hi burgs. do you find yourself turning up the boost when you roll a lot of the bass out of the signal? trying to decide between the rippah and the stock 12 position, and wondering if having the boost readily accessible is worth another $45. i like to set my wah slightly above unity, and would probably prefer to set and forget with a trimpot inside the case. thanks!
@letsgetcarriedaway I rarely use the boost, I have to say. Most of the wah'ing I do is clean and the frequency boost from the effect itself is normally enough. However, if I'm going on a Slash bent, then the boost can be fun. But it's been a while since that happened... :)
Man this is probably the best wah demo I've seen! Great example of the wah, just enough talk and the sound is glorious! I was looking at getting the exact wah, Kevin at Wilson is about as cool as a person can get online. I think Teese has gotten a little to big for his britches and Area 51 won't even respond to email inquiries...so Wilson it is!
@badhandtim Heheh. It IS a long name! I thought that when I was entering it in the title line, too.
I haven't made a cent (although someone did donate $20 once) from these vids. However, I do get to hang on to the occasional pedal sometimes. That's nice. I can sell them if I need to. Mrs K wants me to sell ALL OF THEM NOW! Heheh. "But darling, they're research!"
@YipermaNzZ Michael at Deluxe Guitars in Sth Melbourne was going to bring some in. I don't know whether he did or not. Try him on +61 3 9686 4755. Otherwise, I'm sure Kev will be happy to sort you out. Right, Kev? :)
@conrad4444 To my ears the Rippah Vintage is a little more capable of delivering the lower freq throaty stuff that I personally go for. This is why I prefer it. However, if you're a Crybaby lover, both will do the job nicely.
@joshie4330 The settings that are suggested by Kevin are all demonstrated here but the wah is so versatile I doubt there are few wah sounds you couldn't coax from it. Experimentation is the key.
I'm about to order a wilson. Was searching comments on you CAE demo and found this: "sounds kinda phaserish". Do the Wilson wahs get that same thing going. I love the sonic youth super-slow sweep with dirty guitar. I kinda want to get the CAE cos I've tried it and liked it but am convinced with your point about buffer bypass and fuzz action. Does the 12 position or the Rippah 12 have more CAE Qualities. Hope you enjoy making the demos as much as they have been helpful. Thanks, Nick. Go Saints!!!

Hi!
How does the Wilson wah compare to the Rippah? I have the Wilson wah and was wondering if I should upgrade to the Rippah? Thx!

Also, what all settings are available (ie Jen, Clyde, Colorsound, etc.)?
