Congrats -- I wouldn't worry much about that shot. A quick, clean kill is always to best way to take a deer. My first deer jumped and I hit it in the ankles (speared the two hind legs together) so it couldn't run. Ended up having to shoot it again -- felt bad for that one.
I think i nicked the bottom the spine. It's not the way I wanted to kill it, but the nerves got the best of me I guess. Still got the job done though.
Better than my first bow kill. I shot mine just in front of the back leg because i was shaking so bad and the wind was blowing so hard. First deer is a heck of an experience especially with a bow. Nice shot by the way.

the shot got the job done, but you draw must of have got her attention she was sure lookin spooky there before that arrow flew. Did you shot here again or cut her throat? To me that was always the punishment for a spine shot with the bow was cutting the throat esp the first one you learn real quick to keep the arrows in boiler room.
i just got my kill last saturday. a little 7 point! i was pretty lucky to get a buck as a first deer!! I did shoot a little high but he just dropped! i finished him off with a second (heart) shot to lessen its suffering. man i can't to eat that deer!!

Congrats -- I wouldn't worry much about that shot. A quick, clean kill is always to best way to take a deer. My first deer jumped and I hit it in the ankles (speared the two hind legs together) so it couldn't run. Ended up having to shoot it again -- felt bad for that one.

I think i nicked the bottom the spine. It's not the way I wanted to kill it, but the nerves got the best of me I guess. Still got the job done though.

Better than my first bow kill. I shot mine just in front of the back leg because i was shaking so bad and the wind was blowing so hard. First deer is a heck of an experience especially with a bow. Nice shot by the way.

the shot got the job done, but you draw must of have got her attention she was sure lookin spooky there before that arrow flew. Did you shot here again or cut her throat? To me that was always the punishment for a spine shot with the bow was cutting the throat esp the first one you learn real quick to keep the arrows in boiler room.

i just got my kill last saturday. a little 7 point! i was pretty lucky to get a buck as a first deer!! I did shoot a little high but he just dropped! i finished him off with a second (heart) shot to lessen its suffering. man i can't to eat that deer!!

Not too bad for your first archery kill. In all reality though, you should have taken the shot earlier. If you had, maybe your shot placement would have been better and you would have had a better angle.
