Hells bells... I "remember" many many moons ago ... (I think back then - it was a worlds first even...?) Dunedin ... 1970-72? The Octagon ... They had a very very expensive Fountain system installed THAT ACTUALLY HAD not just the water fountain JETS swaying & pulsating DIRECTLY controlled by the music... BUT a fully interactive LIGHTING DISPLAY - into & through the jets of water... AT NIGHT (but the vandals srcewed it with soap bubbles & it was dismantled & cemented over)

Even utilising HUGE laser projection sets (And even had ... Houston in Lights)

Micheal Jean Jarre` displayed NOT only a magnificent array of MUSICALLY CONNECTED light displays with HAND_TUNED "sound" from intercepting laser beams,

He also had MANY skyscrapers LIT with whole scenes (such as the moon landing video)

But..

Possibly in "time" to music ...but not DELIBERATELY set into a spacial sphere via surround_sound channels

(and NOT even relative to the actual frequency attributes of accompanying "sound")

Just a well choriographed display of "virtual Ballerina dancers" - using stage fog & some coloured lights?

I just went to Disneyland on April 1, 2010 and World Of Color will officilly start in the spring of this year. It looks really amazing, I can hardly wait. They are also adding a new "land" called Cars Land, but that won't open until 2012. Also, they are finally making a ride about the little Mermaid but it won't open until 2011. This will all take place in Disney's California Adventure.

when i went on january 21 2010 at 11 oclock they were testing the pocohontas scene it was cool...... also i found out that they test it at night after the park closes sunday-friday

I cannot wait for this thing! To answer the questions about when it will open, the Un official date is May 1st as of now but we will see with more rain in the forecast maybe they will just program the show in the rain :) It is a water show anyways. Seating area though, I just say suck it up, the concrete is done and work through the rain. Oh well. ;-)

Actually, the Date released by Disney was June 11th, supposedly Opening ith Summer Nightastic, but after Disney announced that the Release date was misinterpreted, they pulled the announcement. We are now left to wait and see...

They are both going to use the original song and an updated version. I wouldn't be surprised if the difference noted in the second half of the video is a transitioning from the old into the newer as the newer version has a faster tempo.
