  • That's some solid shit! Bravo.

here's a spot of friendly (and un-solicited) advice: don't lead with to much awesomeness right out the gates. Let it build.

Listen to: sonny rollins ... st. thomas. Every reed player should check out the saxophone collosus album at some point - it's heavy.

  • AWSOME!! Wish i could play like that

  • very nice. but relax as you crescendo and be precise on the high notes, but good job

  • @ZING998 you don't have to be precise on the high notes when playing jazz!

  • Pavel Ocampo que bien tocas te felicito...que forma de improvisar tan chevere...

  • One bum note can't take away from this performance, great job guys. Just another reminder as to how great the piano and clarinet go together.

  • Great but listen to featured vid.. much slower!

dnt get me rong though it was awesome!

  • perfect duet ;D Bravoo !!

  • Your skills are really good but that song is supposed to be much slower.

  • Wow, i must say....you guys are pretty amazing!

  • cool! i love!

  • yeah this is really great =) well yea that was a boom note on the piano but everything else is good ! =D

  • i think it's too fast!

  • Did anyone else hear the bum note on piano at 0:57 ?

  • @MegaNonsensical : Yeh, your right. I herd it too

  • He does a C, in stead of Bb...

  • yea i couldnt hear the exact letter but it only sounded like he was a halfstep away from the note he meant to play

  • not a half step, but exactly 1 tone.... it seems just like when you want to go UP

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SING! YEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! I sang it with my chior and played in my jazz orchestra.

  • nicely done

  • we played this all the time at nocca

  • God Damn this is a pro, and my hero. Good Job.

  • wow i am so impressed i play clarinet also im a senior in high school. i just love ur tone and your articulation!

    Great Job!

  • No offense but it seems to me that most high schools focus on teaching tone and articulation. I don't know why.

  • you're like boehoehoe i'm a genious I can play by ear.

  • how can you call yourself a genious

  • No offense, honestly, but what the hell are you supposed to teach them? Mastering tone, intonation, and articulation should be a first after you find your way around your horn

  • @Tech502 oh woooww.. HATER

  • @Tech502 oh woooww.. HATER

  • ! you look like me !

  • This was just great! 5 stars!

  • This is what I call jazz!

  • nice

  • nice

  • I like it! would have played a bit more funkier though...i like the jaco version

  • that looks fun!

  • Nice work. A bit classical perhaps, could be more dirty.

  • thats what I thought, it was a nice aspect to aproach a piece from though.

  • Keep doing more variations. I like the one with the tuba. Now have one with like an awesome flute player! Or trombone!

  • looooooooooooooof ;)

  • At 2:21, I can't tell if it was a ridiculously impressively high note, or a VERY in tune squeak. Either way, nice job to both of you!

  • 'Twas a high note.

  • It is a high note.

  • Alot of the big time bands in the 40s and 30s had clarinets in their group. I don't understand why school bands don't allow clarinets as an instrument of jazz.

  • Our school jazz band does occasionally, because we have 2 piano players, one who doubles on clarinet, and the other doubles on flute, but we only use them in like one song each.

  • ors jazz band has 3 clarinets and a bass clarinet and 4 flute, once we even had a violin, it sounded amazing. thats dumb ur school doesnt

  • lucky

  • mine did...

  • this is really good!

  • sucks that most middle school and even some high school jazz bands don't have clarinets. we're not just for concert band! btw love the playing

  • dude that is AWESOME

  • Great stuff, man. I'll be favoriting your material so that my 6-8th grade students can really see what a clarinet can do.

    Superior!

BTW, gotta tip my hat to the key-man. Way to go.

  • hey do you know where i can get the music sheets for this in clarinet i want to do it for a solo at my festival?thank you:P

  • we just did this song in our jazz band! but we didn't have a clarinet in the band. i played tenor saxaphone

  • I'm really inspired! It is great!

  • I heart it! I can play that on the piano and on my clarinet, but I probably do it better on piano. Great job! That's a really good sound. It sounds different from the original... In a very good way. It sounds better. That's the best clarinet playing guy I know....

  • uh... Goodman?

  • aaaaaaaaacckk i wanna play my clarinet in our jazz band!

but my band director says it would ruin the sound >_________>

  • that is soooo mean he is wrong it will make it like 100 times better

  • That is because he has bad taste ;)

  • OMG We are playing this song in my jazz band at school...I play drums in that ensemble, but does anyone know where I can get this sheet music for both clarinet and piano? I have a friend who plase the piano and we have always wanted to do a duet!

  • that was great!

  • that was amazing!

  • long piano solo lol but AWESOME playing from both the clarinet and the piano

    thumbs up!

  • c'est tres bon!!

  • This is the best preformed version of this song that I have found so far- I wish I could get my clarinet out and do that- or jazz up my old antique piano :)

    Cookies for you.

  • I apologise if you get this a lot but where can I get the sheet music for this song?

You're incredible by the way :)

  • bro... find a kit drummer and start up a jazz trio and play some bg3 ........ nice on the piano and the clarinet... thanks postitive comments coming out of this

  • back in my hs days I had to learn Saxophone to be in the jazz band. Its not that hard of a transition. Took me 3 days to get the hang of it...after a week I became pretty good.

  • Ever heard of Benny Goodman? He's the "King of Swing."

  • They won't let clarinets in jazz band at my school. But...I don't particularly care. They don't even play that much jazz, just peppy tunes everyone knows.

  • don't feel bad they won't let claries in jazz bad at my school either

  • they even let flutes into my jazz band. weird!

  • good job!

  • love it!

  • Hey could you by any chance play an arrangement of Rhapsody in Blue? Thanks and excellent job!!

  • OMG we played this in jazz band, but I played tenor sax. I wish I could play it on my clarinet :( This is amazing.

  • i <3 this tune! just because of you, all thanks to you man.

teach me how to improv! i would want to learn from someone like you.

  • beast improv man. give you props.

  • u did an awsome job!! i play the clarinet too! and im in the jazz band in my school!

  • not fair!! our school wont let clarinets into jazz band! Thats why im gonna try to learn saxaphone too =)

  • no.nooooooooooooostay with that damn clarinet, and youll get it,once they hear your awsomeness, they'll be like"we totally need a clarinet in jazz band.I'm in the jazz band at my school, and suddenly i was moved to section leader in jazz and orchestra.dude you gotta stay with it.

  • haha dont worry i def love playing my clarinet and i wont ever give that up but i wanted to learn sax too anyway so i just got it yesterday and im trying to figure it out but dont worry jonnyboy78 i wont stop playing clarinet and congrats on being section leader!

  • i was in the same situation as you: clarinet player wanting to join the jazz band. i had already been playing clarinet for 7 years when i first picked up a tenor sax. it took me a day to figure out how to play it. going from clarinet to sax is a piece of cake. it's been a week since your post, so i'll assume you've already got it down. ;D

  • haha =D yep ur right!! its really easy to make the transition although i know that going from sax to clarinet is more difficult. But unfortunetly jazz band already started so im gonna have to wait till next year =(

  • or even easier, is clarinet to bass clarinet (also sometimes in jazz band, at least our jazzband has 2)

  • I loved this!

  • Absolutly fantastic! An amazing clarinetist!

  • Amazing dude.
