TRYING TO GET THE CASH WITHOUT SHOWING WHAT THE UAW's GOING TO DO FOR IT! Ron, here's the reality: You're in with the Big 3 to STEAL taxpayer money in the dim hopes of trying to "restart the auto industry", but once you get paid, like the CEOs, you're

  • gonna fuck us over by doing what you feel like, WITHOUT REGULATIONS!! You'll go bankrupt and the UAW will walk away with the cash and not have to worry about jobs any more.

The only consolation is we won't have to see any more of your shitty American cars or shitty American car companies EVER AGAIN! My response: Good riddance! Here's your pink slip and Notification for Employment Termination: Merry Christmas!

  • If they get the 14 billion, I'd pay to see the fight between the execs and the union mgmt.
