One of the greatest, strangest comics ever put on paper. It can be a bit uneven at times, and sadly, some of the art sucks.
I own the series, have read it 5 or 6 times in the last 3 years. It literally changed my life & mind, and I get something new and wonderful w/ each read.
But it's not for everyone; a few people I know hate it, as much as the rest love it. Borrow (many libraries have comics) or buy used copies at 1st (Amazon is good,) since 7 new graphic novels = around $150.
I love how everyone calls him crazy, he's simply well read and has down an great job of crafting a voice between texts like every other postmodern author. Unfortunately this is lost on many a comic book reader.
Oh god, i'm so looking forward to it, thanks sequartTV and Morrison for this gift to us mortals :*
Anyway, the subs really helps, I'm not english mother language but I understand it well, but, I have to say, scottish\irish\cockney accent really destroys me, I hope in the final release you'll put subtitles in the docu...
I really respect his work. It is not superficial, it is not weird for weirdness sake. You get the feeling that he cares about the reader and wants to reach him at a deeper level and at the time entertain him in the most exiciting way. He is not looking for followers he wants you to think for yourself. There are many people who think that Matrix owes a lot to him.
@SequartTV You have to watch this vid several times over to come to an understanding of his ramblings. And by "understanding", I mean "creative interpretation".
A very Scottish English... Just like if a foreigner from Africa tries to speak English, it is still subbed if it's not understandable. Who the hell understands Scottish but the Scottish themselves? :-P Maybe the Magicians.
"Doom Patrol" and "The Invisibles" rocked my world when I was a teenager, but as I get older I can't help but feel like Morrison is dangerously close to becoming something like a bad 60s metaphysics guru, selling his hallucinations to timid, pasty fanboys who will never go into the desert themselves. I hope whoever is doing this documentary doesn't let GM completely get away with selling his psychological snake oil.
That said, can't wait to see the final product (and reading Batman and Robin)
We're super excited about it. We still have to film him in San Diego at the con. Plus we're hoping to visit Scotland and shoot some more there. It's gonna be great!
I'm a recent convert to Morrison, and I don't like everything(Invisibles was actually a bit too out there for me), but ASS, JLA, New X-men, Animal Man, Doom Patrol, We3, KYB, Batman '07; I love them all. I'm very much looking forward to this(and I hope it not ALL about the Invisibles and all its crazy, sometimes self-indulgent ideas).
Is there an option on the dvd to turn the subtitles off? I'm English and can understand him perfectly.

In all fairness, and imho, Final Crisis might have sucked far less if it weren't for all the f*cking editorial mandates.
Then again you could probably say that about any cross-continuity miniseries and be totally justified.

GRANT MORRISON IS THE NEXT ALAN MOORE AND STAN LEE......
harveydents 1 year ago
WTF?
He´s a contemporary comic book artist. And while he´s done some interesting stuff that´s all he is, A CONTEMPORARY COMIC BOOK ARTIST, nothing more!
Does that warrant a fullblown documentary about him, with him talking esoterical BS about himself??
Really?
Where are the documentaries about Jean Giraud, Druillet, Richard Corben and all the other people who REALLY had a deep influence on the 7th art?

I think this is premiering at some ComicCon in California in July?
