@sergsrt8 first of all..... if your gonna upgrade your turbo on the evo...(you might as well get cams, do it right!) ... and you need to upgrade injectors and fuel pump..
I've never actually thought about that....I dont think they are legal, .but you'll most likely get a ticket for having tinted windows and a loud exhaust, than having cams though........My Evo has a turbo back exhaust with a Test Pipe... I just found out that was illegal cause I cant pass inspection. Anyways, your like the only person I know that actually is concerned enough to ask-( if cams is street legal) Whhy you ask? Do you live in Cali? ha,
@sergsrt8 And also don't forget about the clutch master cylinder. Mitsu made the piece out of plastic and once you upgrade to a heavier clutch, the stock one will eventually break. SSP makes a good replacement.
@princeofroyalty2 actually on the Evo X, most cams don't put down a ton of power. But yes if you have the funds, then get everything done together, and at that time you can also do head studs etc. And yes he's right when you start putting down this much power, your gonna have to do some other necessities like fuel pump, injectors, and don't forget about clutch too as the stock one may not hold up much longer.
@EvolvedBoost any update on the 1/4? I am really excited to get mine back with the Red in it ! can't wait ! how different does it pull compared to the stock turbo?
@WuJyeWilly hey.... lemmme know how it feels when you get your evo back... send me an inbox message... Im curious to know your first reaction. how much power are you putting down to the wheels?
@WuJyeWilly Actually sold the car recently and never had a chance to make it to the track with this current set up. It should run low 11's though. The Red has already broken 10's. But the car still had stock cams, exhaust manifold. Still has room for gains. And yea you'll enjoy the turbo. Still spools up pretty quick, and when it hits full boost its strong and just keeps climbing. It'll keep you in your seat.
@princeofroyalty2 If his is making 473whp, with a twin disk clutch, easily near flat 3s. I make flat 4s with a single full face clutch and BALD tires, currently making 365WHP on a dynojet w/ stock turbo + pump gas.
But like EvolvedBoost said, 0-60's too short to even bother with. ;)
Currently pulling 12.8s on the 1/4 though. Evolved's probably going to get high 11s, and low 12s.
Hey man, where do u buy the meth?

Are you on stock block? I'm really leaning towards the Red too, but concern about the rod bolts and head studs
WuJyeWilly 1 year ago
@WuJyeWilly Yes the engine was complety stock. I sold the car recently. I put about 15k miles on it with this set-up with no major issues.
