@boingokky Because it's obvious they put a spell stronger Sirius Black in the saddle for him not to run again. Thus the Alohomora would not work like that door in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone;)

@wilhelmrk Same difference though. If he was a supposed dangerous escaped felon, wouldn't Hogwarts have put a spell around his cell that would be unbreakable by any ordinary spell?  Or maybe Dumbledore was in charge of his imprisonment and casually 'forgot' to put a protective spell around him to keep him from escaping??!!

@04Ulquiorra1 Indeed, for this kind of Bombarda performance, you do need to swish the wand, and to pull, because Bombarda has multiple effects, It can pull things like Carpe Retractum. Well about the face emotions that was hillarious.

@EPYFC She was only focusing the wand at the padlock so it would be the only thing to blast apart. Bombarda causes small, controlled explosions. Something like "Expulso!" or "Confringo!" causes much larger devastation, with the latter spell involving a source of heat. :)

@SaintPandemonium I thought that Bombarda was a much more power explosive charm, and that Reducto was small controlled explosions. And Confringo caused a burst of flames to erupt?

@JVcrow44 Reducto bursts objects into pieces, but Bombarda and Expulso are small, controlled explosions of energy. And yeah, Confringo does involve a source of heat, it causes molecular combustion.
