  • Um, why are the actors filipino and the language is tagalog?lol

  • @plasmichoneytrip it's indonesian not tagalog

  • @ozbournzz Are you even Indonesian or Filipino???If not, I should know that these guys are speaking in Tagalog and one of the actors is in fact, a famous filipino villain. Nat Geo should be more careful. We do have cable in the Philippines, you know.

  • @plasmichoneytrip lol...

  • WHat he hell i wanna know what happens jesus crist you guys are killing me

  • @QuantumQuacks You are so naive. Try taking your Pollyanna view of the world overseas, see how far it gets you.

  • The only thing that I don't get is why he'd choose to take a friend with him that was into smuggling. That's stupid to do, should have gone seperated ways and meet there or something. But stil, very sad story.

  • I feel sad for this guy that he lost his wife and child, got in prison for nothing and got beat up...but he came out. An amazing, if sad story.

  • shit, that happens in morocco, to anybody they don't like. Somebody plants something on you and then tells the police, just for fun....scary world.

  • @sprawlmessiah

The Phillipines is so corrupt that innocent people easily end up in jail.

    God bless you.

  • @longlifemilk3000 and everyone else- the point wasnt them thinking no one would notice...thats common sense that it was filmed in the Philippines...any idiot would know that. its just a movie...shot on location. u think the movies u watch are all filmed on exact locations? lol! open ur mind silly...

  • @0:41 the sign board is NAIA which means Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Ninoy Aquino is a hero in Philippines and the husband of the late President Cory Aquino. And the police is an actor in Philippines also...hehehe!

  • I thought he was lock up in Indonesia? Why is it that they're saying tagalog a Philippine language? The people in jail and in hospital is using the word tagalog!hahaha...Crazy set-up!

  • i remember this episode, one of the best... should go to Hollywood..

  • First thing i thought was that this could just have been the script of a movie

  • Great book.....the sunday smuggler

  • he sounds like the Geico gekko

  • i remember this episode

  • wheres part 2??

  • So sorry, assholes, this is actually a very true and tragic story. Chris gave me the court transcripts, along with a rough draft of his book and it is all a travesty of justice.

If you happen to be reading this, Russell, hope you remember the grapes I brought you many years ago.

  • for all you sceptics out there, I met Chris and visited him several times in Malang jail not long after the attack. He was the most chirpy, realistic and optimistic guy I have ever met. He was released under a presidential pardon (after serving over 12 years) not long after; one of Suharto's last annual pardons.

  • chris's book the sunday smuggler helped me out a lot in Samatra when i did a small stint there, amazing stuff. do you know where I can watch this full episode?

  • @bazzablues100 after serving 11 years

  • Just messing with him

  • where can i watch this FULL VIDEO?

  • do u know where you can watch this one yet?

  • Chris (the suspect) are not allowed to go to Indonesia anymore that's why they make the film here in the Philippines the police Chief who is always smoking is a very good actor here in the Philippines they make the film there in Laguna.

  • Yeah, we Filipinos dont put foreigners to prison specially western folks. Thats how good the people in this country, even if they did, we would just trade them for a Filipino criminal jailed in the counterpart country

  • Prison in Indonesia is one of the WORST in the world, I'm Indonesian, even I'm never imprisoned, i know in Indonesian prison, people killing each other just for tiny amount of food.

  • why are they talkin in filipino????

  • @jordan69969 Filmed in the philipines. They think no one will notice!

  • @longlifemilk3000 yeah with the words "dali dali" means hurry hurry!

  • Where does one find the full version of this? I didn't see it on the Bio Channel and I watch said channel a lot. For that matter, where can one watch all of these ? They appear to just be clips.

  • I think they show it on the National Geographic channel but I don't now at what time

  • I saw yhis one on tv... Wo could do something like this...

  • I feel sorry for him and his family, I lookf forward to the full release here in Asia.

Anyway, the WIFE IS ACTED BY MY SISTER!!

I AM PROUD OF YOU SIS, YOU DID A GREAT JOB!!

  • Hey mate:D

Do you know who played Chris Parnell?

Think i have seen him before but I'm not sure

  • Zack dela Rocha of RATM

  • Nah that aint him:S I know how Zack look pretty well...

  • tip . if you are arrested in a foreign country and they want a bribe to get out pay it never mind if you are guilty or not pay it then get the fuck out of that country as quick as you can

  • wtf where can i watch the whole episode of all the locked up abroads??

  • Dude, I just watched this guys story, it was the best Locked Up Abroad yet. If it were a movie, it would be awesome in the right directors and producers hands. I would watch it.

  • I would too! I really think they should make this into a movie... as long as they don't screw it up like they do some movies.

Like The Outsiders: awesome book; not so awesome movie. It still hits a nerve though... *Sniffle* It's such a sad story! T_T

And my dad had to walk in while I was crying, too... I hate his timing...

  • Ydoc- Yeah, I just watched it too! This guy had an amazing story. Playing crazy, escape attempts, the whole nine yards. If this was a movie people wouldn't even believe it! We don't realize how good we have it here in the USA. Even if you get busted you have some rights, and prison here is scary, but nothing like these foreign hell holes. Man, do NOT get busted overseas!!

  • liars. they were shooting this in manila! that police guy is a well known Filipino actor!

  • you are 100% correct sir, something like this might have happened sometime in the world. But this story is just something thought up by some people. Nothing you will see on tv will ever be real.

  • Comment removed

  • i own this guys book of his account in this prison you retard

  • no you dont, I owuld need the proof that you do not have.

  • what ever happend to his wife and friend?

  • where can i find this full story..i wanna show my fam bam...anybody?

  • I also want to know where to find the full version but... what the heck is a "fam bam"?

  • when i said i wanted to show my fam bam i meant show my family !! and friends....you know' FAM BAM lol

  • Man, he should have just paid the bribe. Westerners need to realize that all their rights and privileges and ideas of fairness and justice end at the border of their own country, and out there in the third world, you play by their rules.

  • aint that the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @emaresea Americans really need to understand what a fair and free country we live in. The ones who complain are the ones who never have been to countries like this. They think this is a bad country because of pot holes and graffiti. Gob bless america and our western allies. Democracy will prevail because it is right

  • they did this in the philippines. that actor is filipino.

  • WTF, where's the whole f*** story!!

  • that is what the fuck i say

  • @Gwen102938 This man is one of my heros ive read his book it's fantastic you can can more of his tail on his web site if you type christopher V V parnell into google you will find it

  • Stop chainmailing

  • this is not in indonesia.. they did this in phillipines and they use tagalog language..

  • 6. You will look like an idiot

  • This douchebag should have gave him the watch.... And why did he not gouge that guys eyes out that was trying to kill him...

  • he was asking for travelers checks too, which probably means most of his money, and it was the first day of his trip, and his flight back would have to be rescheduled probably, but that would cost money too.

  • @KLA551K oo big tough man you wouldv been dead in a few seconds mate.

  • wtf happened to his wife and kid?

  • PHILIPPINES!

  • He reminds me of Johnny Depp, Lol.

  • those guys are so screwed up i would have went comando on sum one lolz

  • Really Interesting! I'm Going To Watch It!

  • So far I do not see why this video is entitled Criminal Scapegoat. This is pure extortion by the police.

  • thats pretty freakin horrifyin but what has the australian government been doing?

  • it's not like it's easy to get one of your citizens charged with drug trafficking out of a country were it is very strongly frowned upon.

even if they don't have much evidence, they will not send hom to australia with out his name being cleared/his sentence being over

  • check out the im on a boat remix on my page

  • Wpw very interesting! Im really going to watch this tomorrow and i so need to know how this end's and what happen's to his Wife and his Daughter !

  • wow the story is amazing cant wait to watch the episode

  • This just convinced me to cancel my trip to Asia later in the summer. With the value of the dollar falling, I can surely enjoy a vacation in a much safer and more beautiful USA.

  • Comment removed

  • The PI with a side trip to HK. But that is now CANCELLED.

  • this show is cool.

  • what happens?? how do we find out? where is part 2

  • theres certain things you gotta pay to watch....lol...

  • where is part 2 ffs, it is rude to show an incomplete show... i wanna know what happend to this poor man and his family

  • National Geographic just puts little teasers on their channel so hopefully you'll subscribe to their TV channel too

  • scary!

  • This is called an reenactment, idiots,

Did you honestly think that the guy had cameras rolling around him when the incident happened?

  • it's called a reenactment of a true story, idiot.

shit went down even harsher than that in real life.

  • @ kennyrasyid:

    You're a complete moron.

  • There is a book written about this, and stupid trailer, they made it look so nice but I don't have the damn channel~!!!!!!

  • they aren't really indonesians.. they are just actor.. the way the person say selamat is totally not indonesian. but one thing for sure, this really shows how bad the government policy in indonesia. i hope with this show, cops and govenment would feel ashamed with this incident and try to take action against any similar event

  • indonesia? how come der speaking tagalog

  • This is an exciting story.

    What a fucking idiot though.

Give him your shit. then cancel all your travelers checks and bounce from indonesia. Then have your country file an international injuction. Ending in execution of the guys who robbed you.

  • brilliant reasoning

  • except they probably wouldn't release you after they take everything

  • That's true. I guess you would have to jump across the desk and kill the prison warden with your teeth. Then Kill every person who approached you from that point forward. Then finally once you've killed your way out of the builing you would have to light the place on fire with a rag stuffed into a bottle of alcohol. As the placed explodes behind you, you would then have to walk away in slow motion with the masive fire ball behind you.

  • really, i thought you would some how rig a large amount of explosives in the basement and run, making sure that jsut as you get out, it blows up, and you fly a few metres in the air, getting up with a few cuts and bruises then to walk of normally

  • unlucky guy :/

  • See in order for that to work there would have to be some sort of female co-star who you could grab with one arm while you flew through the air shielding her from the fire that pases over your body but doesn't burn you. Although it does make sense to use the confiscated explosives that they stored in the basement of the prison to cause the place to explode in flames. The fireball would probably alert the United states army, then choppers would fly in and pick you up.

  • ofcourse, ofcourse, i daresay they would pick you up right at the explosion. but you would have to have escaped to the roof and the explosion propels you to the exact height required for you to be able to grab the very bottom of the rope they drop. then miraculously you hang from this one handed, with your other hand holding your female co-star.

  • Now this scenario is starting to make sense. The only thing is the warden was not killed after all! And he shoots the stabilizing propellar of the chopper. This causes it to spin. You tell your female costar to hang on but she slips so you tie a cable from the chopper to your leg and do a skydive after her. Once you catch her you loop the cable around a large pole which causes the chopper to quickly whip around and crash directly into the prison warden, he makes an "oh shit" face and is crushed.

  • ahh, yes, but just one more thing, there has to be another side kick, who went down to save you. he went to distract the warden so you could get out, but dies in the process. and when they go through the remnants of the building, his body is undamaged besides the three knives it took to take him down lodges in his chest

  • Well that's the only logical next step.

You and your female costar look at the body, she says: "he was a good man." then you say: "He was my friend." Then you kneel down and put your fathers pocket watch in his pocket. Then use your hand to close his eyes in one motion.

  • yes, i can say, almost for sure that this is complete

  • How did you watch the rest of this - I can't figure out where it is?

  • TV.

    Tonight at 10 et/pt

  • sansash01202, tonight at 10 pm the show is on national geographic.

  • Thanks - I missed it? oh well, perhaps it will be repeated.

  • Where can i see the rest of this episode?

  • ? me too

  • Why the hell would you go to that shithole for a vacation when there are so many other beautiful places in the world?

  • Coz bali is the one of the most beautiful places in the world. It was bombed by terrorist a few times but still attract tourist from all over the world.

  • Family Maybe, or you love to See every part of the world because vacationing is more than just tourist spots.

  • fuck you , you don't know what the hell you are talking about

  • Should have signed over the checks and given them your watch. You have a wife and kids and obviously you were not thinking of them at the time. Bite it and leave!

  • Dajuhan2u

If he did, he would be admitting to be in possession of those drugs. Who knows what they would of done to him then.

  • If he would have done that, he would be in even worst situation. They would charge him for drugs procession and trying to bribe them.

If you seriously think the cops were that nice, then you would be dead.

  • This is weird.

It supposed to have happened in Indonesia but the re-enactment was in the Philippines.

0:41 - NAIA is an airport in the Philippines

1:35 - "Tumahimik ka (Shut up)" is a Filipino word.

    1:58 - He's a Filipino actor (Dick Israel)

  • Well there's no way the Indo gov't would allow the reenactment of a story about corruption to be filmed on their soil.

I used to live in Sumatra and I too noticed that the language being spoken in this video wasn't Bahasa.

  • it is bahasa, i understand that language.

  • Saya bisa bicara bahasa... and I just didn't hear anything normal like, "Salamat" when the hotel staff welcomed them. Maybe it was a dialect, like Javanese, that I don't recognize.

  • CAuse it's too risky to film it in Indonesia. can't imagine having the entire film crew arrested

  • hell of a world we live in

  • and definitly why we should bomb you first. Your willingness to bomb places is stupid.

  • OMGwhere is part 2? :S they leave you with all the expectations... will he die?? ;P

  • Of course he doesn't die or he wouldn't be on the show telling what happened.

  • well, there is stupid people and after them you come on the list... IT IS FUCKING OBVIOUS that I was making an ironic joke, you must be American, aren't you?

  • So nice how a NG film can just bring out the racism in al of us :)

  • lol this is what heppens when u use only half of your brain :O

  • Why would you say something like that? did you get dissed by a group of them or something? You don't need to express your feelings on youtube! use a stress ball!

  • why are u guys so racist we should bomb u for saying that bit**

  • lol, pathetic....how old are u? 12? grow the fuck up ignorant cunt

  • bomb ur fuckin ass first! dickLess!!

  • poor bastard.
