Centrifugal superchargers are very different.... Better lol. roots and twin screw need more spooling than cent chargers.... and the heat soak with these chargers is CRAZY. Timing retard to the max. I still love this car, takes a LOT of work to mod a tsx, compared to rex....
Nice TSX there - interesting torque figure though, I'd have thought it'd be much higher considering those superchargers produce full boost from low rpm's. When I first got my centrifugal supercharger on, it did 200ft/lb at 6psi with no intercooling on my 2L subaru
@rayzmx6 dyno shouldnt be used for bragging rights, its just a tool for tuning. he wont make 223WHP on any other dyno (well, Im sure there are some with the same calibrations) but he knew what he was pushing stock on "that" dyno, and what hes now pushing on "that" dyno. had he been on the dyno one place, modded the car and then got on the dyno somewhere else and said he makes 59whp more, it wouldnt be an accurate number.
@rayzmx6 and your si with a K&N filter, isnt some freak that puts down 40 more whp than the rest of the SI's running around, talk to the dyno operator about how he has that thing setup, plus some dyno types just read higher than other types which is one other factor you have to consider if you are trying to use your numbers as bragging rights...
Well the tsx can now get a turbo set up. But i wouldnt recommend getting something like that for this car because it would be highly expensive. If you want a boost car go with something that you know would hold alot of PSI. like evo, sti srt-4 etc. The tsx is more of a luxury that turbo type of car.
wrong, althought luxurious, its still got a wonderfully boostable heart the K24.. takes really well to boost, dont know why I dont see more modded TSXs
i had a g35 with an hks hi power a manifold an intake header and hi flow cat, i traded it for a tsx and im not regretting any of it. although i wish it had more braking power like the g35 since it had brembos and the tsx has stockness. but i love the front wheel drive better for weather and the tsx doesnt seem as cheap of an interior and hondas are alot cheaper to work on and easier
Its funny how someone says pay more and not tune. Honestly, if you pay less and tune. You still save more and it will be faster. So... Win win? It's like saying buying a fully loaded TSX and G35 30K vs 40K. 10K for TSX to mod, I'm pretty sure with about 9K mods to the TSX it can take out the g35 and you save 1K.
lmao nobody knows the difference b/w wheel and crack horses...you see this convo on every dyno vid. Nice TSX, I've always loved the sound of a blown engine...I hope that after college I can drop a K24 into my F23 Cl
was it worth the 4-5 thousand dollars? i have a 2004 tsx and someone crashed into it while it was parked so i figure now since it's all fucked up and i can't sell it for anything i'll at least reflash it with hondata or comptech sc. your input is appreciated. 223 at the wheels sounds fun.
wonder if that engine will fit in a DA

too bad superchargers use a good percentage of the gain HP just to run the supercharger itself...lol turbo ftw!!

hm, seems kinda low for a tsx. i ahve an 07 si and dynoed 220whp on a mustang dyno with stock kn filter and test pipe. stock exhaust.

psh, a/c is overrated. especially when 300 hp is involved.
TheTexasPro 2 years ago
there is a turbo out there but you have to remove the a/c condenser but it promises about 300 to the wheels.

i'm not sure who'd want to give up their AC for a turbo.

how much did the mod cost cuz i have a tsx and i want to do that
royespi 3 years ago
its around $4000 plus install im pretty sure. It'll boost it up to 250hp though! I personally wouldnt do this to my TSX.. not worth the 4000 to me.

50 hp at the wheels is more like 70 at the crank, (very rough estimate)

the TSX is only around 170 +/- Wheel Horse power... 205 is at the flywheel!
205 looks nice on paper, but its feels nicer at the wheel
evertp1 4 years ago 4
im confused the stock tsx comes wit 205 hp so y did u put all that money nd work in and all u got was 223hp?
tsxballing345 4 years ago
thats 223whp. TSX is rated at 205bhp which is HP measured at the crank. In actuality the TSX is making around 250bhp
thirdlane85 4 years ago
No it makes 177 hp always has. Maybe with boost it can make 250 at the block
