  • The Richter magnitude is mainly about how much energy released, not the shaking intensity.

Although the amount of energy released can influence the shaking, most earthquakes are different. I've lived through on heck of a year in Christchurch, New Zealand, and believe me, record breaking earthquakes in terms of intensity are INSANE!!!

  • i read about the earthquakes a lot and i have read that a 5 magnitude earthquake is 10 times stronger than a 4 m. earthquake and a 6 m. e.q. is 10 times stronger than a 5 m. e.q and a 7 m. e.q is 10 times stronger than a 6 m. earthquake and is goes like this!

  • He was obviously shaking the dresser himself

  • @spanishfly1st

    lmfao

  • Clearly you play a lot of sports.

  • Lol

  • Normally an unsecured drawer like that would likely to fall over with a magnitude just 6.0-6.5 due to extremely large shaking building with 3 directions of shaking power the building would shake hard and knock EVERYTHING on the drawer and including itself fell. Moreover in an earthquake 8.0 or higher the buildings(unsecured) is NOT likely to survive and collapse so we don't even need to talk about the drawer.

  • That is exactly what it's like up to the 7 I hope I don't fined out about the rest.

  • Wow, Japan had an earthquake that was a 9.0, that looks scary.

  • @landof101dreams I had a teacher tell me she had a class out side at UCSB and they had to fall on the ground and hold the grass in for this one earthquake. This was like in 83 she told us about that.

  • This is very accurate. Earthquakes would be much stronger than this...

  • IT LOOKZ LIKE UR TABLE IS FUCKING ITS SELF

  • It's funny how the wall in the background isn't moving at all.

  • Mag 5 = Enough scary

Feb. 22 Earthquake in CHCH = JIZZ IN MY PANTS

JUST BECAUSE MAGNITUDE IS BIG, DOSEN"T MEAN THAT THE PERCEIVED SHAKING IS BIG.

Feb 22 earthquake=Mag. 6.3. Perceived Shaking was record breaking.

  • Mag 5 = Enough scary

Feb. 22 Earthquake in CHCH = JIZZ IN MY PANTS

  • All earthquakes you tried to simulate (in a very bad way) are stronger then the earthquakes simulated in this video.

    Far too rough simulation!

  • a 9.0 mag will demolesh your house

  • soz bro i was in the christchurch earthquakes (7.1 6.3 and the second 6.3) no offence but that was a shitty simulation and quakes dont just go back and ford they go every direction!!!!!!!!!!! noooooooooooooooooooooooooob

  • @0987654321connor I agree, I was in the Chch quake too, the quakes you have shown are nothing like the real ones

  • at the end it seriously does look like your fucking the table

  • STUPID!!!! He was shaking it -.-

  • stop fucking the table !!! use your hand

  • I wonder what his parents were thinking when they heard the noise from the 9.0 coming from his bedroom......lol

  • is he just shaking it himself??

  • no shit hes shaking the dresser its a stimulation

  • is he just shaking his dresser? and a 9.0 earthquake would probably bring the house down too.

  • You're just shaking the drawer.

  • this video is dumb...all he is doing is shaking the dresser.

  • the guy is shaking the dresser

  • Are you like shaking the dresser or something?

  • @roan33

Woah, how do you masturbate? Anyway I believe the 9.0 Magnitude will be more powerful than that.

  • haha i have a 9.0 in the bedroom evry friday night

  • wtf idk y but evrything fell in the 8.00 one minus the modem and it only was on its side isnt that weird

  • I think people aren't considering that there is a size difference between a desk and a house. So consider people, if you were as tall as barbie, to fit in the car, and you were on the desk. Then you could get an idea of the comparison.

  • What about a simulation of the 9.5 1960 Valdivia Earthquake??

  • the 9.0 was about a 6.5 if u ask me

  • @nzkiwihawk far more destructive because everything was shaking instead of one book shelf shaking. I know what you mean, and during the earthquake, you can feel more scared and it can feel more intense than it actually is.

  • 2:52 OUCHHH!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I enjoyed the 9.0 earthquake the most.

  • lol this is funny

  • did your printer work after all that?

  • would been funny if you destroyed your printer and trophies

  • were you shaking your desk?

  • @rickyony no DERP

  • I would argue that all your simulations below 6 are out by about one point (the 3 is really a 2.5, the 4 is a 3 etc)

By about a 6 the furniture you are using would have moved away and by 7 will have fallen over! In an 8 it would have thrown you and your camera against the next wall...in a 9 everything in the room would have picked up and hit the ceiling :0)

Can I see that one please?

  • @mulattokid No theyre about right with wiggling their dresser. The sound isnt quite right and the 9.0 was just weird. It was like the shaking was in a pattern.

  • hhhmmmmm....none of these look 33 times bigger than the last one

  • I'VE SEEN THAT DESK BEFORE!! I think I've been in that same house! ;D Awesome shaking since it IS a simulation. It must have been fun.

  • I kno that guy must be tired as hell lol. By 7.0 da dress probably wouldn't still be standing.

  • I think the lesson here is: don't put trophies or your model cars on your desk if you're expecting an earthquake.

  • umm was that you shaking the desk?

  • heehe I have that modem!

  • lmfao this is fake beyond belief. I just picture some guy shaking his desk "Estimating" such things. waste of time.

  • shaking the cabinet.. fail

  • Chile 8.8 =/

  • thats fake and a 9.0 is way more powerful than that

  • @enriqueyumsnarf You, my friend, are absolutely correct. In the real world, a 9.0 is likely to last for a long time; the 8.8 Chile earthquake lasted 1.5 minutes and the 9.1 earthquake that caused the Boxer tsunami lasted for about 20-30 minutes.

  • @jhweather 9.0 is total catastrophe, you can't go higher.

  • @jimeneze914 10.0 magntuide

  • @jhweather well, The earthquake i lived, 8.8 here in chile was huge, it was shaking for 3 minutes, The Biggest earthquake in the World was here too, in Valdivia in 1961... It was the longest too, with almost 10 minutes, and a huge tsunami...

  • @jhweather you dont know what you are doing, you've probably never felt an earthquake its just you shaking the dresser....

  • @jhweather And that "9.0 " of yours did less damage than the 1994 northridge earthquake which was a 6.7, the dresser would of been on the ground and everything on the dresser would of been shaken off.

  • @jhweather correction, Boxer Day earthquake lasted 10 min, Chile 8.8 earthquake lasted 3 minutes and a half. Greetings from Chile

  • That's kind of scary just thinking about it

  • you have a machine or something like that or its just you moving the place?

  • hey we got the same att modem cool

    nice video
