That was the plan of ex-President Arroyo before. Most middle class households will cut fats and skin from beef chicken or pork from the lean meat and throw them away. Why not segregate the food waste from the ordinary garbage and have them collected so it can be distributed to the dump site.

Instead of going over the garbage why not make an arrangement with restaurants, grocery stores, and rich household to segregate food waste from ordinary garbage and then pick them up for the needy. It's a simple system that works better.
The infamous gangster Al Capone has done that for the poor people of Chicago back in the 30's depression era.
Why can't we do that in Manila.

This clip is disheartening. In other countries pet dogs are better fed than our poor countrymen. Food security has been neglected by previous governments since Cory Aquino's, since rich hacienderos wanted to exempt their properties from land reform. They converted these to golf courses, commercial centers, and residential complexes. The country imports 90% rice from Vietnam. That's why food is not affordable to ordinary Filipinos.

Malaki ang agwat ng mayaman at ng mahirap sa Pilipinas dahilan ito sa government roles. Sa Pilipinas, walang economic freedom at justice na may ngipin. Nag-tra-thrive ang mga wealthy at high ranking officials sa Pilipinas kasi merong protectionism coming sa government. Kaya ang layo talaga ng gap between poor at rich. Also, walang constitutional consistent reform sa Pilipinas. Poverty is not because people are poor. Its because they are overpriced at lack of jobs without any soundness sa money!

We always blame the government for their corruption. Who's corrupting them? It has already accepted as a way of life in PI. Everyone wants to get ahead so they pay officials and so on and so on. We are all guilty of giving in to public officials. If any of you commenting had the opportunity to get some sort of government contracts or whatever type of business, and it would pay out greatly, wouldn't you try to bribe also?
