  • 4:05 that pose is so fucking incredible...pete ftw

  • conversation with my mom:

mom: "whats that music in the background?"

    me: "the who"

    mom: "who?"

    me: "yes ^^"

    mom: "WHAT?! ô_o"

  • Do you know, the version from "Join Together" remembered me the Zelda, Street Fight and other really old games.. listen it and you'll have the same impression, i think..

  • In my opinion The Who died with Keith Moon. Kenny Jones was crap and I could not stand Rabbit Bundrick playing keyboards on every single song. Starkey is very good but The Who are too old and are losing it with old age. It showed during their Super Bowl performance.

  • @dongtingwong kenney jones wasn't a bad drummer at. He was wrong for The Who...

  • whats keith moon made out of??? fucking best drummer of all time :O

  • Are these guys on drugs or what?

  • @glimmer2158 You haven't seen the who on drugs until you've seen the Cow Palace gig.

  • This is one of the best videos I've seen on youtube. Long live mr. townshend

  • WOW

  • Thanks for posting all these - I saw this tour too - I think its the only time I really saw The bloody 'OO for real, cause the other times were post Keith.

  • Bloody hell Pete was good in this. And that bass sounds down right beastly!

  • @JacklandInc It's the all mighty sound of an Alembic!

  • I saw the Who at the Astrodome back around 1990 when Stevie Ray Vaugn opened up for them - need I say more! They were the true innovators of hard rock and the stadium super group. Dam good job on the video posts Sparks is awesome esp Petes dam good guitar.

  • "He's crazy if he thinks we're coming back again..."

  • @MrGb1965 Great track from Sell Out!

  • that was loud

  • I think I just had a religious experience watching this performance. Holy shit!

  • I was a junior at Waltrip HS in Houston the night of this show, we had mid-terms the next day but I sat 10 rows in front of the stage at The Summit cuz i had a pass from selling popcorn at Rockets games that let me go anywhere i wanted..lol...try that these days. A bartender at the Summit got us into the after party at the Galleria Hotel and we partied all night with Pete and the boys and about a dozen topless chix as Moon got "squeezeboxed" by the lot of them...good times indeed.

  • You lucky duck!

  • @rowdymax1 crazy days, crazy days, crazy days

  • Is there a part of Rael in it?

  • @fontanalu Rael was written before this. It was reworked for Tommy and, of course, for the live versions of it. All Who tunes took on a new life when performed live. Still do.

  • god dam it...every time i listen to this it get's better and better....thanks for posting!

  • good Lord, today's so call ''heavy bands'' sounds like sissys compare to this. And that growling alembic bass gnnnnnnnnnnnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

  • john just got better and better with age. as did they all. (bless you CallMeLightning for posting.) john is ripping up that instrument but not jumping around so no footage.

  • I was amazed when I saw the show live (yes, I was there) and I'm amazed now. Way to play that Les Paul Mr. Pete. And the after show party was notoriously busted affair.

  • Why isn't this released?????? It's a lot better than the NYC show I was at that tour...I guess they were on good behavior in Texas LOL^^^^

  • keith moon is my idol

greatest drummer of all time period end of discussion anyone who tries to copy him is only doing that TRYING no one will ever quite match his style

  • This is The Who at their absolute best!!!

I was at the charlton 76 gig i was only 14, they were quite simply "The Dogs bollox"!!!!

  • This is just such a boot in the head !

  • I've always loved Sparks, 5 stars for this one.

  • Keith Moon was the most exciting drummer ever. Watching him play live was utterly jaw dropping. Saw the Who in 1970 and haven't recovered yet ...meaning I HAVE to attend as many Who gigs as I can possibly can. Eight on the last tour alone (and Zak's doing an excellent job). Thanks for posting this.

  • hey - where was the 1970 show you lucky sod?

  • Greens Playhouse, Glasgow. Sat at the front of the balcony ....which was VERY close to the stage. Going to two London shows in December. An "intimate" venue for fan club members only. Like I said, I HAVE to!

  • I am TOTALLY jealous!!! Be great! Love james

  • Good lord the fury of that Les Paul gets released all over the fuggin stage here! I mean, it's like a bit of controlled chaos. I.. words are failing me. I love the Who!

  • Where did you get this video footage? I want a copy.

  • I don't know what is more amazing...Townshend's performance in the first couple minutes or the fact that he's probably hammered out of his mind.

  • ...beautiful !!..thank you for

    posting this one !!
