"Not almost, any other platform in the market"....*nods head*

  • Its awesome

  • now is 2010, when release...runtime?

  • When are you going to get Java on an iPhone. How about when Steve Jobs stops being a cock sucking Nazi twat? How about who fucking cares? Anyone who purchases an apple product deserves what they get: paying apple prices for apple quality.

  • Go tell it to your welfare buddies you fag!

  • SUN has lowered the fence for new developers to get in the game, thats why you mad. I can tell you, the very ppl out there that thought open source is inferior are having a rethink. Some of us who had the chance/foresight to learn linux and java, javafx are getting job offers. There are entire server rooms filled with linux boxes, running custom java apps, but all you see is the flash app running on the client end and go ooohh flash is great. Keep thinking the way you do mate, you're licked :D

  • JavaFX on android would be cool.. but i do not see it happening.. I am programming on android now, and the android API is really nice: no real need for javafx... maybe

  • My expierience: java is good foor the server side and for mobile development (i used j2me and now android)

Java on the desktop is difficult because flash is such a good contender.. it is difficult too beat flash. Flash loads quicks and it runs quick. Java fx must load a JVM wichi is slow, and it needs to load a lot of packages and therefore requires a lot of memmory. Try the JavaFX demo for yourself.. they are sluggish compared to flash , tested on my budget laptop.

  • for User like developer JavaFX is good

but for user, flash is enough

but i still like JavaFX, it easy but rich

  • JavaFX is slower than Java for fuck sake.

  • but is 30 times! faster than Flash virtual machine.... so, shut up.

  • But it needs more time to load, and user needs to accept............

  • needs to accept ONLY if you are going to use local resources, for security reasons, if not... it's just like a Java applet. On the other hand, source code is pretty shorter and simpler than any other language I know. BTW, you can drag the applet from the web page into your desktop and leave it there like a local application with a shortcut to launch it, with almost not additional code. Can you do that with Flash? Time to launch was improved and is pretty acceptable.

  • @javafxespanol

I find that VERY difficult to believe. I'm a java programmer and a gamer. There's no way. You might be able to find some specific example where the JVM (which is quite nice, mature, efficient, etc etc) wildly outperforms the Flash VM, x30 even... but I know for a fact find a where JavaFX is significantly slower than Flash. JavaFX is still a fairly new thing. Give it some time.

  • javafx and silverlight both will work on Android platform, this is definitely exciting

  • Thank you Java Team :)

  • I like the way he act like he's not already know the answers lol.
