It is interesting how the music of the kind of bands ridiculed and derided in the "serious music" press like the NME and Sounds and Melody Maker such as Shock, Tik & Tok, R.E.R.B., Landscape actually sounds far less dated than the kind of music we were told is avant-garde and cutting edge and of the moment..the exclusion of this kind of music at the time gives it a curiously non-temporal feel to it as though it could have been made 29 seconds ago never mind 29 years!
Hey guys, this is Jeff Myers/Jeff Jinx, lead singer with 'I Am Alone', in 1982 we put you on the bill at quite a few of our London gigs - notably 'The Embassy Club'. I'm sure you went by the name 'Photostat Robots' back then. I was really impressed. This is the kind of thing you have to see live and up close. Look me up on FaceBook if you get the time. Best wishes! :)
So futurist, it just leaves me breathless every time i watch it. How come we dont have cool clubs like this now in the year 2010??? Thank you Mark and Glenn
Had the pleasure of meeting Mark and Glen in 1986 at the Limelight in London and in some basement studio somewhere in Kingston. Nicest people you could wish to meet. Great to see this vid, brings back memories. Guys, hope you're doing good. Thanks for posting! A+
Got to know them in a video arcade in Leicester Square. Favourite game: track and field. Can anyone still remember that game? Awesome. Great lads. They'll flash you their teeth every once in a while.
Dickhead... I wouldn't put these guys in the same sentence or league as Mr Tovey. Frank was a pioneer. Just compare both, back- catalogues! I rest my case.
wow me gustan la musica y el baile de Fotostat tiene ese estilo New Romantic que es bastante Cool

Damn, such a long time ago. The early '80's seem like such a strange time. They thought they were so futuristic.
That's pretty cool though, in its own way.

they WERE futuristic.
