Wow-after all these years they performed this sound again, can't believe it.One of my all time favorites.Considering the set up and location they really didn't sound that bad,in fact they sounded very decent. If they had a better set up on an inside stage with some acoustic improvements, they would have sounded AWESOME,amazing, after all these years.I was 13 when this song came out, still have my original 45rpm.Those were great times, never to return. You can have today.
Gerry and the Pacemakers. Fill me in. Did they want to be associated with geriatrics and pace-maker defibrillators and whatnot, OR did the medical community steal the name for it's pace maker apparatti?
A great name mighta been Counterfeiter and the Peso Makers.
Really, I loved that song. I used to listen to it on the way to school in the 60s on my little Renault Dauphin AM radio. US music was already subccobming to payola and becoming pure zit face crap. Gerry was a real bright spot...
Liverpool sure turned out some great artists. I grew up with the invasion to America. Many thanks Liverpoolians - time to do it again. The music is crap over here now. Time to get some rhythm, blues, and soul back into the game. Were the Searchers from Liverpool also? Have to google them up I suppose. Of course, we had a few good ones too back then...like Jimi and Janis to name a few...
@taikwondoman How much of Gerry and the Pacemakers' music did you listen to to make that comparison? If you can't comment without being rude, keep quiet.
I just saw a special on my local PBS televison station which featured the great British rock and roll acts of the 1960's and decided to look some of them up on here and am glad to have found this video. The sound quality is excellent ,one of the best on here. thank you for posting
Great live version, plus his voice has the same tone and timbre as 40 years before.
@kinky10crazy: Indeed the music which is produced today is an insulting nuisance to our 60ies-ears; only a few like Travis, Katie Melua or Robbie Williams make/made great music these days.
I feel so sorry for you that you feel the need to be so negative. If you don't like the music listen to something else which does make you feel positive.

No, they had their first 3 songs go to number 1 !! No-one beat that until Spice Girls. You'll never walk alone, I Like It,How Do You Do It? Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying and loads more... they were a good band.
I was there and it was wonderful being in Liverpool at the pier head and right
