  • Oh yeah! my favorite is carrot apple beet ginger and a little parsley. i use about six or seven carrots i love the frothiness. never knew you could juice the leafy part of beets..(good to know).. Do have any information or advice about the importance of vitamin D3 supplements?

  • @tarrded d3 is best obtained from going out in the sun with no sunscreen for about a half hour (i dont have sun/cancer paranoia). if you live in not-so-sunny of an area, take D from a whole food company like garden of life or something. or you could take the average D3 which comes from wool oil or fish liver. depends on what you can afford to do. they both do the job :-)

  • I am new to juicing and i got the breville as well and it is very good. i am going to try this recipe you gave. thanks!

  • @janeclmty no prob! enjoy the juice and so glad you dig your juicer!

  • i think you've been juicing marijuana and mushrooms mmmkay.

  • @mrjon75 ha... yer funny.

  • anyone who knows ANYTHING about juicers and jucing, knows that juice from a centrifugal juicer (such as breville) is junk when compared to a cold juicer. The high revolutions oxidize the juice instantly and the high rpm's of about 10000 develop so much heat which is, needless to say, very bad for the vitamins, minerals. Lastly, try juicing leafy greens with that juicer.

  • @lunakaefi we acutually love that it juices the greens quickly, easily and efficiently. we do not claim that this is the best juicer in the world. but its the best one for people who dont have 10 years to make juice. i have had non-centrifigul juicers that scalded my juice so hot, it must have killed everything. my juice is ice cold in this one. so its a good beginner, transitional one. relax, my friend.. there is something out there for everyone :)

  • @RawHealingPatch your video title contradicts your last comment about this being the best juicer. This vid will give you a better idea how good the juicer is (or isnt): enter "censored video vs magimix" here in youtube and judge yourself.

  • i've been reading a lot of reviews and half of them say this juicer is bad...would you still say its the best?

  • @fowler6099 i wouldnt say its the best juicer on the market for everything. i think its the best for getting the greens juiced easily. others may be better at extracting EVERY bit of juice from the pulp. but for an easy, quick juice, this is perfect for us. and we are not stressed over the whole pulp issue. we do the best with it...

  • Good to know. I don't have any juicer right now, mostly chew chew chew :o) like you recommended in you prev. video, but Breville will be on my list. Girls what about blander? I know vitamix is popular, but hey, juicer is a complicated device. There is lot's of mechanic parts in there. Blander, on the other hand, is just one knife running at high RPM. I think any blander will do as long as it's easy to clean take it apart and clean. What do you think? Thanks.

  • If you have $400 to spend, we like the BlenTec (its like a vitamix and now they make them with the large container that is easy to scrape out..not sure what model it is you will have to call them). we do not own a high speed blender. we have a cheapy basic one. the problem is, if you plan on blending nuts and fruit and stuff down to very creamy/smooth consistency you need a high speed blender. if you are fine with basic mixing, spend under $100 and get a basic blender :)

  • thanks for the reply. Some people never reply, but you DO.

For now I just use S-knife in the food processor. It works only with soft stuff - strawberry, banana, blueberry, avocado, tomato etc. Apples are too hard for it, nuts I wouldn't even try :-|

I don't want to buy lots of appliances, it's part of been "green". Will try to look into something all-in-one, something like Braun multiquick.

  • sounds good. :) bein' green is groovy :)

  • Ha kick ass, juicing is fun. I really like my lequip 215xl

  • I am trying to order a new juicer and heard the 800 elite is the best from Breville, is this what you are using?

  • this is not the 800 ELITE, it is just the regular one and works perfect, but the elite i heard is the bomb :)

  • My Mom is ordering me the 800 Elite for Christmas, 250 and free shipping? that is a killer good deal. I am ordering it through Dan's store : ) Thanks for the recommendation, I needed more validation as buying a juicer is a HEAD SPIN!

  • awesome! good choice :) you will love it.

  • Is this the 800 Elite?

  • You juice the apple, including seeds? Maybe it's time fo me to replace my Juice Man Jr. The price of the Breville sounds doable. I've been debating the purchase of a Vitamix Turbo Blend 4500, as I can get one for 335 dollars. Still an ouch, but well worth the pain I'm sure. The juice sounds divine. Kholrabi is something I've never experienced. Something to look forward to trying. Figs and dates were new things fo me, and they are now my kryptonite!

  • whispers..breville reconditioned at amazon.

  • yes, you put the whole apple straight in and it devours it in seconds. no cutting necessary. we also put big fat handfuls of greens and it devours those too. i used to have a juiceman jr and it was like an ant compared to this breville workhorse. invest, for sure! i think bed, bath, and beyond has good deals or you could try crosspecans advice below and look for refurbished ones. oh yeah, figs and dates are amazing. we are growin kholrabi. makes a great "chip" 4 dip when sliced. :)

  • i was ready to jump till i saw this. yt hurom slow juicer. im back in the fog.

  • i just watched matt monarch's hurom juicer video and it does look quite wonderful. not quite as quick as the breville, but i think you will get more juice and dryer pulp, by the looks of things. this could be great for one of our future investments perhaps. it all depends on what you can afford right now. :)

  • love you ladies! the breville for me is awesome BUT it doesnt get out the amount of juice from greens like a green star or twin gear...although for the rest of fruits and veggies, it is hands down the best...but greens...not as much...and I have the elite too. :(

  • yeah, we hear you... we would like a bit more out of the greens, but at least it does get some. and we figure the plants who get the compost made up of our juice leftovers will appreciate the extra vitmins and minerals, so we are not too worried about it. we have not tried green star. will try one if someone we kjnow has one. we are open to anything new :) thanks!

  • Beets make your pee purple.

    LOL!

  • very often they do... ha ha.... be warned, people! :)

  • hello! rodrigo y gabriella rock out in your car in the beginning of your video? ..i think.. i love it. if i'm mistaken, i still love it. along with all of your videos <3 i've been subbed for a bit now but i stink at comments, boo. thank you for bringing us so much great information :)

  • hey you are so welcome. i am not sure about the background music while i was drumming. i think it was bitch and animal rockin out, but not sure. i have not heard of rodrigo y gabriella. thank you for watchin our videos. much appreciated. :)

  • i think sing is Kaki King's 'pink noise' . Love her stuff.

Sarah/ Julie , your thoughts on Juicing vs blending .

  • yes, that's it! kaki king! thank you...i barely ever read the artist names while listening to the ipod. ha. we will do a video on blending vs. juicing soon just for you! senin love...

  • well ,Dandy ! talk about interactive . ;D

my Mom & Dad still hav a 70s Acme centrifugal Juicer . So awesome , you could prolly juice an oak branch with it. i have juiced with a blender and paint strainer. works great too

  • sweet, acme are supposed to be amazing as well....right on! :) blenders are wonderful for juicing as well. we filmed the juicing vs. blending video and will post next week after a few others that need to get done. cheers...

  • over the top. ive been tryin to decide which juicer to get. thanks for your vote. ive blended my last kate...hooorah. waves~~

  • yeah, we love the breville. love it! one day we will get the ELITE version. i am sure it is even better, although the juice fountain is just fine :)

  • I just bought kohlrabi from my farmer's market to juice. I will make sure to use apples with it, have you juiced this veg before? If so, what do you like to blend with it? I will treat them like beets, a little goes a long way. Ps. I love that you juice chard too. I am currently on a major rainbow chard kick. I love juicing it!!! You didn't use your carrot tops for this one. Where did they go! Are they hiding? afraid of the big bad Brevelle lol Ps love the drums!!! rock it lady!

  • we are growing some heairloom kholrabi we just planted. so have not juiced it yet. we have used it sliced into salad, though. but yeah, go lightly at first. we had a bag of organic carrots that did not have greens on it. so that is where the greens are. ha ha

  • OMG I love juicing, I'm sure you know this by now lol seems like all my recent videos and comments are about juicing. It's such a wonderful gift to give to our bodies! power to our cells! brains! I love the energy boost from fresh juice, nothing beats a nice glass of freshly squeezed produce. Welcome to your new juicer, I am glad you found one you love. Great energy in this video! Nice recipe, I do similar minus the ginger - can't tolerate it right now - and beets every few nights.

  • glad you love juicing so much....its such a burst of yummy energy!!!! oh yeah!!!!!! :)

  • I just got one of those too! Sweeeeet

  • right on... more and more peeps are realizing the breville is just an animal at eating up greens! yes! so fun, we make juice all day long. have fun!
