@badmuthasuka Patience is required when waiting for hair transplant results. It takes about 6-12 weeks for the hair to start to grow from the hair transplant. At 6 months, 50% of the results are visible (a good time to take some preliminary 'before and after' pics, and it takes 12 months to see 90% of the result. It seems that using PRP for wound healing is helping the transplanted grafts begin to grow hair a little sooner than expected.
Also, I dont think moving more grafts faster is a good thing, a good thing is to take your time, I was in the chair for 12 hours with my latest procedure of 1544 grafts via fue and thats because they took thier time so I would get a good job.
@0biW8n In general, I would agree that doing things 'faster' may not be a good thing. However, with NeoGraft, not only is the harvesting more efficient, but the QUALITY of the grafts are also improved from manual FUE--at least in our seven-year experience with that technique. The average number of hair follicles per graft has increased steadily. Quality is our main concern and, of course, we'll take our time if we need to to get it right. Glad to hear your FUE procedure went well. --Dr. B.
What about the massive increase in cost? I think that anything over $25k for a NW7 complete restoration would be very expensive. I dont think the increase in cost makes it worth it. Got a friend that was a NW6 and now hes a NW1, and this is all from FUE. He does have an average of 110 per sq cm in the donor though.
Yes, thank you for your question, this procedure (which is now done with the NeoGraft device) can yield upwards of 1900 grafts in what we consider a 'reasonable' amount of time--in other words, similar to a linear harvest.
Transplanted hair is permanent. However, if you are prone to male pattern hair loss, you need to consider additional therapy to keep the other hair (which is at risk). Treatments like Propecia and Minoxidil/Rogaine can protect you very well from future hair loss.
How many grafts/FUE's can Bauman Medical perform at one session? I have done alot of Research, and I think your company is by far the most professional.
It depends on a few factors, really. Using the Neograft device, we're able to move quicker than before. Also if you have a buzzcut, this helps with speed and we are able to harvest more hair per day. Some FUE cases are as little as 500 or as many as 1600 grafts/day. Some patients need two sessions within the same week to get the numbers of grafts they want.
@alber12111 Thank you for your question. Hair transplant procedures yielding over 3,000 grafts are now regularly performed with the NeoGraft device. Usually, this type of procedure would be done over the course of two days (back to back). A single-day NeoGraft/FUE session typically yields about 1500 grafts. There are, however, many variables that can affect the yield. --Dr. B.
1) Will taking Propecia or Minoxidil affect hormones, and interefere with Testosterone Replacement Therapy (Androgel)?
2) I've been holding off waiting for the Hair Multiplication (Cloning) procedure. Do you know what the status of that is, and when you think it may come out to the public? I'm afraid I will get FUE and then with my luck cloning will come out soon after.
3) Ballpark figure...How much for FUE to fill in a Norwood III?
Actually the newer instruments, like Neograft for FUE, make the procedure less costly because this machine helps us transplant more hair with each procedure than before. (You'll need less procedures to reach your goal.)
How long does it take for the hair to grow normally?

will the spots where the hair is removed grow back or is that area (donor area) not going to regrow the hair?

Hi Doctor Bauman...three questions...
Thank You.

If you get a hair graft, do you have to take Rogaine to keep the hair? Or, will those follicles stay up there without the drug?
Another question, does the grafted hair come out easier than the other hair? Thanks.

Transplanted hair is permanent, but most patients will use Propecia to protect the other, non-transplanted hair.

sounds pretty expensive to me..:S
