  • Totally ripped our S**T!!!!!!

This track was ripped by Gemini Lounge Records/Flatline Productions. Don't fall for the hype. That's why he teetered around about the sample for so long. He knew he hijacked that sample. No creativity whatsoever!!!!

  • Yeah, all of the greats used samples in their songs.

  • I agree with alot of people not knowing what their talking about on expert village but this guy is saying just one specific thing amongst an ocean of things to do in making beats. I didn't hear anything he said thats bad for you in making beats ? Let me know if he said something that would be bad for you

  • thats tight !

Come & Check Our Collection Of Beats Too

    Peace______

  • I mean Samples are good to use for inspiration but using them as the only way to create music.. Fail. I would personally use samples, but I would most likely add my own twist to how it sounds. Also, In this video you repeat the same statements like 20 times each...

  • @owenish10 actually almost every hit hip hop/rap song was created using samples...you just don't realize it...even half the R n B stuff out from mariahs stuff all the way down to timbos stuff..trust most music is all samples...listen harder...

Even if its not the "samples" your talking about, almost all drums and percussion synths, etc..are digital samples..so I beg to differ.

    KAge

  • lol very sample driven

    you mean uncreative right

  • @SoldierCyfix Hip Hop is sample based duh!

  • at first i was like "ok.." but then ( 2:07) i was like "wtf?"

  • @Onlineshrekjr Ayo what did you not understand After 2 minutes in?

like really that sample is dope, put a 1/4 beat on that shit with repeated hi hat hits and a Bass line to match the hit of the Tiffany drum and i say you got a East side bangger made! and the other "Hit" he was talking about could be used for like a hook or change up in the song its self. its all about how you see the sample. the dude is right if you dont lesson closely you can miss out on a whole song.

  • @Onlineshrekjr HAHA

  • @NooneEverReallyDiez because they are not experts.

  • @BWCAkmed faiiillll troll

  • @BWCAkmed Chicago is in the east coast fuckin retard

  • if you use samples, fine, but don't call yourself a musician,

  • @gibson5923 - Absolutely! I agree with you on that.

  • He is black. Why am I not surprised.

  • nigga thats a shit sample SOme one come on who knows wtf ther talkin bout

  • thx to this dude i made my own rap its called till i fight

  • lmao orchestra samples hahahahha

  • come on expert village sort your videos out, organise or number them or SOMETHING

  • .... you spend a whole day, for "thos" 10 seconds? :D ... maaan, you've waisted your time...

  • orchestra? wtf is this guy thinking. i sample a lot and i never use orchestra as a primary sample loop.

  • shiiiiittttttt

  • @NooneEverReallyDiez i can only assume expert village was created by someone with severe brain damage who is too retarded to realize the people they choose for videos are equally retarded

  • hey peep me out i only got 1 vid but i can put up vids on any thing u need from pro tools mixing to FL sampling..halla!!!

  • and so on

  • Expert Village must be sponsored by VEVO.. fucking idiots lol

  • theres even a few songs that copy a whole song, like "nuthin' but a "g" thang" by dr. dre, "Changes" by 2Pac, and "Juicy" by Notorious BIG. aside from a little synth, all those songs are just the originals with rap lyrics overdubbed.

  • all of you little fucks should listen he doesnt use the sample

rather he lets the sample inspire him in order for him to create original loops

    with similar sounds

yall cats need to learn how to listen to context

  • @memento313 everything is easy to do depending on how much practice you have,

just out of curiosity do you compose overtures or symphonies or just sit at a key board and talk shit?

  • I love hip hop music. But, its sad that its music as an art form is bad compared to other genres. Most hip hop music lacks variations and on top of that its mostly sampled which is just a nicer way of saying copying.

  • @bikaz06 Sampling isnt copying. Does the song Uptown by Drake sound anything like the song Uptown Girl? Well guess what Uptown samples Uptown Girl. At first its hard to tell where the sample is in the song. I'm still not sure where they are.

This guy is giving an example of sampling. Most sampled beats are very complex. it is hard to tell where the sample is in most sampled beats.

Otherwise your wrong. Hiphop has lots of variation. If you dont like it dont listen to it.

  • @Blademuzic lol what an ignorant statement.

  • . I already said i loved hip hop in my initial comment. Most mainstream songs lack variations..

  • @Blademuzic and hip hop songs that sample another beat they just take a little piece of music and just loop it over and over and that is copying. If you need examples of what I mean. I will gladly give you a bunch of examples.

  • omg...if i have the best gear in the world but im a noob without ears i cant make music:( sorry

  • @memento313 u hatin on people who sample yet you suggest using frooty loops which is like telling people to who make movies " HEY GUYS WHY SPEND ALL THAT MONEY ON A REAL GOOD CAMERA WHEN YOU CAN MAKE MOVIES WITH A FLIP HD CAMERA FOR $100". lol. no dice bro.

  • Comment removed

  • @memento313

I did exactly that with my first hiphop beat! Sampled two soul records, added a kick, a snare and looped the hell out of it. Worked out fine. My gear: an old laptop, cracked Fruityloops, windows sound recorder & free audacity.

Most importantly; it's fun to do.

  • samples are for fakers!!!! make ur ur own sounds!!!!!

  • anyone knows what kind of mixing board he's using?

  • For all y'all slagging him don't know shit! If you don't know your history then don't say shit. The east coast is very sample orientated, the sample he's used is different, but sounds original cause it's not computer generated like lil wayne's shit beats! Keep doing your thing.

  • Hey!I'm a young Producer from Germany!Just uploaded some HOT Beats to get some feedback! So check them out! Thanks!!"

  • the captions aren't necessary.

  • and theyre probably wrong anyway! lol im not looking at them so they could be right but usually on expert village videos the words that come on the screen arent actually what the person is saying lol like a dude talking about choosing pens to write raps with, which i found hilarious cuz it was such a pointless thing to say, but then it was even funnier when i realised the captions said pants instead of pens and a whole lot of other mixed up nonsense lol

  • Blacks do not speak very formal.

  • Don't you have to have permission to use samples of other groups or artists? I mean isn't it stealing if you sample someone without acknowledging them?

  • yeah you actually need to have the permission to use the samples. Usually you pay for nothing all the way to 20G's or even more ... if you don't have permission u may end up in a trial

  • @liveweyer Thats If you use it on an album

if its on a mixtape or demo you can go fucking nuts

w/ samples lol Check My Shit Out

    Comment And Rate

  • that sample sounds like crap

  • I agree...the sample sounds like something from a King Kong movie...I wouldn't chop this up.

  • doesnt matter where the sample is from. if its dope its dope. this sample however is garbage.. im sure someone has sampled something from king kong before.. The godzilla sample for pharaoh monchs simon says is fucking incredible..

  • naaaa

  • nigga look like hov'

  • na, penny hardaway

  • lol, kinda

  • u talk to much

  • i wanna hear that laid down with fat drums

  • What's that sample called?

  • Does anyone know what software hes using?? I'm assuming its pro tools, but I can't see his screen too clearly.

  • I think it might be logic..

  • u need talent more then software :D

  • @insectism

    Thats true...

  • If there is a god, he is an evil one, for letting a moron like this attempt to impart "advice" on anybody thinking about how to go about creating sample-based music.

First off, you don't get started by "finding" samples on sample CDs. That's for lazy producers. You're not going to get good at this by using ready-to-sample CDs.

Secondly, the samples he chose were garbage, and I doubt a single MC/singer would have found the beat he was about to make remotely interesting.

    Expert Village: FAIL!

  • SO what would be your advice?

Where would you get samples from?

  • Go to record stores, trawl thru charity shops, search the dollar bins.

Buying sample CDs teaches you nothing about where to find samples.

Forget the ready-made solutions and learn the process by going out and actually looking for samples on records.

Do it properly and you'll feel like you've achieved something. Every good hip hop producer has learned this way: DJ Premier, Pete Rock, 9th Wonder etc etc.

  • u know , you dont always have to sample OLD records, you can always go to the MOST UNDERGROUND unknown music nowdays, that could sound pretty nice at times to sample ^^

  • @Tableturn yeah Get them hands dirty..In fact old scool sample aint the only thing to draw from. Everybody has their own way of catching bits and piece. ITs your ear listening not theirs. They is no right way to make music.

  • I totally understand about getting samples from vinyl BUT, the advantage producers have with sample cd's is when you buy them, the fee your paying is the sample clearance royalty and non exclusive license wrapped in one that gives you permission from the samples copyright holder to use the samples in your beats/songs and legally sell em or try to license them yourself to thru pump audio etc.. sampling from vinyl wil have you makin good shit but you can't legally release without clearance...

  • Clearance is not producer's issue.. Its the label that deals with it

  • this guy repeats himself too much

  • Is this guy related to Jay Z, man they look alike.

  • @DJYNOT2 i know right haha

  • F*** sample CDs. Collect vinyl and sample that.

  • DJ premier uses a lot of samples...thats my fav thing about DJing

  • NOOB VILLAGE

  • LMAO

  • this niggas trippin hip hop is vynil driven not cd driven. all the raw shit is recorded on vynil anyways, thats part of the whole deal gettin dusty fingers lookin for them raw samples. premo, PR, Rza, Dilla, Madlib, kanye, and just blaze all crate dig. and you aint gotta clear a sample unless your big enough to get signed and moving serious units and by that time your label will take care of that

  • Must be nice to be a success doing what you like to do. I wonder if that'll ever happen for me.

  • keep ya head up fam

im grindin tyrna do da same

  • Im askin that myself all the time aswell... I think its just practice, experience, creativity and motivation that you need... alot that is ;-)

  • Is it leagal to sample any song?

  • It depends on if you can get it cleared by the original artist (that is if you are going to sell it or release it on the radio or other types of public meadia)

  • you have to clear the sample

  • only if you intend to make money. no one cares if you sample something and nothing comes of it.

  • who cares.. i sample all day long ;)

  • LOL. Thats the way dood... your like me ;-)

  • :D Niice dude!!!

  • google the willy lynch letter

    and think

  • Is this Tupac? Greets Heidi from the Hills

  • sample driven lol thats all kanye ever does

  • PLLLLLEEEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEEE stop the violence! lol

  • well your some dead shit skinny long haired white kid from NETERLANDS!

why do you care about LA and NY?

why are you even listening to gangster rap?

i mean what the fuck r u meant to be some 12 year old wigger with long hair and brace's?

    fucking idot! give up!

  • Why is it that black guys can act white but white guys cant act black??

  • He's acting like he want's to which to me is what I would call acting normal, if you are a certian colour it dont mean you have to act like the rest of that colour because everyone is different, do you understand? If your talking about him not acting like he's from the ghetto then well not every black person is from the ghetto, oh and white people come from the ghetto aswell, maybe that's what you define as acting 'black' or acting 'white.

  • Kanye West may have been born and lived most of his life in Chicago, but he moved to New York where his career was made. His music was also mostly influenced by East Coast music.

  • kanyes midwest. lol not east coast

  • kanye needs 2 go back 2 sampling and rappin none ov this autotune singin bullshit......!

  • i kno man its starting to get annoying.

  • it's called artist evolution...he'll go back to all that sooner or later

  • @vinfil5 but makes beats for east coast rappers like dead prez and jay z ?

  • REASON 4.0

  • mean you are sick of music

  • Seriously? Loop CD's? What serious producer would use loop CD's?

  • This is prob good for people that start out though.

  • @twisterrk dr. dre, jay z, ice cube just to mention a few does just that..

  • @twisterrk There are lots of creators, who are not that good in creating beats on their own, so they need an idea. I do not buy them, but i know many people who do, and although there are very cool beats at the end. :)

  • exactly what i needed. thanks. very helpful

  • Comment removed

  • ay what do i need 2 start maken beats like a keyboard n what eles??
